"Onii-chan! Onii-chan!" Reiko yelled out as Rintarō resided in the kitchen, putting together a small meal for him and his sister. She called out to him again, a small smile coming to Rin’s face when he heard his little sister call his name, so sweet and loving, waiting for her big brother to sit next to her on the couch and watch Christmas movies together.
"Onii-chan, hurry up! It’s not Christmas if we don’t watch Christmas movies!" She complained, Rin rolled his eyes at his sisters dramatics.
"Calm down, Rei, Christmas is still like a week away," Rintarō said, humour in his voice as he finished making their food.
The soup let off steam, smelling warm and kind as Rin grabbed two bowls from the cupboard. He held the first one up close to the pot, pouring some soup in it. He could feel the slight burn on his fingers, taking in a deep breath until he finished pouring. He shakily set the bowl down, crouching down to the floor, muttering a cuss word to himself.
"Onii-chan! Can I start the movie yet?!" His sister yelled as Rin took a deep breath, feeling the burn on his fingers while he bit his lip to focus his mind on another pain.
"Give me a minute, Rei, I’m getting our food," he raised his voice, standing back up to get the rest of the soup once his hand started to cool.
He walked out, holding both bowls of soup. He quickly set them down on the small table in front of the couch, seeing his sister seated in between that and the table. Her knees pressed against her chest, her long, messy hair covered her face as she looked down. A small plushie of a red panda sat next to her while she continued to look down at something.
"What’re you looking at?" He asked after a moment as she looked up, her lazy, brown eyes that were so similar to his looked up at him. Rin looked at her hands, seeing his phone before inquisitively raising an eyebrow.
"I wanted to talk to mama, she isn’t answering me," she explained with a sad smile on her face, tears starting to roll down her cheeks as she wiped them away. Rintarō sighed, patting the couch next to him, silently telling her to get up. She scooted next to her big brother as he put his arm around her.
She immediately relaxed beside him, her tears fully letting out in a matter of moments. Rin said no words, he knew why she was crying, she knew he knew. Words have always been difficult to express in the Suna household. All they needed was each other, words did them no justice.
Rintarō looked out the window as he held his sister, the light Christmas music of the movie played in the background, joyful and cheery as Rintarō hugged his sister tighter, closer to him.
"It’s supposed to snow a lot this next week," he said, looking at the fresh layer of white on the grass. Reiko stayed with her head looking away, sniffles still there as Rintarō frowned.
“I hated our last home. We’d never get snow. Back at our place before the last, it always started snowing in November,” he said as his sister looked up at him, slowly turning her attention out the window in curiosity.
Her eyes lit up the moment she saw the sun high in the sky, the yellow of the sun tinting the snow, making it look like crystals in the day. Her mouth fell open at the beauty. She had never seen something so magical, something so mesmerizing.
Rintarō couldn’t help the smile that showed when he saw the look in her eyes, oh how he wished their mother had been there to see this. She softly smacked his arm, starting to speed up slightly as her face got brighter and brighter.
"Onii-chan! Let’s go play in the snow!" She cheered, already running to get her coat and shoes on as Rintarō sighed at the soup he had just prepared and the Christmas movie begging to be played before him.
"Onii-chan! Are you coming?!" She yelled, struggling to put her shoes on as Rintarō laughed.
"Wait a minute, let’s go find some snow pants first," he declared, standing up and holding his hand out for his sister.
~~
"Onii-chan? Can we go outside now?" Reiko asked, already getting annoyed with the amount of layers Rintarō was dressing her up in. "You’re acting like mama," she pouted, biting her cheek as Rin rolled his eyes.
"Mama would smack me if I didn’t bundle you up properly, also you look adorable," he snorted as Rei stuck her tongue out at him.
He finished bundling her up before putting on his own snow pants and coat, opening the door as his sister ran outside with her plushie, already giggling. Rintarō smiled at her, a smaller and more reserved version of the bright smile plastering her round face as she ran in the snow. He couldn’t help but pull out his phone to film her, knowing he would hold these videos close to his heart.
"Rin-chan! Come play with me!" She yelled as Rintarō smiled, putting his phone in his inside pockets before running out towards his sister.
They spent the whole afternoon outside, building snowmen, making snow forts, having snowball fights.
The two Suna’s smiled brightly, it was rare to anyone outside of the family but also so beautiful and kind. People passing by couldn’t help but smile at the two as they caught snowflakes on their tongues and made snow angels.
The fondness in Rintarō’s eyes for his sister was one nobody could take away. The fondness only increasing as he saw a certain silver-haired boy walking past, his headphones in and a plastic grocery bag in his hands.
Rintarō felt his cheeks heat up as his eyes looked over at them, a small, kind smile coming to his lips as he waved. Rintarō waved back, his heart beating abnormally fast, the whole world stopping in such a single moment of nothing more than a wave.
The moment broke by Reiko tugging on Rintarō‘s sleeve. Time reverted back to normal, the person just a bit before him looked away, continuing on his way while the cold air embraced his cheeks again. He looked down at his sister, seeing her so close to him before he kneeled down.
"What’s wrong, Reiko?" He asked as she pointed at the man crossing the road. Rintarō watched as he waddled over the ice like a penguin, nearly slipping and falling, which made Rintarō laugh.
"Who is that?" She whispered, into his ear, almost as if she was sharing a secret no one else but the two of them could know. Asked in such a soft way that made Rintarō smile.
"He’s a friend from school," he answered as Reiko looked at him, then back at the man, and finally looking back at the warmth in her brother's eyes.
"He’s pretty," Reiko said after a moment as Rintarō bit his lip.
‘Damn right he’s pretty’ he wanted to say ‘he’s so nice and kind as well’ he wished to announce. But for the time being, all he could answer with was a small hum, followed by ushering them inside for hot chocolate.
His sister didn’t need to know about his crush on his classmate, it’s not as if she’d understand his feeling. She was only six after all, she could barely even grasp the definition. Rintarō sighed as he sat down on the couch, his sister sitting down right next to him while they drank their hot cocoa.
Rintarō couldn’t help but look at his sister. Her cheeks still slightly rosy from being outside, her hair damp from the melting snow and sweat, wrapped up in her pj’s and blankets. Her favorite plushie rested between her chest and hot cocoa mug, looking at the Christmas movie playing.
He gave her a small kiss on the forehead, letting her head rest against his chest, the only thought in his mind being how much he loved moments like these with the people he loved.
