Minutes of the Third Quarterly Board Meeting of the Deadly Nightshade Garden Club

I Nominations for new Chairwitch
Chairwitch Archaniz reiterated her intention to step down as Chairwitch of this club. The secretary requested nominations for her successor.
Surian nominated Treasurer Vonnera for Chairwitch, citing her years of experience as Treasurer.
Kanikak seconded this nomination.
Alastair nominated Aimon for Chairwitch, citing his essential contributions to the Lower Sandis Garden Show.
Kanikak seconded this nomination .
Thionar nominated himself for Chairwitch, citing a new vision for the club.
Secretary Wully requested second for this nomination.
Kanikak seconded this nomination.
Secretary Wully reminded all members that voting will be conducted at the end of the current meeting. Members were reminded that using spells or plants to influence another member’s vote is prohibited under the club’s bylaws.
II Recap from Lower Sandis Garden Show
Aimon reported that the club’s submission to the Lower Sandis Garden Show was received with great success. Reports gathered suggest major strides in our efforts to reinforce the desired image of witches. Commendations offered to Outgoing Chairwitch Archaniz for her vision and execution of this event.
Kanikak raised the concern that the tent was not the desired shade of black as consistently as expected due to shoddy spell work. Floor open for suggestions for future shows.
Surian proposed use of deadly blackpod seeds, with perimeter guard to make sure no visitors touched the tent.
Aimon proposed brewing tea of the Night Ink plant and providing it to visitors as a free sample, thus depriving them of their ability to see color for the next hour.
Morwen proposed purchasing black tent.
Vote taken on all proposals. 7 votes for black tent, 2 votes for brewing night ink tea, 1 vote for use of deadly blackpod seeds. Motion to purchase black tent carried. Referred to Treasurer.
III Review of Universal Cat Translation Spell
Alastair- motion to perform the spell as discussed at previous meeting, citing expected value of understanding one another’s cats when gathered together.
Ceowin seconded.
Vote tally: 8 votes for casting universal translation spell, 1 against casting spell, 1 abstention. Motion carried.
Instructions on group casting provided by Kanikak, group casting of universal translation spell completed.
Several cats made simultaneous motions. It was unclear which were seconded. It is possible a motion to evict humans from the club passed by the vote of the feline members present.
Meeting temporarily adjourned due to general uproar in the room.
Meeting reconvened, silenced.
Chairwitch Archaniz - motion to reverse the translation spell, presented in writing.
Treasurer Vonera seconded via gesture, motion carried.
Brief recess as Morwen and Secretary Wully collaborated to create and circulate an instructional document on gesture-based casting.
Group casting to remove universal translation spell completed.
Silencing spell lifted.
Chairwitch Archaniz expressed thanks to Morwen for her quick thinking in casting the silencing spell to prevent any further bloodshed before the translation spell could be reversed.
Secretary Wully requested review of DNGC charter before next meeting to determine if cats can be voting members of the board.
IV Plant Exhibition
Chairwitch Archaniz requested all witches who brought plants for exhibition to place them on the central table.
Treasurer Vonnera presented a spotted winter ivy.
Surian presented a Giant Weaselweed.
Kanikak presented a Black Diamond snake lily.
Ceowin presented a smokeblossom bush.
Mowen noted that the spotted winter ivy appeared to be Treasurer Vonnera’s apprentice in disguise. After Morwen spoke sternly to the plant regarding this behavior, the apprentice voluntarily regained her rightful form.
Alastair- motion to evict the apprentice from the meeting. Surian seconded. Motion carried.
Kanikak noted that at some point the Giant Weaselweed had begun consuming the Black Diamond snake lily, with only its root visible to Secretary Wully at the time of this record.
Morwen demonstrated to the room the technique of tickling the Weaselweed until it regurgitated the snake lily. Snake lily examined and determined to be slightly tattered but largely unharmed.

[Minutes were temporarily suspended when Secretary Wully, along with the majority of members present, fell asleep due to the sedative effects of the smoke from the smokeblossom.]
Morwen reported that she applied pepper to the noses of all sleeping members, as well as providing caffeine upon awakening. General grogginess, traces of nasal peppercorns, and presence of strong tea corroborated this report.
All members are advised to review DNGC regulations regarding proper procedure for bringing a Category 1 Dangerous Plant to a meeting. Secretary Wully also directs members to the minutes of the 1st quarterly meeting, in which these procedures were discussed extensively.
Chairwitch Archaniz requested a volunteer to prepare a presentation on hazardous plant protocols for the next quarterly meeting. Morwen volunteered.
V Voting for New Chairwitch
Outgoing Chairwitch Archaniz presided over the voting for her replacement. She reviewed the three nominees, Treasurer Vonnera, Aimon, and Thionar, and opened the floor for any objections or challenges prior to voting.
Secretary Wully pointed out that Treasurer Vonnera had not noticed that the plant she brought was her apprentice, and had relied on Morwen to intervene. Brief discussion whether this invalidated her candidacy, following which Treasurer Vonnera withdrew her candidacy voluntarily.
Surian challenged Aimon’s platform regarding his contribution to the DNGC Lower Sandis Garden Show exhibit, pointing out that Aimon had been responsible for the tent, which was not black (see section 2 of these minutes). Aimon declined to withdraw his candidacy in response to this.
Morwen requested a five minute recess.
Recess granted by Chairwitch Archaniz; minutes suspended.
Minutes resumed after the recess.
Morwen, after conferring with her cats, asked whether anyone present had met Thionar before the previous meeting. General discussion revealed that Thionar had only attended one DNGC meeting before and was neither a member of the board nor even a general member of the club.
Morwen accused Thionar of being the wizard Antorell in disguise, whereupon Thionar abandoned his magical disguise and began a loud speech about his plans to take over the DNGC and from there seize control of all other witches. He was unable to finish describing this plot, as Morwen used a spell to melt him into a puddle.
Meeting called to order by Chairwitch Archaniz, who again presented the remaining nominee, Aimon.
Secretary Wully- motion to deviate from procedure in light of the unusual circumstances, to propose a new nomination.
Surian- seconded, motion carried.
Secretary Wully nominated Morwen for Chairwitch, citing her invaluable contributions to keeping this board and indeed the DNGC in general from descending into utter chaos.
Chairwitch Archaniz seconded this nomination.
Vote taken. Tally: unanimous, Morwen will be the next Chairwitch of the DNGC.
