Work Text:

"I remember me 'n Molly always being so hyped up for Babbo Natale or Santa Claus the night of Christmas Eve-" Angel was saying as the Hotel gang sat by the fireplace with blankets and pillows and coco in their hands.

The group had enjoyed light seeing, a tradition done by Niffty of all Demons whilst Alastor played Holiday music of olden times as they ventured through the snow.

Husker made his families passed down secret hot chocolate for the 'family' he now lived with~

Charlie, sitting beside Vaggie, couldn't help but feel tears as she watched her 'family' in such a way, coming together for the first time without a single squabble amongst them.

Sir Pentious had dinner ideas for tomorrow but for now, curled up in a new plushie blanket, contented, especially with Arackniss tucked in with him, watching the group from the couch.

Arackniss himself watched his little brother with the smallest of pains/joys bubbling up from some hollowed pit inside him. Hearing how HE'D made his siblings Christmas Eve night and morning worth it, even if Santa himself never came to town for them.

"Nissy had to bribe us ta bed just so's he wouldn't have to stay up all night wit us looken out da window~"

"That sounds wonderful, Angel!" Charlie gushed, hand over her mouth but unable to hide her beaming smile.

"Nah, nah, you don't know yet HOW he bribed us ta bed~" Angel returned and looked to his now much smaller spider brother settled in nice and warm with his partner.

"He'd sing us'a song dat we'd get ta join in wit if we got into bed and settled down~"

"Ooooooooh my God!!!! Adorable!!!" Charlie squealed and looked at the Ex-Hitman.

Everyone did actually and this made the spider Demon look at the blanket and poke the softness with a claw tip to keep from blushing at such attention.

He was a Killer!

Singing a song for his siblings to help them go to sleep on Christmas Eve..

It didn't have a scary ring to it!

Yet-

"We'd shut our mouths right up when he gave us the opportunity ta sing wit him and maybe one day you'll know why~"

"I'm not singing, Tony-" Arackniss whispered, already feeling the pains of nostalgia trying to claw its way out of his blackened soul and out of his mouth.

"Not asken tanight~" Angel assured and gave a genuine smile to his brother.

"It's in here-" Angel whispered, touching his chest right over what once was a beating heart, cutting the last string of the past from Arackniss' stronghold and out once more-

When Angel turned his back to speak more about what Niss did from him and Molly, Arackniss slowly began to shift from his cozy place in the blanket and around Pent's coils and opened his mouth and sang clear for all the foyer to hear:

-

Arackniss:

'I'm wishing on a star'

-

Angel's head turned very slowly at the sound of his brother's gentle voice starting the very song he'd been sung every Christmas Eve and instantly began to tear up.

His own memories bubbling up and knew exactly when to join~

-

Arackniss:

'And trying to believe
That even though it's far
He'll find me Christmas eve
I guess that Santa's busy
'Cause he's never come around
I think of him when Christmas comes to town'

-

Not missing a beat, though without Molly, Angel came towards his brother and began through his joyful tears-

-

Angel:

'The best time of the year
When everyone comes home
With all this Christmas cheer
It's hard to be alone
Putting up the Christmas tree
With friends who come around
It's so much fun when Christmas comes to town'

-

The spider siblings smiled at each other as the tears fell gently. Their voices matched their parts in a soft melody that touched everyone in the room.

-

Angel:

'Presents for the children wrapped in red and green'

-

/We'd go by homes all decorated for the Holidays on our walks from here or there~ See dere tree and gifts! Molly and I knew Santa wouldn't stop by a Mobsters house at an early EARLY age, but the fact Nissy did his damndest attempt at being one for us, it made it easier~ Made us, believe~/

Arackniss:

'All the things I've heard about but never really seen'

/Mama did her best ta make dah Holidays nice when I was a boy. When Pops was out, we'd make cookies. When I had some money, I'd find a gift special for her and her alone! But good things never last-/

Both:

'No one will be sleeping on the night of Christmas eve
Hoping Santa's on his way'

Angel:

'Presents for the children wrapped in red and green'

/Pops never did all that 'Holiday bullshit' and so we never got gifts, never made cookies, never did decorations either. It hurt at first, seeing the kids the next day wit dere new toys from Babbo Natale 'n us wit little treats and small toys from our socks! But then, it hit us, Molly and I one Eve just how hard 'Babbo Natale' tried to make it as special a time for us as he did for all the good girls and boys of dah world!/

Arackniss:

'All the things I've heard about but never really seen'

/One year, Pops stayed home for the Holidays- He didn't know I played the part of Daddy Christmas and so trying to go about making him 'appear' for Molly and Tony- Was harder then any job I did before! But I managed, if wit a bit of a white lie as ta why the socks were outside 'n why dey needed to be quiet bout his visit and little gifts!/

Both:

'No one will be sleeping on the night of Christmas eve
Hoping Santa's on his way'

-

Angel:

'When Santa's sleigh bells ring'

/Molly and I would leave out a clementine for Babbo Natale and our letter, our wish for being good~/

Arackniss:

'I listen all around'

/Seeing the letters every damn year- I never didn't cry!/

Angel:

'The herald angels sing'

/We never told Nissy that we knew it was him, or dat we knew he cried reading our letter to the Jolly Man! But our wish was always dah same and would never not be seeing as he was OUR reason for the season, the light, the spirit~ Our wish~/

Arackniss:

'I never hear a sound'

/"Dear Babbo Natale, it's us again~ We hope you're well, and your Donkey too! We have hay for him as well as your clementine~ Our wish, yes ours together if we may, is for our big brother Johnny to know how lucky we are that we have him as our own! Let him know he's all the gift we need, all the gift we want~ We love you~ And Merry Christmas!"/

Angel:

'And all the dreams of children'

/When Nissy was done, or to be right, when Babbo Natale was done filling our socks with little gifts he could afford, he'd gift us a night kiss and a whispered, 'I love you-amo voi due~' Then close our door without another word!/

Arackniss:

'Once lost will all be found'

/Mama passed away not long after Molly 'n Tony were born, they never got to experience Christmas like I did, what lite I could I should say. But I couldn't have them grow up like I had wit Pops. They didn't deserve it! And Mama would have wanted the joy to last what she left me wit and so?/

-

Both:

'That's all I want when Christmas comes to town
That's all I want when Christmas comes to town'

-

"I never forgot~"

"I'm glad to hear dat, Tony~"

The spider siblings looked at each other then touched foreheads gently, fluff pushed in different ways as they did so. Cream mixing with charcoal gray.

Their eyes were closed, Angel's' eight to Arackniss' four, but they knew what they saw in their silent memories.

A set of twins waking up on Christmas morning to a pair of socks filled with little things 'Babbo Natale' could offer them, and a wish come true when Niss was awoken to the sounds of joy and came to admire what had been given, the biggest smile upon his young face as he stood by their doorway~