__
The next day was filled with decorating. They often didn’t wait this long to make the Christmas tree but it was something they promised to do with their mother, up until she got caught in a business trip halfway across the country. So that brought the Sunas there, decorating the tree four days before Christmas.
Reiko was not too thrilled about that, seeing as Christmas was her favorite holiday. She immediately became the boss of the house when it came to decor, not that Rintarō would complain. He loved watching his sister’s mind work in different ways, watching her be creative in decor, putting things near each other and deciding whether they fit or not. It was something their mother often did before they’d gotten older, she’d always change up the way everything was set, the colors of the house, where everyone slept. It was something Rintarō had watched his sister and mother enjoy, never really caring for it much himself but also glad to watch his family be excited about.
"Onii-chan! That ornament can’t go there if one that looks just like it is less than 10 centimeters away!" She complained as Rintarō sighed.
Just because he loved seeing his sister's creative side does not mean she can get rude when it shows.
"You’re lucky it’s Christmas and I’m in a good mood," he said, taking the ornament off of the branch as his sister stuck her tongue out at him.
He stepped off of the ladder, circling the tree around and around, hanging up the ornament and looking at his sister, who was busy making paper snowflakes. Rintarō sighed to himself before pulling out his phone, seeing a message from their mother about how happy she was that it snowed. He smiled to himself, texting back a picture of the tree they (he) was decorating.
"Onii-chan, why do you like your phone so much?" Reiko asked, her brother immediately looking at her, putting his phone down.
He was silent, not even knowing how to start to answer such a question. His sister looked up at him after a moment of no answer, her baby fox eyes looking right into his more firm and sharp ones. He glanced down at his phone in his hands, looking around the room to try and think up an answer before a firm knock sounded on the door.
"Um.. I’ll go get that," he sounded, immediately heading for the door to avoid this awkward conversation.
He muttered a soft curse to himself for making that question so much more complicated than it needed to be, knowing he could’ve answered that in less than a sentence. He opened the door after hearing another soft knock, ready for a salesman or something along the lines to be there.
Instead he froze, his eyes widening and cheeks going pink as he saw his classmate before his eyes. He wore a small smile, his cheeks almost equally as pink from the cold outside with that green scarf he always wore to school in the winter. Rintarō opened his mouth to speak, nothing coming out before laughing awkwardly
He looked like a deer caught in headlights before slamming the door closed, crouching down with his face burning red.
"Rin-chan? Who was that?" Reiko asked as she walked up next to him, looking down at his red face.
Rintarō didn’t answer, he couldn’t after that shit show happened. He simply covered his red face as his sister tried to kick him out of the way to answer the door.
"Rei, you know you’re not allowed to answer the door," Rintarō said after a few moments as Reiko looked at him, slightly glaring.
"Well someone is being a tomato so I have no choice but to answer the door, it’s too bad your big bum is in the way!" She retorted as Rintarō groaned. How the hell could she make pretty decent comebacks at age six with no curse words?
Rintarō sighed, finally getting up and preparing himself to open the door, his sister looking up at him, confused, before he finally turned the knob. He saw Osamu standing there still, the small smile on his face returning when they made eye contact.
"Sorry about slamming the door in your face, I didn’t expect you to be there," Rintarō said, somehow making the nerves in his voice pretty well to non-Suna’s. His sister gave him a weird look before smiling brightly at the silver headed man.
"Onii-chan," Reiko whispered, pointing to herself and to the man before them. Silently telling him to introduce each other.
"Oh yeah, this is my little sister, Reiko, Reiko this is Miya Osamu," he explained as Osamu waved at her, making Reiko’s eyes lit up.
"You’re Onii-chan’s classmate, right?!" She asked as Osamu nodded, opening his mouth to say something before she cut him off. "You’re really pretty, and tall, not as tall as Onii-chan, but still really tall. Hey! Are those cookies? We were gonna make some tomorrow. Do you wanna help us decorate our tree? I know it’s weird we haven’t decorated it yet but-" she explained quickly, being cut off by Rintarō covering her mouth.
"You’re overwhelming him with all of your questions," he muttered to her before pushing her back into the room with the tree, turning back to Osamu.
"Sorry about that, she can get just so inquisitive," he explained as Osamu laughed.
"It’s no worries, I was jus’ here ta drop this off," he said, handing over the smallish container he was holding. Rintarō opened it, seeing Christmas pie inside. "I jus’ remembered ya sayin’ how much yer family loves pie," he continued, causing Rintarō to look up at him with a soft smile.
"Thank you, my mum will love this once she gets back," he said, closing up the lid again as Osamu smiled, about to open his mouth to say goodbye when Reiko came back.
"Wait! Help us decorate our tree!" She quickly said before pointing at her brother. "I love Onii-chan, but he sucks at this!" She said, ignoring the obvious glare Rintarō was sending her.
"Reiko, I swear to god…" he started as Reiko looked at him, seeing how genuinely pissed he was before Osamu slightly grabbed his sleeve, turning his attention away from her.
"I wish I could but I’ve got stuff I need ta do, if I knew ya were decoratin’ yer tree, I definitely woulda made time to help," Osamu said in a soft ways to the Sunas, both of them hearing a different meaning. "Thank’ya fer inviting me, Reiko-chan," he said as he softly pat her head, making her smile, helping make Rintarō not as upset.
"Now, Suna…" he started as both Suna’s looked at him, "Rin!" He differentiated, pointing at Rintarō while he pointed at himself. Even if he just used a part of his given name to help address one Suna, Rintarō blushed a scarlet maroon. "With the pie, ya have ta keep it at a certain temperature and ya have ta still put certain toppin’s on it to get that certain flavor," he continued to explain as Rintarō nodded along.
Osamu waved goodbye after the explanation, that same small smile on his face that made Rintarō’s heart beat faster and blood rush into his cheeks. He closed the door after he got to the sidewalk, already feeling thankful he wore a hoodie, knowing he would’ve frozen to death at the cold air outside.
He let out a small sigh, putting the back of his hand to his burning cheek. The best in his heart starting to slow down from the fast pace beating with every passing second. He felt a pair of eyes staring at him the whole time, he looked up slowly at them. His sister walked over, grabbing the pie from his hands before heading to the kitchen.
"You better not eat that, we’re sharing that with mum, you know," he called after her as she swatted her hand at him.
"Of course I know, I’m just putting it in the fridge while you freak out about your crush," she teased as Rintarō rolled his eyes.
