dusk and dawn

Summary:

just two entities chilling on a couch, dressed all fancy

Notes:

wanted to draw some opposing but inevitably intertwined forces/phenomena and went with something Extremely Simple - dawn and dusk (only because those two are characters in my own country's lore, destined to meet only once a year - during the summer solstice when the sun almost doesnt set and dusk immediately hands the sun for dawn to ignite - but you may as well think of their two digures in the drawing as Day/Night or Sun/Moon etc).

Work Text:

Harrowhark and Gideon ate drawn in the style of Alphonse Mucha. The two are sitting next to one another, Harrowhark on the left and Gideon on the right. Harrowhark is a brown-skinned young woman with a dark buzzcut and dark eyes. She is wearing a black toga-like dress and a black veil over her head. Atop the veil is a silvery headdress depicting a moon and a star. She is clutching Gideons arm and looking at the viewer. Gideon is a brown-skinned woman with shoulder-length wavy red hair that is cut short on one side. Her golden eyes are looking at Harrow. She is wearing a white toga-like dress and atop her head is an elaborate golden headdress depicting a sun.

Notes:

i knew straight away i wanted to imitate Alphonse Mucha's style and ended up referencing 2(ish) of his works. Harrow's pose is based on Summer from his "Four Seasons", while Gideon's is based on Autumn, also from "Four Seasons". I struggled with Gideon's hair a bit cause i wanted her to look mucha-y enough but still somewhat true to her character and so i ended up referencing Mucha's "Job" to create this sort of flowy/messy do. Still has an undercut though!

It's not very soulmates-y but i hope it's romantic enough.
