Work Text:

Lumiose City bustled below Dash and Allison as they tuned out the cacophony of sounds and distractions, choosing instead to bask in each other's company from upon their rooftop. The effulgent pyrotechnics that blazed across the sky served as a resplendent backdrop for such an occasion: the new year was fast approaching, and the two lovers Had both wished to spend the night together alone rather than at the celebration below.

Dash's strong arms encircled Allison's waist as they stood there, bodies pressed together in a loving embrace, the scintillating sparks that illuminated the air seeming to dance in time to the beating of their hearts.

"So, Dash, what's your New Year's resolution?" Allison asked, her eyes alight with mischief and merriment.

A wry chuckle escaped Dash's lips."I don't believe in New Year's resolutions. They're just grandiose promises that people make to themselves and never follow through on. Better to set goals and make positive changes throughout the year, you know?"

"Oh come on!" Allison chided, her lips curving into a playful smile. "You've gotta have at least one New Year's resolution. It's a chance to start anew, to set goals and strive for self-improvement."

Dash fell silent, his thoughts in overdrive. There was, in fact, a resolution he had set for himself, as early as mid-December, at that. He wondered if he should tell her about it. But if he and Klara had paid each other to keep their mutual assistance quiet, he'd be a hypocrite if he told. He really wished Allison wasn't giving him those eyes.

He sighed. "Well, if you'd really like to know a resolution I might keep, I guess I'd like to get better at..."

But he never got to finish his sentence, for the final, explosive bursts of fireworks lit up the sky, completely drowning out his words. As midnight dawned on the metropolis, Allison and Dash found themselves lost in each other's gaze, the electricity between them palpable as they leaned in.

Their lips met in a slow, lingering embrace, each of them savoring the taste and texture of the other. Dash's hands moved from Allison's waist to her back, pulling her closer as he deepened the kiss. She wrapped her arms around his neck, her fingers tangling in his hair as she returned his ardor with equal fervor.

Saved!

At last, they pulled apart, Allison's lips swollen from the intensity of their kiss. She looked up at Dash with a mix of mischief and desire in her eyes. "So what were you hoping to get better at this year?"

Fuck.

Dash laughed softly, then brushed a stray lock of hair away from his lover's face. "It doesn't matter," he crooned. "All that matters is that I love you."

"Come on, please tell me?!" she begged. "I wanna know!"

He leaned down to kiss her again, this time more gently. "Maybe I'll show you before the year is over, if I can even manage to find the time to hone it."