"Shut up, help me finish decorating the tree," he retorted as his sisters giggled could be heard from the other room. The soft pitter-patter of her footsteps sounding through the house as she ran back towards him.
"I get to put the Angel on top!" She announced with a wide grin as Rintarō laughed.
"Only if you help put the rest of the ornaments up," he said as she nodded enthusiastically, already reaching for a bow of ornaments to put up.
They finished off the tree within the next half hour, each ornament placed in a specific and even spot, making the tree look perfect at every angle one would look at it. Rintarō smiled to himself as he unboxed the angel, his sister’s eyes were big as she watched him.
He unwrapped the paper around the angel, the golden wires forming her wings being undone first. The wires connected down to her sides as Rintarō unwrapped more and more, the white wires forming her dress with hints of the golden wire sprinkled around.
Rintarō felt his sister's excitement beside him, knowing she was shaking in her jammies, waiting anxiously until she could put it on the tree. Rintarō smiled over at her before handing over the angel, watching her hold it as if it were a fragile baby.
Reiko looked up at him, standing up and heading towards the tree. That was all Rintarō needed to stand up himself and pick her up, lifting her to the top of the tree to put the angel on top.
He took a step back, still holding Reiko on his hip as they both admired the tree. It finally looked complete: the lights surrounding the tree, the ornaments carefully placed all around, the angel topping it off. Both of the Sunas smiled at the tree, looking at each other.
"Four day’s til Christmas," Reiko said as she looked back at the tree.
"Four days," he repeated as he looked back as well.

"You want to make candy cane cookies?" Rintarō asked in disbelief, looking at the recipe his sister showed him on his phone. Her face bright and colorful as she nodded, pointing at the tan and red dough of the cookies shaped and baked into candy canes on the phone. "You do know I’m absolute crap in the kitchen, right?" He inquired as she stuck her bottom lip out, Rintarō sucked in a breath as he prepared for her speech.
"Onii-chan, we both know mama loves cookies, right? ‘Santa’ loves cookies, right?-"
"You and me both know Santa isn’t real, Rei,"
"Shut up, play along!" She snapped back before going back into her persuasive speech.
"I love cookies, that girl Aoi that sits across the classroom from me loves cookies, everyone loves cookies. We need to make Christmas cookies and what’s better than candy cane ones?!" She explained as Rintarō groaned. Damn her and her persuasive personality. "Also you’re not that bad in the kitchen," she said as Rintarō raised an eyebrow at her, knowing that the comment was absolute bull.
"Okay, maybe you are kinda bad," she admitted, "but not when it comes to baking, it’s usually more complicated foods you destroy," she convinced as her brother rolled his eyes, knowing this battle was probably going to end up in her favor.
"Plus, I know a certain someone that would be happy to get cookies from you," she whispered in his ear as Rintarō glared at her, knowing exactly who she was talking about from the teasing in her voice. She really was a sneaky Suna.
"You’re six, don’t matchmake me with someone you just met yesterday," he protested as she giggled, her laugh sweet as candy to the ears, but mischievous to her brother. Rintarō couldn’t help but roll his eyes and sigh at her antics, finally deciding she won this one. "Fine," he agreed as she smirked at him, her plan finally coming together.
"Yay!! Thank you, Onii-chan!" She smiled, running over to the door to get her shoes and coat on. Rintarō groaned, silently hoping he wouldn’t mess up these cookies before following after his sister, making sure both him and her were properly bundled up before heading out.
The snow in the outside immediately bit Rintarō’s nose, making him glad he wore a hoodie under his coat. It was getting colder and colder everyday, much to Rintarō’s dismay. He always hated the cold, he often got cold even when it wasn’t supposed to be cold, always wearing a hoodie outside of school.
Rintarō grabbed his sisters hand as they approached the bus stop, waiting silently for it to arrive. They boarded when it eventually came, Rintarō held his sisters hand tightly to keep her close as they made their way to the back. He sat down quickly, placing Reiko right next to him and keeping her less than a millimeter away while his arm was around her shoulder.
Reiko softly hummed along to the Christmas music playing in the background while Rintarō looked at the recipe on his phone, making a list of what they needed. The bus stopped a few more times on their way into town, picking up more and more people until Rintarō had to place his sister on his lap for others to fit.
He gave her his phone, watching as she quickly opened up her favourite game: one where you manage a restaurant as a cat. Rintarō watched her play, keeping an eye on where they were to make sure they didn’t miss their stop.
"Rei, our stop is next," he warned quietly between the two of them as she nodded, clicking on a small jar near the door, grabbing tips in the form of fish.
The bus came to a stop as Rintarō took her off his lap, grabbing back his phone and holding her hand tightly in his. The lady next to them stood up as well, letting them out of the seat before sitting back down. Rintarō slightly bowed his head to her, earning one back before he shuffled off of the bus with Reiko holding his hand.
They quickly made their way towards the store, Reiko humming the theme song of and anime she enjoyed while Rintarō quickened his pace toward the store. His sister skipped along side him, only to stop and smile up at him once they arrived at the store.
"Let’s make this quick," he frowned, Reiko smiling happily and slipping into the store, Rintarō right behind her.
~~
"Rei! That’s too much sugar!" Rintarō exclaimed, grabbing the bag of sugar out of his sisters hands before she could dump it in, causing her to gasp.
"There’s never too much sugar!" She protested, trying to grab the bag from her brother who held it high above her head, one hand on his hip.
"Maybe if you want diabetes, but I don’t think mama would like that very much," he retorted as she rolled her eyes, going back to beating the batter of the red part of the cookies.
She muttered angrily to herself as Rintarō crushed up the candy canes, putting them in bags and hitting them with a hammer, separating them into two bowls to pour into the batter. He felt the eyes of his sister on his back as he crushed the candy canes, he glanced behind him.
"What?" He inquired as she bit her lip, hesitating to say something to her brother. "It’s kinda hard to answer what you wanna say if you don’t say it," he teased, bringing over the bowls of peppermint candy canes to the table. He sat down next to Reiko, still watching her from the corner of his eyes.
"Why couldn’t you answer why you liked your phone so much?" She asked after a moment. Rintarō put the bowl of peppermint down, sighing to himself. He had to answer the question now.
"What did you mean by that question?" He asked as she tilted his head at him.
"Why do you like your phone so much?" She said as if it was obvious. It was a question that Rintarō should have no problem answering, so why was he having trouble?
"You look like you’re about to poo yourself," she muttered as Rintarō snapped his head towards her, looking grossed out.
