Work Text:

The vast sky was reflecting light hues of orange, and pink—and the occasional purple as a dusty, lithe cloud passed by—onto the brick walls of Will’s small apartment, of which he was actually swooping down into right now. He maneuvered himself down as he reached for his window lock, expecting to feel the slight chill of the wind-touched glass press against his thin Spiderman suit and found himself pleasantly surprised to find that it was already open, the curtains parted on either side to form a teenager-sized opening.

Will dipped down, reaching one hand inside to heave himself inside safely, casually resting himself in a crouched position on his bedside table as he turned to close his window.

“Nice to see you too, Spiderman.” A soft voice hushed out, tone fond and jibing with playfulness.

Will jumped, startled, and his head whipped around. Of course, he knew that Mike would be here. An open window means that obviously Mike would be sitting and waiting for him. The sudden voice just made him tense, after all, being a teen superhero meant you always had to have your guard up.

Mike laid on his bed, one knobby elbow propping his head onto his hand, legs raised behind him. He was wearing that stupid blue shirt of his with that gray triangle on the side, randomly placed. His eyes narrowed into a skeptical squint, “I thought you’d never be back.”

“Starting to think I might wanna go back,” Will rumbled softly, hopping down from the table as quietly as he could after hearing the snap of his window lock. He pulled off his mask, his hair all ruffled and untidy. “Who gave you permission to be in the Spider-Man’s room?”

“His boyfriend.” Mike replied, a dopey grin on his face just making Will appreciate his looks even more—his light spray of freckles, his nose, his pretty dark brown eyes, his large onyx curls paired with the smaller curls of his nape hair—as he continued on smugly, “Real nice guy. Handsome, even. So charming I ought to have given him a big fat kiss.”

Will slunk over, eyes pooled with a light and fond affectionate expression. He tossed his mask onto the bed, landing not too far away from Mike. As he grew nearer, Mike rose slightly as the mattress dipped with Will’s additional weight. He moved his fingers along Mike’s milky pale face, fingertips trailing Mike’s jawline.

“Careful, that’s my boyfriend you’re hitting on.” Will grinned, watching Mike’s eyes light up in loving amusement.

Will’s shoulders fell as the warmth of another’s lips pressed against his, every ounce of tension just draining from his body as his lashes fluttered and his green eyes disappeared behind his eyelids.

Mike shifted slightly as Will sat beside him, resting his body on his knees as he craned his neck further into Mike’s touch, smiling against Mike’s inviting lips. He brought his hands to Mike’s curls, only for Mike to pull away. His nose scrunched at the bridge and his brows furrowed, Mike snorted loudly, as if Will’s mother wasn’t asleep.

“Mike—“ Will gasped, despite the wide grin spread across his lips, his hand shooting up to cover Mike’s mouth as the other started to laugh. “You idiot—“

Mike licked the back of Will’s hand, and suddenly Will was surprised to find that his suit was still on. As he glanced back up, he found Mike arching a brow at him, smug and all-knowing.

“Dumbass.” Will muttered, but he pulled away too, sinking back into the softness of his bed’s mattress.

Whilst he was maneuvering to remove his spandex spider-suit, Mike sighed, shifting his position as he opted to instead sit cross-legged. He looked around, as if to find something to momentarily entertain him, or perhaps he didn’t want Will to think he was staring at him slipping off his suit—even though Will wore boxers underneath the thin fabric, so he wouldn’t even be that naked; but maybe it was just out of pure nature, humans were creatures of habit—and blindly reached for something red.

He pulled it over his head, fixing it to be centered as best he could without being able to actually see himself. Will grunted, disregarding his suit and rolling it up, stuffing it very, very, very far back in his closet—he usually hides it better but Mike is here and he’s rather focus on him—and then he turns, eyes scanning his room for a shirt and possibly some pants, only to be faced with Mike wearing his Spiderman mask.

“What’re you—“ Will gave his best effort to stifle the upcoming laughter but once it’s out, it doesn’t stop. “Oh, my god, you idiot.”

Mike tilted his head just before reaching a hand up to remove the mask off of his face, revealing his playful scowl, “Do I seriously look that bad? You could’ve at least pretended I look great.”

“You do look great— It’s just,” Will paused, taking the mask from Mike’s hands and tossing it onto his stuffed suit and kissing Mike’s forehead, “There’s a reason I’m Spiderman.”

Ouch. ” Mike winced, grinning and moving on the bed as Will returned from the side of the room he’d changed on, clambering up beside his boyfriend.

Now that they had finally settled, Will took a moment to pause and observe just how dark it had gotten in the short period of time he’d been there. The sky, once a blend of light sunset colors and pretty mist-like clouds, had a blanket of darkness settled down atop it, the moon starting to rise so far away.

“It’s getting late.” Will mumbled.

“Yeah.” Mike whispered in a hushed tone, his curls crowding around his face in such a way Will could only describe as adorable.

“I take it you’re staying here tonight, then?”

“Only if Spiderman’s okay with it.”

And with that, Will leaned down and kissed Mike again, huddling back into the warmth both his thick covers provided, and that his boyfriend’s form gave off.
