Chapter Text
"Brian?"
Tim knocks on the door- well, more like rings the doorbell next to it. It's quite hard to knock on Aurora's thick steel door. She's sure Brian might've heard it otherwise, but it's better to be sure. And she does also like pressing buttons.
There's no response after a second, so Tim presses the button again, and calls out louder, "It's Tim!"
There's rustling and a groan, "It's open!"
Aurora must've heard and had been paying attention because the door slides open with a whoosh, revealing the inside of the Drumbot's room. The main lights are off, and the curtains are pulled closed, obscuring the view of the cosmos from Brian's room. His TV is open, though it's likely only on a random channel by the scene of whatever live-action movie is playing. Brian's usuals have mostly been cartoons recently.
Brian himself seems to be underneath a lump of blankets on the carpet floor at the foot of his bed. His limbs are tangled in one of his thick comforters and his head is buried under several scattered pillows. His messy hair sticks up from under the mess, strewn all over.
"Hey. Can I come in?"
Tim peeks in, still standing at the edge of the door. She doesn't bother looking for the light switch; she knows they can both see fine in the dark. She sets down her armful of assorted knickknacks on one of Brian’s desks near the door, before stepping into the dark of the room.
Brian turns his head towards Tim's voice and mumbles, "Yeah." He scrunches his face when his hair finds its way into his mouth when he opens it and spits it out with a grimace.
"Why're you lying on the floor?"
"Maybe I just like lying on the floor."
"Well then. Can't argue with that. Although, I reckon that's not very comfortable, is it?"
"No..." At his own dejected response, Brian buries his head back into the pillows and hugs his blankets closer to himself. "Tiiiiiiiim..."
"What's wrong?" Tim chuckles, "Come on. Let's move to the couch. I can fix up your hair and we can watch a show."
"I was gonna make a nest of pillows, but I just ended up throwing them all to the floor and laying on them."
"Mood."
Tim stretches out a hand toward him to pull him up. Brian stares at it for a long moment before staring back at Tim and taking the hand but not doing anything to sit up. The two stare at each other for a while longer before Tim gives, and just tries to haul up all of Brian’s limp nearly seven feet body.
Tim gives a valiant effort, managing to lift Brian and pull him a few inches forward, before losing her hold on his arm and toppling over Brian with a thud and yelp from them both.
“Ow.”
Tim lifts her head up, indignant, “Well, what did you expect when you asked me to pick you up?? Maybe you would’ve had more luck if I was Raphaella, or maybe Marius or TS.”
Brian just groans into the pillow in response.
Tim flops back down on Brian’s torso and turns over to look at him, reaching out a hand to play with strands of Brian’s copper hair. “I brought a brush. And hair ties and clips.”
Brian answers with a rumbling grunt and shifts underneath Tim.
“I also brought something to watch.”
A begrudging whine.
“It’s My Intergalactic Space Pony.”
This got Brian to turn over onto his back and open his eyes to squint sourly at Tim. Tim just grins and props her head on her folded hands leanedleant over Brian’s chest.
“And three more heated blankets.”
“Fineee.”
With that Brian sits up and pushes Tim off him, letting her crash to the floor in a tangle of limbs and cloth with a yelp. He stands up, gathers his pile of blankets, and drops them all on Tim. Then gathers her up along with his little nest of cloth and moves them all to the couch on the other end of the room.
Tim lands with a muffled “oof”, buried in a mountain of blankets.
“They’re on your desk!” She calls out to Brian, sticking out a hand to point to it.
“Go get it yourself.” Brian leaves her and goes instead toward the TV to plug it in. Tim just pouts and resigns herself to shove off all the blankets over her. She sets them to the side and promptly rolls off the couch onto the floor. She then just crawls off and drags herself across the room to Brian’s desk.
She still doesn’t bother to stand when she reaches it and simply tries to reach an arm to the wadded ball of movies, accessories, and blankets to try to make it fall.
It would definitely have been easier and quicker if she’d just stood up, but she’d already embarrassed herself crawling there like a particularly large worm, and by god, she was going to stick with it.
Tim hears a snicker and looks over her shoulder where she’s gripping the edge of the table to see Brian laughing at her, already kneeling on top of the couch.
Tim can’t help but grin at him.
Finally, she uses her other arm to push herself up, grab the makeshift blanket bag, and chucks it straight at Brian.
It hits him, and the force of it makes him overbalance backwards down onto the floor. He yelps, followed by the sound of clanging metal. The knot holding the blanket together must’ve become undone, spilling its contents, because Tim also hears the clutter of several smaller objects scattering across the floor.
“Ha! Take that!” She grins triumphantly, pushing herself up and scampering over to Brian. Peeking over the back of the couch, she giggles at Brian, glaring at her. He just huffs and crosses his arm.
“Clean up your own fucking mess, you ass. So we can actually watch the movie already.”
“We should build a pillow fort, Bri.”
“And what? Leave me to clean it up too? No, thank you.”
“We don’t even have to clean it up! Just leave it there, and you can have a pillow fort anytime you want then,” she grins and turns over to lay on her back on the back of the couch, letting her head hang upside down, like a cat, in a way that cannot be comfortable at all.
Brian mulls over the idea for several moments before seeming to realize, “NO. With how often you and Jonny are here, there’s a very high chance it’ll all just get absolutely soaked in blood.”
“Aww. What are you, Ivy?” Tim pouts.
“I don’t need statistics to predict anything with you two and violence.”
Tim just laughs, “Fine. You’re right anyways.”
She slides the rest of her torso down the couch and rolls over her side to actually sit on it.
“Come on. Let’s fix this place up already.” She reaches out a hand to Brian, more to stabilize him than any more actual attempts to pull him up.
Between the two of them, it isn’t long before they finally manage to lay out the mess of blankets and pillows on the couch. Tim hands Brian the spDVD case of the last season of where they left off of My Intergalactic Space Pony, and the two settle down to watch Sptwilight Sparkle solve the problem of the week with the power of friendship and also space magics.