"I like my phone because it can easily distract me from things I don’t like," he answered as she raised an eyebrow at him.
"So you don’t like grandma, grandpa, and our cousins? You’re on your phone a lot when we’re with them," she said as Rintarō sighed.
"You know how I feel about the extended family, I don’t want to be around them so I’m on my phone a lot," he answered as she nodded, looking away for a moment, something else on the top of her tongue.
She opened and closed her mouth, not knowing how to form her thoughts into words.
"Why are you on your phone a lot with me? Does Onii-chan not like me?" She finally asked, avoiding eye contact with Rintarō as he frowned.
"You dumb dumb, I’m on my phone a lot with you because I like to take pictures of my baby sister growing up," he teased, patting her head with one of his hands as she poked her tongue out at him. But Rintarō could see she was beaming after that.
The happy smile plastering her face as they finished baking the cookies was there to prove that, and Rintarō, true to what he said to her, was taking pictures.
~~
"I’m not doing this," Rintarō said, holding his sister's hand as they stood at the end of the Miya’s driveway. Reiko looked up at him, raising an eyebrow. "Don’t judge me, you little dumb dumb! You might just fall in love some day as well," he hissed at her as she smirked.
"I didn’t say anything, also love?" She asked, holding the container of cookies as her brother blushed.
"Shut up," he shot back, causing her to snicker as they walked up the driveway.
The snow, in the past few days, started to pile up, just enough that it was barely to their ankles. Rintarō was still freezing from the cold, of course; that would never go away.
Reiko rang the doorbell, knocking a few times as well for good measure. She put her hand back in Rintarō‘s, cuddling close to him to stay warm while the ruckus inside seemed to escalate with them announcing their presence.
A loud "’m gettin’ it!" sounded from inside, moments later emerged one of the twins; the blonde one. Rintarō felt slightly disappointed, he wanted the grey-haired twin, but he would never let Atsumu know that.
He looked around for a moment, looking confused before saying, "Suna? What’re ya doin-"
"Why do you change your hair to be so ugly?!" The small voice below yelled as Atsumu looked down, Rintarō immediately slapping a hand to his face.
"Reiko, you can’t just say that!" He exclaimed as she looked confused at him.
"It ain’t my fault his hair looks like cat piss!" She snapped back as Rintarō looked surprised with her use of language.
"Suna Reiko," he scolded in a stern voice as she pouted, looking down and away from him, allowing Rintarō to turn his attention back to the man in front of them. "Atsumu, I am so sorry for my sister's behavior," he apologized, bowing slightly as Atsumu just laughed.
"Na, it’s fine! She’s adorable, who woulda thought ya could be such a parent, Mr. Slacker," he laughed as Rintarō rolled his eyes, slightly regretting shutting his sister down.
"Speakin’ of this lil one, why’d she say ‘change ma hair?’ I’ve never met her before," Atsumu questioned as Rintarō sighed.
"This little demon has been a little obsessed with Osamu lately and was probably hoping he would’ve answered the door and not you," he explained as Atsumu smacked his hand over his heart, gasping in offense.
"Why does she like that scrub?! ‘SAMU COME’ER!" He yelled immediately, sending shockwaves into the Suna’s at the volume of the voice. Another voice screamed back an "’M COMIN’!". Somehow being louder than the one in front of them.
"Holy poop," Reiko muttered in a surprised manner as Rintarō chuckled at her vocabulary.
"You should hear them at school, they get way worse," he explained with a small smirk on his lips as Reiko scrunched up her face, making Rintarō laugh while his grey-haired classmate arrived at the door.
"Suna?" He muttered, surprised as Rintarō and Reiko looked at him. "What are ya two doin’ here?" He asked as Rintarō looked at his sister, stepping back to let her tell him.
"Me and Onii-chan made cookies! We wanted to give some to you!" She smiled at him, holding up the pretty, christmas-ie container filled with cookies.
"Oh thank ya, this’s so nice of ya two," he thanked, "oh wow," Osamu hushed to himself in excitement as he opened the container.
He was met by a peppermint smell and the warmth coming from them. He let out a small gasp, admiring how carefully neat each cookie was placed. He looked up, seeing the two Suna’s staring at him with wide eyes.
"D’ya wan’ me ta eat’em in front of ya?" He asked, a small smile on his face as both Suna’s nodded, looking at him in wonder of his opinion. He snorted at their expressions, eyes like daggers staring at Osamu, then at the cookie, over and over.
"Do ya two want one?" He asked, amusement in his eyes as both of the Suna’s pretended as if they weren’t interested. Osamu snorted, bringing one of the peppermint cookies to his lips.
The sweet taste of the cookie hit his tongue the moment he bit down on it. When Osamu smiled softly, the Suna siblings knew he liked it and both let out a breath of relief.
"That’s really good," he smiled, his eyes fell closed as he took another bite, admiring the peppermint taste burning his tongue with sugar.
Reiko smugly smiled to herself, flashing it at her brother while he rolled his eyes at her.
"I told you he’d like them," she teased, Rintarō‘s cheeks going slightly pink as Osamu looked at him.
"Osamu likes all foods, of course he’d like these cookies," he responded as Osmau laughed, Reiko raising an eyebrow at him.
"You said ‘like’ two times in the same sentence," she pointed out as Rintarō rubbed her head aggressively.
"Okay, and that’s our que to leave, thanks for trying them, Osamu," he thanked as Osamu just laughed, Rintarō’s heart skipping a beat.
"It was nice of ya to bring some ta me," he smiled at him, his big eyes staring right into Rintarō’s as he nodded. "Ye should have dinner with us sometime, I bet Ma would love ta make some thin’ for yer family, she’s always talkin’ about how pretty yer Mama is," Osamu pointed out as Rintarō hummed.
"I’ll definitely text our Mama about it," he said, squeezing Reiko’s shoulder as she glanced at him. "So, see you later?" Rintarō asked, slightly hoping in his heart that he could see him everyday.
"Yeah, that’d be nice ta see ya again soon," he said, that same warm smile on his face that lit up Rintarō’s cheeks, thankfully being hidden by the cold air.
"Mhm, bye," he softly said, barely audible as he turned around, his sister’s hand in his as they walked back down the driveway.
He felt eyes on him, waiting until they got out of earshot of the grey-haired man.
"What?" He asked his sister, looking down at her as she snickered an evil laugh.
"Onii-chan’s got a boyfriend, onii-chan’s got a boyfriend!" She sung loudly as Rintarō glared at her.
