"Sir, sorry, can I speak to you a moment?" Lloyd asked quietly as his teacher passed his desk. When he nodded and stopped, Lloyd continued, his voice shaken and eyes watering, "my... sorry, I'm just seeing my dad tomorrow, before his hearing on Thursday and I feeling really paranoid about it. I just... I think I need to go the nurse's office..."
"Ofcourse, take the work home and complete it in your own time. Here's a pass, don't worry about coming back, there's only half an hour left." He let Lloyd go, unquestioning as always.

2:46 P.M.

"Kon'nichiwa, watashi no ai." Lloyd waved to Brad as he entered the bathroom that was practically abandoned by the school, save for tagging the walls or skipping class.
"Lloyd, you already know I do not understand Japanese. I'm scared of what you just said to me." Brad flew a paper aeroplane at his best friend (missing terribly), before offering him a seat on the counter.
"Whatever. I hate this school, man." Lloyd leaned on Brad's shoulder.
Gene rolled his eyes, "where's morro? get caught?"
"right here, I know you’re obsessed with me but really, Gene, give it a rest."
"I'm gonna doxx you on twitter."
"Ginger slag." Morro kicked Gene's bag out of the way at sat beside him. "So, can we do it at either of your places or do we have to go to Lloyd's?"
Brad shrugged, "We can do mine, no biggie, or stay out all night and do it at a gas station like we did with Morro's."
"No, I have to sleep before I visit dad remember. And it's his parole meeting Thursday, so after I'm hanging out with Pix and the NCHS lot." Lloyd took a sip from Brad's water bottle before gagging and spluttering. "What the fuck is that vodka!?"
"Nayaghan." Brad took the bottle back, sticking his tongue out at Lloyd.
"Hey, if I can't speak to you in Japanese you can't speak to me in Korean."
"Okay, fair. I called you a wuss." Brad snorted, despite Lloyd hitting him and taking the bottle again.
"Have you been to any classes at all today?" Lloyd cringed as he drank from the bottle, before passing it across to his cousin.
"Uh duh, I just slept through them." Brad shrugged.
"I almost feel bad for your teachers." Morro snorted, passing Gene the bottle, "I feel extremely bad for Lloyd's teachers, considering he uses his shitty family to skip class."
"Look, I spent my whole childhood being traumatised, I get to use it to my advantage now."
The groups conversation continued on until the final bell rang, letting them leave school without getting into any trouble, even if they were the first people out the gates.
5:34 P.M.

"My mam's picking me up soon..." Lloyd spoke over the TV, still leaning against Brad.
"Okay... Want me to hang out after the hearing? I can meet you at that noodle place you always meet your friends at." Bras suggested, carefully petting Lloyd's still drying hair.
"I dunno how the others would feel about you being there but I'd... really like you to be there. Thank you, Brad."
"Ofcourse dude."
Lloyd buckled himself in, resting his head tiredly against the care window.
"Anata no kamigata ga suki." Was all Misako said before driving them both home, the pair too emotional to hold a proper conversation with each other. The next two days would be emotionally exhausting for them both, as they always were.
Lloyd just had to hope his father really had changed, and that he truly was as supportive as his mother seemed convinced he would be.
