Fives had strolled around the upper levels of Coruscant for a while. It had been a nice way to unwind after the last campaign, the buzzing of the life filled city was calming; more than any silent room ever could be.
He enjoyed the sound of life, it felt so much more viable and alive to him than to meditate. The ARC trooper would of course never judge any of his vode for how they coped with the horrors of war and the aftermath of each campaign.
Simply being around people made him realize what he was actually fighting for, so those people could continue on with their lives without having to live in fear each day.
But now it was time to claim the chocolate pudding Jesse had promised him in return to not snitch about his blaster wound to Kix. Fives had gladly accepted the offer and later had a conversation with Echo where he ‘accidentally’ let it slip how he had noticed that Jesse had gotten shot on the battlefield but never reporting back to Kix. Echo, mother nuna as ever, of course immediately went to Kix to inform the fierce medic of this turn of events.
It was a win-win truly, Jesse got treated and Fives got his pudding. Fives just knew that Commander Cody would be proud of him.
Shaking off his amused thoughts, the ARC trooper punched in the access code for Torrents barracks. The door slid open with a soft hiss, allowing the domino twin entry to the dormitory of pure chaos. Fives swiftly made his way inside right as the door closed behind him.
There were the all too familiar noises of two vode wrestling echoing through the room, so naturally Fives had to investigate. He had a reputation to uphold as the gossip chatterbox of the 501st and he sure as kriff wouldn’t miss out on watching some good wrestling.
With enthusiastic steps, the domino twin rounded the corner only to be faced with Commander Cody and Captain Rex wrestling on the ground. Various parts of blue and orange painted armor were scattered across the floor while others parts were still attached to the two Vode.
Fives was utterly dumbfounded, his mouth wide agape as he stared at the scene unfolding in front of him.
Marshall Commander -I command like a third of the GAR and look like an orange roly poly because my battalion couldn’t choose a suitable camouflage color as their color- Cody and Captain -I cannot take care of myself for kriff and Kix has darts filled with sedatives because of me- Rex were both wrestling on the floor with no care in the world for their dignity.
Something really drastic and dramatic must’ve happened between the two Vode to act that way since normally at least Commander Cody had a stick, or more like the lightsaber of General Kenobi, shoved up his Shebse.
“What the kriff is happening here?”, the question escaped Fives mouth before he could even think twice, yet there was still an amused grin spreading across his face.
“Rex has been binding for too long”, Echo explained, not even looking up as he flipped the page of his holo novel, “for 8 days to be exact. Without a break, he even slept in it.”
Now it was Fives turn to give the Captain a disapproving look that Kix would’ve been proud of. The medic had drilled the rule into all of Torrent company, binding was allowed for 8 hours a day every day, since the chief Medic knew just how awful the Captain was at following health regulations.
Before Fives could state his disapproval of the Captains disregard for his own health, there was a loud thunk. Commander Cody had finally managed to wrangle himself on top of Rex, pinning him to the ground.
“Take it off”, the Marshall Commander hissed.
“Never”, the blond replied, refusing to accept his defeat as he sunk his teeth into the Commander's semi gloved hand. Said Commander let out an audible gasp as the fighting ensued again, both parties too stubborn to give up.
Fives couldn’t help himself but to chuckle, while he held the most upward respect for the blond man, the Captain always had truly always radiated small dog energy; lots of bark but also lots of bite. He was, to put it simply, incredibly feisty.
“So I suppose someone told the Commander, huh?”, Fives addressed the obvious nuna in the room.
“Yep”, Echo replied, making the p pop unnecessarily long.
“I’ve never expected to see Cody wrestle Rex into self care, seems like I gotta check that off my bingo card.”, the Arc chuckled, “The Captains gonna murder whoever told Cody in cold blood though. I lowkey feel sorry for the poor soul.”
There was a muffled screech coming from the floor where the two CO’s were wrestling, “Kix, count your days. I’m coming after your soul and caf!”
Based on the high pitch of the voice, Fives had no doubt that it was their lovely Captain and honestly, he had trouble choking down a laugh. Hearing their all so serious yet batshit insane Captain screech like a shiny on their first mission was just too good.
“I told you, 8 hours at a time, not 8 days. Suffer the consequences of your actions and if you dare to touch my caf, I’ll make sure to keep you in the medbay extra long next time. I’ve lost my soul long ago so better luck next time.”, the medic yelled from his cot, not bothering to even sit up.
“Kriff you”, the high pitched voice screeched.
Cody had finally managed to grab the feisty Captain by the scruff of his neck, like he was a naughty kitten, and dragged him towards the ‘fresher. Somehow he had also grabbed a fresh pair of blacks too, which he was carrying in the other hand.
He tossed his vod’ika alongside with the blacks into the ‘fresher while he spoke in a stern voice, “Vod’ika, I'm not playing about this. You will take that kriffing binder off, take a shower and then put on a fresh set of blacks. Afterwards, you will give me that karking thing so I can thoroughly scrub it. It must reek of sweat and Seventeen taught you better than that and I swear to the prime himself, if you attempt to escape. I’ll tell Fox and he will hunt you down”
Seeing how the Captain visibly paled at the idea of Commander Fox hunting him down was utterly comical yet hilarious. After all, their Captain was just someone’s vod’ika too.