"I will smack you, you little stinker!" He yelled, chasing after her as she ran towards their house.
__
"My god, it’s snowing like crazy outside," Rintarō muttered to himself as he looked out the window, the darkness painted with white drops of snowing raining from the sky. Surrounding the house with coldness.
"Onii-chan, I’m sleepy," Reiko announced, wearing her jammies as she held her red panda plushie close to her side.
After spending the whole day watching Christmas movies, Reiko just wanted to lay down and fall asleep, knowing the next day was Christmas Eve. Knowing their Mother was coming home soon to spend the holiday with them.
Rintarō sighed, nodding to her before moving away from the window to grab his sisters hand. They walked together to her bedroom, kind of small and secluded, but homely and warm. Rintarō slept in the room next door, close to his sister but far enough away so he could have his own space.
"Are you excited for Christmas?" Rintarō asked as Reiko got onto her bed, looking up at him as if he had just asked a stupid question (which he had).
"Onii-chan, I’m six years old, Christmas is the one time a year I can get anything I want. Mama spoils us when it’s Christmas," she pointed out as Rintarō nodded.
"That’s true, she really does go all out," he agreed as Reiko yawned, hugging her red panda plush close to her. Rintarō smiled slightly at her, looking at her tired face.
"Goodnight, Onii-chan, sleep well," she whispered as Rintarō gave her a kiss on her forehead. Her eyes closing as he started to pull away.
"Goodnight, you loser, sleep sweet," he smiled, muttering the last part to himself as he got off of her bed.
He stood up fully, walking towards the door. He took one last look at her before turning off the lights, closing the door just enough so there was a singular strip of light leaking in. As he walked to the living room, he looked out the window. The snow fell fast, covering everything outside in thick layers. He just knows they’d have to shovel the next day.
Rintarō felt a buzz from his phone against his thigh, taking it out and seeing a message from his mother. He opened it, hoping it was good news. His face went still as he read the message:
‘I’m sorry, Rin, the current snowfall doesn’t look like it’ll lighten up soon. I don’t think I can make it home when I planned… but please don’t worry!!! I’ll be back home before Christmas morning! I promise you.’
He should’ve known nothing good would come from a text from his mother. She only ever discussed babysitting and business trips with him. It’s not like she would start texting him about anything else.
‘Okay’ he responded, no other words being able to come to mind to that information. No good words came to mind whenever he got a message from his Mom. It wasn’t like she was going to pay attention to the reply anyways. She’d sent the information text. She didn’t need a response.
Rintarō sighed, looking around the living room at the disorganization. He frowned slightly to himself before grabbing a trash bag to pick up the mess.
__
Rintarō felt a chill through his spin as he woke up in the middle of the night. The air around his face felt so cold, making him shiver under his sheets. Holy hell, why was it so cold? He could nearly see his breath in the air.
He felt an even colder wave rush through his body as the door creaked open, a small figure in the shadows holding something. Rintarō shivered, too cold to move as the figure came closer.
"Onii-chan," the figure spoke, voice low and tired. It calmed Rintarō down, knowing that the figure was his sister, "I think the power went out, it’s a lot colder than normal," she explained, Rintarō shivering under his blanket.
"Not shit it’s colder than normal, I’m freezing. Get in here, I’m gonna freeze to death by watching you stand there not under the covers," he said, moving over to allow room for his sister.
She climbed into the bed, her plushie close to her chest and she snuggled under the sheets. She was too tired for a smart-mouthed comeback, Rintarō realized as he was too cold to deal with bickering. He picked up his phone, freezing to the touch as his fingers danced across the screen.
"Yup, power outage for the whole neighborhood, says the power should come back in a few hours," Rintarō said as he checked his phone, it was about 75% charged, it should last until the power came back.
"So what do we do until the power comes back?" Reiko asked, moving closer to her brother as he hugged her close.
"Sleep, there’s not much we can do to stay warm, not in the house at least," he said as Reiko snuggled into his chest.
"This is gonna be so fun," she responded, already sounding half asleep as Rintarō groaned.
"It’s barely even 8am and this has to happen," he said after checking his phone again, hearing his sister sigh in disappointment beside him.
Silence surrounded them. Rintarō couldn’t go back to sleep like this, with the cold air being everywhere except where he and his sister laid.
"This is an awful Christmas," the small voice next to him said. Rintarō held his sister close to him, feeling her body shake. "You shouldn’t be the one having to stay home with me, you should be out with friends while Mama and I decorate the tree. You hate that stuff, you shouldn’t be doing this stuff you hate with me," she expressed as Rintarō frowned, running his fingers through her hair.
"Reiko.." he started, another shiver running through him before he continued, "Reiko, I do this stuff because I want to spend time with you. I never had anyone who cared look after me when I was younger. I’d always be at a daycare during Christmas time and it was awful. I wanted both you and Mama to feel like you could rely on me to protect you, I didn’t want you to feel so lonely at daycare during the Christmas season when we could be doing fun stuff at home," he explained as Reiko sniffed, digging her face deeper into her brother.
"I wish we could’ve spent this time together, I wish Mama didn’t have to work so much," she whispered, whipping her tears against Rintarō’s shirt.
"She’ll be home soon, we’ll all spend Christmas together, just like always," he comforted, rubbing small circles into Reiko’s back as she cried.
He let the silence play through, just the sound of soft sniffles and breathing until they both eventually drifted off to sleep.
__
"Checkmate," Reiko announced, wrapped up in her winter coat and blanket as Rintarō frowned.
"Why are you good at chess? You’re six," he said as she shrugged.
"I’ve gotta do something while you’re at volleyball practice, I just watch a lot of chess streamers," she said as Rintarō sighed, feeling a buzz against his bed they were still sitting on. His room happened to be the warmest in the house at this time.
"It’s a text from Mama," he announced upon looking at his phone, opening it up to read the full message, "the power should be back on soon, keep staying warm and I’ll be home later tonight," he read as Reiko cheered.
"We’ll be warm again and Mama will finally be home!" She smiled as Rintarō nodded. "To celebrate, Onii-chan, let’s do something fun!" She gasped as Rintarō raised an eyebrow at her, not knowing what her definition of ‘fun’ meant.
~~
"I’m not too sure about this.." Rintarō announced, pouring out the bag of makeup him and his sister had just bought from the store down the street.
"Come on, Onii-chan, Mama lets me do this stuff with her all the time!" She laughed before opening up an eyeshadow palette.
"Reiko, it’s gonna get on my bed," he said as she rolled her eyes.
