Planet Arus, Castle of Lions
MM/DD/23XX
"As you all know, there are 6 Voltron lions." Allura swiped her hand through the 3D holographic display and revealed an additional lion, a White Lion. Everyone had already been assigned with a lion which left them puzzled. "Hold on, 6? Where did the 6th one come from?" Hunk piped in. "From the visions we have seen of Voltron there were only 5 lions." Shiro looked at the princess unsure.
"The White Lion is full of mysteries that even I cannot explain how it came into being." Allura moved her hand for the white lion to fly over to her. "My father, King Alfor, only intended to build 5 of them but it seems like this one materialized on its own. It is why it is not included inside the form of Voltron."
"These lions are something greater than science can explain so I don't see why an additional lion that appeared out of thin air seems unexpected." Lance spoke up.
The coordinates of the white lion appeared to be inside of a nearby dwarf planet called Plyos. "There might be a little problem fetching it. It's being held on a Galra accommodated dwarf planet." Allura swiped her hands to zoom in on the planet's surface, revealing it to be heavily fortified. "Oddly too fortified for a dwarf planet. Maybe a planet they use to hold prisoners?" Pidge commented and Allura nodded. "Precisely."
"Can't we just leave it?" Keith asked Allura, making her think for a bit. "We could but if they were to find a paladin able to pilot it, our mission to remove Zarkon from power might become harder than it already is if they have one of the lions fighting for their side."
Lance scoffed at the princess' statement. "What's 1 lion able to do against 5? Outnumbered and overpowered, they wouldn't even stand a chance." Lance was way too nonchalant about this.
"What if the pilot out-classes us? What then?" Keith replied to Lance.
Lance shot him a look. "Then we form Voltron! All of us combined into a giant robot might be enough to scare them and they'll go running with their tail between their legs."
Allura sighed and proceeded with her explanation. “The White Lion is inventive and original. It is quick on changing paladins and my father could not figure out why it acted that way."
"Not only do we need to bust into a heavily fortified planet, we also need to search for a paladin that this lion won't get tired of." Coran twirled the tips of his mustache.
The newly assigned paladins didn't seem too happy about that fact, earning upset groans from the humans.
"We will need a paladin who is creative and tactful. Someone who does anything to overcome obstacles that may chip away at their very well-being. It would be hard to come by someone like that in an intergalactic war."
Allura waved her hand down for the White Lion to disappear. "In the past, despite being an independent lion, it was a quite powerful offensive and played a somewhat supporting role in battles with Voltron. For some special cases, apparently the White Lion combines with the Legendary Defender as the team's backbone.”
Coran added. "So we can't just leave it in Galra hands."
“Once all the lions are united, you will form Voltron, the most powerful warrior ever known, the Defender of the Universe.” The holograms of the main 5 lions came together and formed Voltron, each lion playing a specific part for Voltron. The Black Lion plays the torso. The Red Lion forms the right arm, the Green Lion forms the left. The Yellow Lion formed the left leg then the Blue Lion formed the right one.
Seconds after the hologram of Voltron was formed, the projections faded.
“This is amazing! Wait. Okay, we’re gonna be in there and flying lions. Got that part. How do lions turn into legs? Also, is this going to be a long trip? I have to pee. Do you people pee?” Hunk rambled.
"We don’t have much time. We'll work out a plan on how we can retrieve the white lion after we get the remaining 3 lions. Pidge and I will go after the Green Lion. Lance, you take Hunk and get the Yellow Lion. Keith, you stay here. If you locate the Red Lion, go get it.” Shiro turned to each of them as he explained what they’ll do.
“In the meantime, I’ll get this castle’s defenses ready. They’ll be sorely needed.” Allura then pulled up holo screens of the castle’s system. “I’ll ready a pod and load in the coordinates so that you can reach the Green Lion.” Coran led Pidge and Shiro to the pods while Hunk and Lance went to the Blue Lion.
The pod and the Blue Lion fly together then split off to fly towards their designated wormholes.
Coran came through the comms, “We can only keep the wormholes that lead to the other lions open for two of your Earth hours, so you’ll have to be quick about your work. The good news is that according to my readings, both planets are relatively peaceful. So, if you do get stuck, they could be relaxing places to live out the rest of your lives. Enjoy the trip!” He finished then everyone started having second thoughts about this, talking over the comms but quickly they were pushed through the wormhole.
As soon as the others went through the wormholes, alarms started going off. “What’s wrong? Did they find us already?!” Coran turned to Allura.
“No… It should be sooner until they do." Allura shut off the alarms then a screen began to fizzle. The screen displayed the White Lion, the lion no longer having a particle barrier and is now active. "Seems to be that the White Lion has already found a paladin.” Allura had a look of worry. Now the worst aspect of things quickly began to unravel.
"Should we pursue them, Princess?"
Allura shook her head. "No. We're too spread thin right now. With the paladins still fetching the Green and Yellow Lions, no Red Lion and are untrained. Plus, the castle isn't in the best shape to launch yet."
"... We have to hope that we'll be able to catch up with whatever the Galra are planning with what we’ve got."
