Chapter Text
San was still riding the high of getting bonded to the loves of his life and it was a month later. The rest of the coven found it adorable and endearing so San got all the cuddles he wanted (which was heaven to his wolf).
San was currently shifted and playfully wrestling with Wooyoung while Mingi sketched some designs on the couch, the rest of the coven were out either at their jobs or doing some errands so Mingi was left to watch the two stir crazy canines. “Careful you two” Mingi called out after one of the two canines nearly cracked their skull against a corner for the fifth time since they started wrestling. Both Wooyoung and San yipped before moving back into the centre of the room to continue. Though before the two could resume their match (San was totally winning. Wooyoung was absolutely letting his puppy win) a silver light slowly showed itself causing San to whimper as fear crawled its way through his small body. Wooyoung, hearing San whimper, moved to cover the pup’s body with his own before Mingi, who stood up as soon as he registered the new aura, scooped the two up to cradle protectively against his chest.
The trio hoped that the light wasn’t malicious but it arrived so suddenly that it caused all of them to be tense and wary. Before Mingi could move to grab his phone, the light flashed brightly, blinding the three creatures and taking the trio without a sound.
The same happened to the rest of the coven. The world was frozen as the group of eight disappeared.
Once they got their vision back, Mingi quickly looked down at the two canines in his arms, releasing the breath stuck in his throat at the sight of both of them safe. San was being covered, fully, by Wooyoung’s orange fur so the dokkaebi couldn’t see the wolf’s muzzle, or anything apart from his fluffy tail’s tip. “Mingi, do you have them?” Mingi heard Seonghwa call out, causing the tall male to look up to find the rest of his lovers.
Wooyoung jumped down and shifted as soon as his four paws were on solid ground. The two lovers walked over to the others so they could figure out what was happening. Mingi handed San to Yunho who kept his eyes on him even while the rest of the males started to figure out what was happening. The doctor raised his hand to softly ruffle the pup’s fur between his ears, hoping to rouse the canine. Yunho’s eyes narrowed in concern as San gave no reaction to waking up, quickly looking up to gaze around at his lovers, accidentally making eye contact with Seonghwa who easily read the concern in the doctor’s eyes. Seonghwa looked back down at San at the same time a note flashed to existence in the middle of the pillow filled circle behind the group.
“Well let's see what the note says. First, Jjong baby, did you see anything” Jongho shook his head at Hongjoong causing the vampire to sigh softly before he led his coven to the note, noticing Seonghwa lagged behind to stand next to Yunho who still had his hand on San's forehead.
“He’s not waking up hyung, what’s going on?” Yunho's voice was soft as he turned worry-filled eyes to his hyung “i don't know love, i don't know. There's a note that Hongjoong can read that hopefully will shed light on this whole thing.” Seonghwa said, wrapping an arm around the taller male's waist.
The coven huddled around their leader, who told them to sit down (he casted a worried eye to Yunho and Seonghwa and San who still hasn't woken up) who picked up the note and just looked at it for a minute.
Jongho nudged Hongjoong so the vampire could read it out.
Dear the Kim Coven,
I am not here to hurt you or San. I'm just here as a friend, or acquaintance if its more comfortable, to let you read what went through San’s mind and what he experienced when you weren’t with him.
San is going to be asleep in his wolf form since I do not want to bring up anything traumatising or upsetting to the wolf.
You may choose who reads but I will warn you, there might be a second book arriving after you finish the one that's going to appear after this note. There might also be some more people to arrive but that is still being decided.
Food and drinks will appear in any breaks you have. You may rearrange the pile of pillows and blankets to your desire, i have purposely made it close to the corner of the room so you could use the corner as a safe space to place San’s form if you so wish.
If you have questions about anything, you may call my name.
Time outside this room is stopped so you do not have to worry about missing anything.
At your service
-Dreamfyre.
(to the foxes: if you so wish to shift at anypoint you may. You are not stopped from doing that.)
(to the seer: I have temporarily stopped your visions as to give you a break and to let you focus more on what is being read.)
The coven looked at each other in shock “so, this person, Dreamfyre, brought us here to read about what happened from Sannie’s point of view” Yeosang said, looking around at his lovers, feeling Wooyoung pull him into his side. “Seems so Sangie. We might as well sit down and get comfy.” Mingi said watching as a book appeared in Hongjoong’s hands.
The coven quickly made a little spot to place San for now because they all know they will be taking turns to hold him, they just haven't figured out what order.
Once the pile of pillows were good and they all sat down, the book in Hongjoong’s hands, the lovers all started to figure out who would start reading “why not just do it in order of oldest to youngest, it’ll be easier that way” Jongho said, earning agreeing hums and Hongjoong handing the book to Seonghwa. “Now onto how we can hold Sannie” “why not just have him in the person reading’s lap.” Wooyoung answered the seer. The lovers all agreed to that so Seonghwa softly picked up the wolf pup and placed him on his lap before picking up the book.
The cover had a picture of all eight of them together and there was a blurb on the back causing Seonghwa to read it out.
When San ran in front of an oncoming truck to push a young boy out of the way, he wasn’t thinking of anything beyond getting the child to safety.
The coven smiled at how kind hearted their wolf was.
And he certainly wasn’t expecting the ensuing accident to be a blessing in disguise through which he meets — and falls in love with — all seven members of Seoul’s most powerful coven.
Seonghwa looked up before he turned the book back over and opened it to read the first chapter.