"We can wash it when the power comes back on, it’s not gonna stay forever," she smirked as Rintarō frowned.
"I hate this, fine," he accepted, closing his eyes, calmly, as a soft brush hit his eyelid. It felt weird at first, but started to feel nice after a few seconds.
The way the brush went all over his eyelid, before branching out towards his ear, the soft sensation of the brush on his eyes felt relaxing. He felt right. Reiko took it away for a moment, tapping against the palette again before touching the crease of his eyelid. Another color was added. Rintarō didn’t know makeup could feel so nice, maybe it was the way his sister applied it, maybe it was that he was experiencing something new. Whatever it was, Rintarō enjoyed every moment.
"Onii-chan is smiling," she teased as Rintarō huffed, "maybe your boyfriend will say you’re pretty with makeup on," she continued to tease as Rintarō glared at her, his eyes still closed but with her giggling.. he could tell she got the message.
"He’s not my boyfriend," he said, slightly biting his lip, "we’re barely even friends," he finished as Reiko huffed.
"Maybe you should ask him out," she answered as he blushed.
"I don’t even know if he likes guys!" He protested as she laughed.
"Honey, please, if he doesn’t like guys then I can fall in love," she laughed as Rintarō was slightly taken back from her words.
"I’m going to pretend you didn’t just call me ‘honey’ and ask about this whole not falling in love thing," he announced as Reiko sighed.
"Love is weird and just doesn’t seem like something that would happen to me. The girls in my school say I’ll find the right crush some day when I say I don’t have any on the boys in our school," she said, her voice going slightly quiet as Rintarō frowned.
"You know what, next time you see those girls tell them that love is cringe and making your whole personality be about some boy you like is old fashioned. What is this? The 1950s?" He asked as she laughed, using him as support while she regained her balance.
"You’re right, Onii-chan, love is cringe, but what you have with that guy who isn’t your boyfriend yet is kinda gross, which makes it kinda cute," she said as she started to put some lipstick on him. "Tell him you love him, I want you to grow up and have little babies I can take care of!" She smiled brightly as Rintarō smirked.
"I don’t know how we would have babies but okay, next time I see him, we’ll talk," he smiled slightly as she clapped her hands together in excitement.
"Yay! Now look at yourself in the mirror," she laughed as Rintarō opened his eyes. He quickly opened his phone to the camera app, seeing a horrendous color mash. He looked over at his sister, seeing the evil spark in her eye. "Don’t you just look wonderful, Onii-chan?" She laughed as Rintarō tackled her.
"You did this to me on purpose you little butt!" He, playfully, said as Reiko was caught in a laughing fit.
"I don’t know what you’re talking about," she said in between laughs, "don’t you think you look beautiful?" She asked as Rintarō started laughing as well.
"Reiko, these colors look awful together," he said once they both started to calm down.
"I know, why do you think I picked them?" She let out a tiny snort as Rintarō sighed.
"You’re an evil little thing, who raised you like this?" He asked, knowing exactly who raised her like that.
"I only learn from the best, and the best seems to be you, Onii-chan," she giggled as Rintarō smirked proudly.

Rintarō watched as the clock on his phone turned to 8pm. His phone battery nearly died as he sent the same message to his mother for the hundredth time in a row: ‘where are you? The power still isn’t on’.
His phone clicked away another minute, the message not opened, his phone battery a percentage lower. His sister was between his arms, shivering away. He closed his eyes, hugging Reiko tightly before feeling a buzz from his phone.
"Low battery: 5%," he spoke, looking out the window to see the snow still falling. His eyes lit up the moment he saw something though. "Goodness," he whispered to himself before getting up, wrapping the blanket tightly around his sister.
He took the small bag they got from the grocery store, going into their living room. He quickly grabbed a price of paper, seeing as his phone was mere seconds away from death. He wrote out a quick message before taping it onto the tv. He ran into his sister's room, grabbing two poorly wrapped gifts, stuffing them into the bag.
He ran back into his room, grabbing his own gifts (slightly nicer wrapped) and put them into the bag. He woke his sister up, her sleepy eyes barely opening as she shivered harder.
"Onii-chan," she whispered as Rintarō cursed to himself. He took off the covers, holding her close to his body as he picked her up.
Rintarō quickly made his way over to the door, slipping on his shoes improperly before opening the door. A majority of the lights were still off, some lights had been on. Rintarō felt his breath come back as he saw the Miya’s lights were on.
He closed the door behind him before running across the street, not even bothering to look for oncoming traffic. He ran a few houses down the street, only slowing down when he got to the Miya’s driveway. He made his way to the front door, his feet hurting from running on ice, his ankle probably twisted from the amount he’d almost fallen.
Rintarō knocked on the door, hard as he tried to calm his breathing down. The door opened a moment later, Osamu behind it. He was first surprised to see Rintarō, his lips slightly turning into that smile of his before opening slightly with a gasp escaping him.
"Osamu look, I really hate to ask for help but our house has been out of power for probably eleven hours. It’s freezing and my phone is dead and I don’t know what to do," he blurted out before Osamu could get a word in.
"Rin c-"
"Samu, dear, who’s at the door?" A voice from inside called, most likely his mother from the sound of it.
"Jus’ a sec, Ma! Rin, come inside, I’ll get my Ma," he said, opening the door for them as Rintarō stepped inside. The warm air hit him, immediately warming him as he took off his shoes.
Rintarō breathed finally, still holding Reiko close to him as she opened her eyes, looking up at Rintarō.
"It’s warm," she spoke, a small smile on her face as Rintarō smiled as well.
"It’s warm," he released as she relaxed against his chest. And at the same time, a smaller woman rushed from around the corner. She looked just like Osamu, who was right behind her. She took in the sight of both Rintarō and Reiko holding each other, cold.
"Goodness, please take yer coat of and everything, you’ll get sick if ya keep wearin’ wet clothes!" She exclaimed, moving over Rintarō’s shoes as he stripped off his and his sisters' coats.
“Oh dear, what happened?” She asked, looking both Suna’s up and down as Rintarō looked off to the side.
“Well the power outage.. um, the power hasn’t come back and our Mother is out of town for work, I’m sorry if we’re burdening you,” he said as Mama Miya shook her head.
“’Course yer not botherin’ us! I’m so sorry that happened. But for now you need to take showers, it doesn’t look like you brought clothes," she paused before looking at Osamu. "‘Samu, dear, give ‘im some of yer clothes," she instructed as Osamu nodded.
