Work Text:
NYC, what a town.
It was healing nicely after the Kraang invasion. The turtle brothers are doing their best to recover from their injuries. But those injuries can’t stop them from having their fun. They are all on top of the Brooklyn bridge giving the young Casey Jones the luxury that is “grabbing a slice”.
“So this is ‘grabbing a slice’? I don’t get it.” Casey questioned
“Wait for it,” Mikey replied excitedly. Casey takes a bite and finds the amazing world that is pizza.
“So much better than rats” he said as everyone agreed.
“Hey, the rest of the world we saved is pretty great too” Leo said to Casey.
April gets the group for a photo. Then a text message with photos of their good friend Cassandra was what made them find out that she’s Casey’s mom.
“THAT’S MY MOM!” Casey exclaimed.
“There goes the space-time continuum,” Donnie added.
Raph goes up to Leo enjoying his own slice of pizza.
“You did it little brother. You really did it. I'm proud of you.” Raph said.
“It wasn't about me, it was about all of us doing what needed to be done because we're heroes.” Leo said to his big brother.
Raph chuckles, “You said heroes” Raph teased as Donnie and Mikey laughed at that comment.
“There it is, gentleman, our home. What a town.” Donnie said.
“Beautiful.” Mikey added.
“And if it needs defending, we’ll always rise to the challenge.” Leo triumphed.
“Speaking of which, you know what challenge I'm going to rise to? BEATING THAT RECORD!” Raph challenged and everyone excitedly cheered.
“No way! No, okay, fine. All right, Big Raphie, let’s do it!” Leo exclaimed.
Everyone chanted “RAPH RAPH RAPH!”
Raph beat the record! Barely, there were a lot of close calls but he did it! Leo’s brother kept rubbing it in his face. But Leo didn’t care, he was happy to be with his family and seeing them being safe and happy. His recovery from the Kraang invasion was the worst of all 4 brothers. He promised them to never do something crazy like that again.
He pinky promised to Mikey. He swore on everything to Raph and Donnie.
He would never break a promise.
He would never hurt them like that again.
