Even as spent as he is, those words make him shudder. He hadn’t gotten sucked off since the last time John did this for him, the last time Gideon made a report like this. It’s how it goes: the Saint of Duty takes care of God’s enemies for him, crosses the galaxy on his orders and puts down his foes, and then he returns to God’s side and John takes care of him in turn, pulls Gideon apart and puts him back together. He's nice about it, even, most of the time.
