Alisha dreamt of exploring space all her life, reaching for the stars and beyond. Going to different planets and learning new things. She wanted to be the best space ranger ever. Nothing could have prepared her for what would happen with the Turnip. Nothing could prepare her for what would happen with Buzz.
But then, then she met Kiko and she was more incredible than all the stars and planets combined. Alisha fell in love. She missed Buzz, of course she did. But meeting Kiko was a gift. A light and a joy she never imagined she would have. In a way… the crash had been a gift. Being stranded had been a gift. She would never have met Kiko otherwise. She never would have met the woman who would one day be her wife. Alisha was certain they would marry. From the very first day they met.
Kiko was sweet and beautiful and she made Alisha laugh when she had forgotten how. She stood by Alisha through everything, no matter how difficult things became. She was Alisha’s guiding light, her compass. Alisha no longer explored space and that was strange but Kiko helped her explore other things. Her job, this new home they were all creating together, her grief over Buzz. Slowly but surely, Alisha felt that this was her home too. Kiko was her home.
Her home, her partner, her everything.
She would always love Kiko. No matter what. Until the day she died. She’d never regret any of this. Except that Buzz didn’t get to know Kiko very well. Her best friend and her wife… she’d have liked for them to have a friendship too. Maybe in another life.
