Work Text:
Logan groans. He hates Christmas, all the fake cheer. He hears Christmas music and puts a pillow over his head. He looks at the alarm clock; he overslept, not that it matters, he has no classes to teach. He gets up, goes to the bathroom, brushes his teeth and leaves his room. He runs into Scott on his way to the kitchen and growls, “Move.” Scott raises an eyebrow, “You are extra grumpy today.” Logan growls, “Stupid music, can’t wait for this to be over. Christmas is the worst time of the year.” Scott shakes his head; he and Logan will never be friends, but he can sympathize with him. The same song has been playing for two days.
Logan walks into an empty kitchen, makes himself a sandwich and leaves again. He goes outside and takes a walk. He eats his sandwich and thinks about why he didn’t leave this place years ago. He could be back at his cabin, and he'd be lonely. He would be alone, and she wouldn’t be there. He turns back, thinking about her all the way back.
Rogue likes Christmas, but even she is sick of the same song playing over and over again. She looks out of the window and sees Logan walking in the snow. She smiles, she knows he hates this time of the year, and she hopes it will change next year.
He finds her ten minutes later, “I am going to kill the person in charge of the music.” She laughs, “Good luck. We don’t know who it is. It’s driving everyone crazy to listen to Last Christmas on repeat.” He sits down and pulls her into his lap. She puts her arms around his neck. They are staring into each other’s eyes. He starts to stroke her back, she leans in, and their lips meet in a chaste kiss. He pulls her closer for a deeper kiss. “I love you, Marie.” She smiles against his lips, “I love you to,o Logan.”
She rests her head against his chest. When she hid in the back of his truck, she never would have imagined she would end up married to him. After the whole Magneto fiasco, he gave her his tags and told her he’d be back for them and her. They started dating after he came back from seeking answers to his past. That was five years ago. He came back and kissed her senseless. Three years ago, he asked her to marry him, and in six months, their family will expand.
Logan is stroking her stomach. Opening up his heart to her was the best decision he’s ever made, and that is saying something considering the long life he lived. He inhales her scent. It took decades for him to find his mate, and he finally found her. The wolverine knew it the moment they met, but Logan took more convincing, but they got there in the end.
The music finally stops, Magneto enters the living room, “Tell Charles we need a new stereo.” Logan looks at the younger version of Magneto, or Erik, as he prefers to be called. He still doesn’t understand how he and Charles are now their younger self. This Erik is a far cry from the Magneto who kidnapped his wife years ago.
Logan snorts, “Tell your husband yourself. Or are you scared?” Erik sits down and crosses his arms over his chest, “I am not scared of my husband.” Charles walks into the room, “Pity that we need a new stereo.” He sits down next to Erik and kisses his cheek. Erik raises an eyebrow, “You wouldn't have anything to do with the same song playing over and over again. You wouldn’t have counted on me destroying the radio, so you’d buy a new one?” Charles puts a hand over his heart, “I’d never do such a thing.” Erik snorts, “Right, that is coming from the man who used his telepathy to make sure he got the last cinnamon roll.” Charles puts on an innocent face, “I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Erik puts an arm around him and kisses the top of your head, “Whatever you say, Schatz.”
