There's a big, fancy party. Flashing lights, loud music, booze (though not for Tony). A classic Stark Industries party. So of course Tony and Pepper are there. They have to be, as the faces of the company.
Tony used to like these parties. It used to be thrilling and fun. These days he'd prefer to just stay home. Start the new year with Pepper. Without anyone watching them, that is.
It's not that bad, he decides, when Pepper takes his hand. The countdown starts. Five, four, three, two, one. They kiss at midnight. Fireworks go off. A happy new year.