Osamu stepped away for a moment, Rintarō about to follow as Mama Miya softly touched his arm, making him slightly jump.
"Oh sorry dear, but is it alright if I take yer sister to get some clothes?" She asked, her face sweet as Rintarō looked at Reiko.
"She seems nice, I’ll scream if I need help," she whispered to him, the last part quieter but from Osamu’s chuckle, he knew they all heard it. He softly let her down, patting her head affectionately before following Osamu.
They walked down the hallway into a medium sized room. A pair of bunked-beds stood next to the door with a closet across from it. The room was a warm yellow color, matching the photos sitting on the desks and dresser in the room. Rintarō couldn’t help as his eyes wondered, softly smiling at every image of the twins up to no good.
"Holy hell, why’d ya put yer shoes on like that? There’s snow all over her socks," Osamu said as Rintarō sighed in the warmth, looking over at Osamu with a small shrug.
"I was in a rush, the moment I saw lights on in the neighbourhood next to us I knew some of our houses would be on," he explained as Osamu walked closer to him.
"And out of all the houses ya could’ve gone ta, you chose us?" He asked for clarification as Rintarō slightly blushed.
"Reiko isn’t good with new people, we know you guys more than anyone else here," he stated as Osamu hummed, sounding like he didn’t really believe him.
"Can I take a shower?" Rintarō asked as Osamu nodded, handing him a pile of jammies before taking him to the bathroom.
"There should be a towel under the sink, just yell if ya need anythin’," Osamu smiled, starting to turn away as Rintarō softly grabbed the sleeve of his shirt. Osamu looked back at him, waiting for him to think through his words and speak.
"Um, where should I put my dirty clothes?" He asked, pulling his hand away from Osmau and holding it behind his back.
"Oh, um, just come find me when yer done," he smiled, seeming slightly sad as he hurried away.
Rintarō went into the bathroom, closing the door behind him quickly before breathing in and out.
____
Rintarō could feel his cheeks warm up, not from the heat in the bathroom, no. The warm feeling in his heart came from Rintarō wearing Osamu’s clothes.
The hoodie was warm and comfortable, slightly short in length, but more lose around his shoulders. The pants he was wearing were different, still short. They only just reached his ankle. But they felt much more comfortable, soft against his leg every time he moved.
He felt comfortable, warm, he felt in such ways words couldn’t even be used. All Rintarō knew is that he liked wearing Osamu’s clothes.
He walked out of the bathroom, still holding his dirty clothes. He heard laughter coming from down the hall, realizing it was a Christmas movie playing on the screen. Reiko was dressed in smaller jammie pants and a shirt, gasping at the movie in front of her eyes.
Rintarō couldn’t help the smile forming on his lips at he watched the wonder in her eyes on the Christmas movie. He eventually noticed who she was sitting next to: Osamu.
She lay against him, his arm holding her slightly as they watched the magic on the screen. Rintarō felt his heart skip a beat at that, not knowing how much he loved the sight of his sister and Osamu in such a domestic way.
"Onii-chan!" Reiko excitedly exclaimed as Rintarō blushed, slightly waving at her.
"Oh, Rin!" Osamu yelped, grabbing his attention before getting up and walking over to him. "So yer room is go-"
"’Samu’s under the mistletoe!" Atsumu yelled, interrupting Osamu and grabbing everyone’s attention. Both Osamu and Rintarō looked up, seeing the fake plant hand there above them before they looked at each other.
"Ma we don’ really gotta-"
"‘Samu, you know the rules," she answered as Osamu looked at Rintarō, looking at him with a soft look.
"It’s fine, I’d honestly rather kiss you than Atsumu," Rintarō smirked as Osamu laughed.
"So it’s alright if I..?" Osamu asked, as Rintarō rolled his eyes with a smile.
"The sooner you kiss me the sooner we have your family stop staring at this embarrassment of a scene," Rintarō said as Osamu sighed.
"Yer right ‘bout that," he said, slowly moving in to press a soft kiss against Rintarō’s lips.
His lips were soft, warm, they felt safe. Rintarō let himself relax against his gentle touch. He felt so tight against him. When those lips moved away a moment later, Rintarō couldn’t help the way he desperately wanted to chase after him, to press their lips together again.
"Um, let me take ya to yer room," Osamu said, facing away from his family and grabbing Rintarō arm. Rintarō was in too much of a daze to flinch away, letting himself be taken to where him and his sister will be staying.
"Rin, oh god, I’m so sor-" he started off as they stood in the doorway to where Rintarō and his sister would stay.
"Osamu, just give me a moment," Rintarō cut him off, softly patting his shoulder as he processed what had just happened. "Oh god, we kissed," he said with slightly widened eyes as his finger brushed against his lips.
"Yes! That’s why ‘m sorry! I didn’ want ta steal yer first kiss, I should’ve made sure ye were really okay with it before rushing," he said as he barely touched around Rintarō’s arms.
"Samu, it’s fine, I said it was okay to kiss me. Don’t feel bad, if I was uncomfortable, I would’ve said so," he responded, looking slightly down at Osamu’s hands.
He started to pull away, watching as Rintarō’s face slightly frowned in disappointment before fully touching his arms. He enjoyed the way Rintarō relaxed in his touch.
"Okay, ‘m still sorry for stealing yer first kiss though," he apologized, rubbing soft circles into his arm as he huffed.
"You don’t even know if that was my first kiss," Rintarō playfully rolled his eyes, a small smile coming to his face as Osamu laughed.
"That’s true, but ‘m guessin’ it was," Osamu smirked as Rintarō looked off to the side, his cheeks a blush pink.
"What gave it away?" He asked, glancing back at Osamu as shrugged.
"No idea, jus’ta lucky guess," he said fondly, slowly taking his hands away from Rintarō and grabbing his clothes. Osamu started to turn away as Rintarō grabbed his arm, bringing back close to him.
"Thank you for always being safe, it’s really cool," he admitted, Osamu’s cheeks immediately pink, only getting pinker as Rintarō placed a small kiss on his cheek.
The door quickly closed the moment the kiss was over, Osamu raised his hand to touch his cheek. The smile and warmth felt throughout his body was something Osamu could get used too.
____
"Onii-chan! Onii-chan! Onii-chan!" was what Rintarō had awoken too, getting shaken awake by his sister yelling into his ear. "Onii-chan wake up! It’s Christmas!" She laughed, jumping up and down as Rintarō opened his eyes.
