Work Text:

Alec had just finished his extremely boring meeting with the Clave discussing about the rules and how he wasn’t obeying them…but he obviously didn’t care. He had been trying to convince them that the rules on the Shadowhunter world shouldn’t be to harsh but they didn’t budge the whole meeting.

Now walking home to his and Magnus’s flat with a slight frown on his face, but the frown was slowly disappearing at the fact that Magnus will do everything in his power to make his frown disappear.

Alec slowly opened the door to their flat and closed it silently knowing that Magnus was already home because of the magic he can sense from the air around him.

“Mags where are you?” Alec said loudly walking around the house not seeing Magnus in the kitchen or the living room. He was too busy looking around for Magnus that he didn’t notice Chairman Meow come out of the bedroom purr and rub against his foot.

“Ah!” Alec jumped a bit and looked down at whatever was touching him but calmed down as he realised that it was Chairman.

He giggled a bit and said “Oh, its just you Chairman.” Alec smiled as he pet Chairman on the head making him purr with appreciation before walking away and jumping onto the couch.

“Now, where did you come from?” Alec said as he looked around confused before his eyes landed on the half open bedroom door.

“Oh!” Alec said surprised as he walked to the door and slowly opened the door.

“Mags you in here?” Alec asked as he opened the door fully and saw the scene before him.

Magnus was shirtless in the middle of the room and was the most beautiful thing Alec had ever seen.

Magnus turned around as he heard the sound of Alec’s voice and with a smile on his face said sweetly.

“Yeah darling I was just..” Magnus pulled the shirt over his head and winked at Alec. “Putting a shirt on.”

For a second Magnus thought that he had broken Alec because he just stared at him wide eyed with his mouth slightly ajar. Magnus was about to ask what was the matter with Alec when something Magnus was defiantly not expecting…Alec fainted.

Alec’s eyes closed in slow motion as he fell onto the floor like a wooden plank and his head hit the wooden floorboards missing the cupboard nearby by centimetres.

“Alexander?! Oh my God!” Magnus shouted as he hurriedly put the rest of the shirt on his body and rushed to kneel next his boyfriend.

Magnus cradled Alec’s body as if it were a new-born baby as he cupped his cheek gently with one hand. Alec had not opened his eyes the entire time he had moved him which alarmed Magnus even more to the point of panicking immensely.

“Dear, are you alright?” Magnus said sweetly as his magic checked for any signs of injury but found nothing…although Alec might have a headache when he wakes up from the fall against the hard floorboards.

“Alexander? Wake up darling...” Magnus said again as he lifted Alec bridal style and rushed over to the bed carefully laying Alec down on the bed.

As Magnus magicked a chair over to the bed and sat on it, Alec groaned, and eyes fluttered.

“Darling?” Magnus whispered as he cupped Alec’s cheek with one hand and resting his other on Alec’s chest.

Alec’s eyes fluttered slowly opened and groggily focused on Magnus’s face.

“Alexander are you alright? You scared the life out of me.” Magnus huffed chuckling as a smile started to come back to his face.

“….mmmm…M-mag…s..” Alec groaned his throat felt like it had been rubbed raw with sandpaper.

Alec’s face finally focused on Magnus’s concerned but slightly smiling face as he too smiled drunkenly as he moved his hand slowly to rest in top of Magnus’s. But unfortunately, the beautiful moment was cut short as Alec moaned in pain and his hands clutched his temples as sharp pain began to spread around his head.

“Darling! Are you ok? Oh no you may have a nasty headache after the stunt you performed today.” Magnus said concerned but giggled slightly.

“Ngghh…I feel awful Mags…” Alec whispered as he closed his eyes tightly trying to get the harsh light to stop hurting his head.

“I would assume so Alexander.” Magnus replied as he kissed Alec’s forehead gently and got up from his seat to get a potion to ease Alec’s pain.

Magnus quickly got the potion from the cupboard that Alec had nearly had a near death experience with and walked hastily back to where Alec was trying to prop himself up with his elbows still groaning in pain. Magnus carefully put down the potion on the dresser next to the bed they shared and gently pushed Alec into a sitting position so he could swallow the potion without choking on its contents.

Magnus gently sat down next to Alec again and carefully helped him drink the potion making sure he doesn’t choke in the process. Alec almost gagged and spat it out at the taste of the potion but thankfully swallowed all of it.

“Mmmmm….thanks M-mags.” Alec whispered his smile getting wider as the headache starting to fade away thanks to the potion.

“Anytime darling.” Magnus replied as he leaned over the bed and kissed Alec’s cheek gently making Alec blush.

“But I do have to ask this one question dear.” Magnus said curious on what the answer Alec will tell.

“Hm?” Alec answered confused on Magnus’s statement.

“Why did you faint darling?” Magnus asked curiously as Alec blushed violently and looked away from Magnus stuttering out his obvious lies.

“Um..u-uh….n-no…reas-son Mags..” Alec finally stuttered out as he blushed even more if that was possible.

“You stutter and blush when you lie Alexander, don’t bother lying to me.” Magnus chuckled.

Alec sighed giving up on his lie and said “A-alright…it’s quite embarrassing, but I-I fainted because I-I wasn’t e-expecting you to be shirtl-less and so h-hot…”

After finishing the sentence Alec went back to blushing like a ripe tomato and buried his red, blushing face in his hands refusing to look at Magnus. After what seemed like ages of silence to Alec, but in reality was only a couple of seconds Magnus laughed. Alec looked up in confusion wondering why Magnus was laughing at such an embarrassing and shameful thing Alec had done especially for a shadowhunter.

“Oh darling, there was nothing embarrassing about fainting even for a shadowhunter and even for the reason you fainted is something you shouldn’t be ashamed of.” Magnus said as he finally stopped laughing and cupped Alec’s cheek, kissing his forehead softly smiling.

“But I’m a shadowhunter! Shadowhunters aren’t supposed to faint at the sight of their shirtless boyfriend…no matter how s-sexy they look…” Alec shouted but realised what he just said and started blushing again.

Magnus giggled “It’s ok darling I’ll make sure to warn you if I’m taking my shirt off…and thank you for calling me sexy.”

“No p-problem.” Alec replied anxiously looking up at Magnus with a small smile on his face.

Magnus huffed smiling and kissed Alec softly saying, “You’re one of a kind darling out of the 17,000 people I have dated in my lifetime not one of them has fainted at the sight of my shirtless body.”

Alec blushed again “It wasn’t intentional, but I’m glad it made you happy.”

“I like it when you blush Alec…” Magnus said mischievously as his cat eyes appeared and made Alec blush like pure red paint.

“I can make you blush for the rest of the night.” Magnus added as he kissed Alec passionately and pushed him to lay down on the bed, pinning his hands against the bed.

They might’ve missed out on dinner, but they were perfectly happy with each other’s company. Thanks to the event they didn’t get much sleep that night despite being in bed…