"Alright, I’m up," he yawned, sitting up and stretching his body out. His sister jumped up and down with excitement, laughing and giggling with her red panda plush in her arms.
"Jesus, you’re so energetic," he yawned again, getting out of bed before hearing a knock on the door. Rintarō made his way over there, patting his sisters head as he walked by before opening the door. A dark blush on his cheeks came as he saw Osamu in fox jammies.
"Hi," Osamu said, his cheeks lighting up the same as Rintarō’s.
"What can I do for you?" He asked as he leaned against the door, staring at Osamu with his fox eyes.
"My Ma says she would love for ya to open presents with us, and I would also really enjoy it as well," Osamu admitted, smiling slightly at Rintarō as he nodded.
"Alright, when should we be out by?" He asked as Osamu pulled out his phone, checking the time.
"We usually open presents at 8, but I think we’re openin’ ‘em at 8:30," he said as Rintarō nodded.
"Okay, we’ll be out soon then," he smiled softly, closing the door as he bit his finger.
"If you still think he’s straight, I’m smacking you," Reiko deadpanned, breaking Rintarō out of his trance as he rolled his eyes.
"I’m going to the bathroom, you get ready as well," he said, pointing at her as Reiko rolled her eyes.
Rintarō opened the door, heading towards the toilet as he looked at the pictures on the wall. He wondered where his mother was.
~~
"Oh Rin! I’m so happy you’ve decided to join us! We were going to invite you to play board games with us but ‘Samu said ta let ya rest," Mama Miya laughed as she ghosted her touch on his arm, making sure not to make contact this time.
"Thank you for letting us stay, it was very kind of you," he responded, bowing his head slightly as she laughed.
"Of course, dear! ‘Samu talks about ya all the time! If ya asked me, it was about time we finally met," she smiled as Rintarō blushed, looking at Osamu with a smirk as he rushed over.
"Okay Ma, thanks for that- oh wow!" He said, looking at a fake clock on his wrist. "8:30 already? I guess it’s time to open presents!" He said, softly grabbing Rintarō’s waist as he lead them away.
"You talk about me?" He muttered under his breath as Osmau’s face went tomato red.
"Shut up, we are not talking about this right now," Osamu said as Rintarō snickered.
The doorbell rang all of a sudden, silencing the laughter and noise in the room for a moment as Atsumu stood up. He walked over to the door, opening it to a small gasp. Rintarō tried to see who it was, his eyesight blocked by a pillar.
"Sunarin! Sunarei! Ya might wanna come here!" Atsumu yelled as the both of them stood up, Osamu and the twins parents following close behind as Rintarō’s breath caught in his lunges. Reiko gasped loudly, her face getting more and more bright as she ran towards the person, tears in her eyes as she yelled.
"Mama!" She yelled, smiling as her mother crouched down, holding open her arms.
"Reiko, my girl! I missed you so much!" She cried, holding her daughter close as she wiped away her tears. "Hey Rin, I’m not getting any younger, get over here," she smiled as Rintarō complied. He walked over, smiling a warm smile as he got down and his knees as his mother hugged him tightly.
"I’m so sorry, my boy, I know how much you hate Christmas. I’m sorry you had to do all of this," she apologized as Rintarō looked back, smiling softly at Osamu.
"Christmas was kind of fun this year," he whispered to himself as he felt Reiko elbow him.
"Onii-chan! Does that mean Mama can get her present now?" She asked as Rintarō looked at Mama Miya.
"Of course, dear, please I would love for you to give yer mother the first gift," she said as Rintarō nodded.
"Just hang on a second, I have to go get it," Rintarō said as he stood up, slightly running to where him and his sister slept.
He opened the door, getting back into his knees to look under the bed. He reached under, feeling the bag from the night before touch his fingers. He dragged out the bag, opening it to see a small gift wrapped in wrapping paper, knowing it was his mothers.
He stood up, nearly having a heart attack once he saw Osamu standing there with a smile on his face.
"Jesus, you can’t just scare me like that," he said, poking Osmau hard in the chest as he laughed.
"Sorry, Reiko jus’ wanted her plushie," he said leaning against the doorframe with the plushie in hand. Rintarō leaned against the other side of the doorframe.
"You could’ve just yelled for me to grab that too," he pointed out, as Osamu shrugged.
"That’s true, but then I wouldn’t get to be alone with you," he said as Rintarō rolled his eyes, about to make a cheeky comeback as his sighed.
"Well it looks like we get to be alone a bit longer," Rintarō laughed, Osamu’s eyeline followed his as he found the mistletoe hanging above them.
"I hate my brother, he moves this thing everyday," Osamu said as he rolled his eyes, placing both of his hands on Rintarō’s hips.
"It seems to me that you kind of like this," Rintarō said as he slipped his hands on Osamu’s shoulders.
"Well, yer not wrong about that," he said as Rintarō laughed, slowly leaning in so their lips would connect.
This kiss was different from the first, the both of them still nervous but not as soft and quick. This kiss was slower, mouths open as they experienced every part of learning to kiss. Teeth touched, laughs were exchanged, soft, kind sighs of relief exchanged between the two of finally being able to kiss like this.
"Rin, Reiko said- oh!" A voice let out as Rintarō and Osamu separated, looking at the voice that spoke. It was Rintarō’s mother.
"Sorry Mama, I, um, we were just-" he said as his mother burst out laughing.
"Just hurry up, your sister is getting impatient," she said as he nodded, still blushing like crazy.
"Um, nice to meet you, Mrs-" Osamu started as they walked closer to her.
"Please just call me Rumiko, I’m not even 35," she said as she crossed her arms, those same fox eyes Rintarō has looking at him with amusement. "Plus, it looks like you’ll stick around for a while, this one wouldn’t make out with someone he didn’t like a lot," she teased, looking at Rintarō as he glared at her.
"Oh my god, Mom can you just go by the tree, we’ll be out in a second," he said as she laughed at him, leaving them alone though.
"Yer Mom’s kinda hot," Osamu said as Rintarō glared at him.
"I’m never kissing you again after that," he said, about to walk away before Osamu pulled him back, bringing him into a small kiss.
"’m just joking," he said, softly kissing Rintarō’s lips again as he sighed.
"I know, now let’s get to presents. Reiko can get very bossy when it’s Christmas time," Rintarō said as Osamu nodded.
"Merry Christmas, Rin," Osamu said, softly kissing each knuckle on Rintarō’s hand.
"Merry Christmas, ‘Samu," Rintarō said back, bringing their lips in for another kiss.
