Summary:

Jason arrives at the tower with a child in his arms, after taking the toddler from his training camp.
A story on how Damian joins the Titans.

Chapter Text

Dick and Jason were in the office, it has been a few hours since Jason and some unknown Redhead, carrying a toddler, came into the tower.

Gar and Tim were playing video games, as Conner sat pretending to read, they were all snooping to see what Jason was up to.

It had been months since they heard from him, and they honestly missed him.

Rachel herself made it look like she was busy with a test she had already taken.

"Let me call the kids." Dick opened his office door, as everyone  turned to give him their full attention.

Dick just nodded, he knew they were waiting. "Good, you're all here."

Rachel noticed the small child on Dicks side, watching everyone intensely. The child was dressed in desert clothing, looking around confused at everyone.

"So long story short. This is Damian, Jason and Roy need us to watch over him well Bruce is on the Watchtower."

Rachel leaned forward, looking for the toddler.

"So with Dami around we have new rules. No weapons below head height of Tim, try not to mention the man in Black, with horns. Small English words, Damian is Arabic, so go slow."

Rachel smiled at the idea, as Dick instructed everyone. Why where they not toention Batman? Could the child speak some English?

"Who is Damian?" Tim lifted up his hand to ask the question.

"A loaded question. Quick version: bruces. Bruce is unwear of him, we will break it to him later." Dick nodded, "More of that later. Dami, these are the Titans, Jason has told you about."

The green eyes stared at her, as he looked her over.

"That's Rachel, my girl." Dick nodded in her direction. "That's Gar and over there is Conner. The little blue eye sparkle on the floor is your older brother, Tim."

"We got a baby!" Tim jumped up excited.

"It's a boy!" The redhead laughed, waving his arms.

"Oh!" Tim cooed.

"Fuck sakes, Roy." Jason shook his head laughing.

"Gimme the baby!" Tim rushed over to Dick with his hands out excited.

"Dami does bite." Jason warned, as Tim took the toddler.

"Mine now." Tim blushed, as he took the toddler to the couch. "I am your big brother!"

Rachel smiled, as the room filled with Love as Tim cuddled the toddler close, Damian not fully understanding what was going on, but felt safe and warm.

"So, you can handle him?" Jason turned to Dick.

"I have help." Dick nodded, as the brother hugged. "Be safe."

"Don't worry about me, worry about her."

"Call me for anything." Dick nodded, as

Jason and him hugged.

"Waite your leaving us already?" Tim turned to his older brother.

"I'll come back." Jason smiled to Tim. "Help out with the baby demon?"

Tim nodded, hugging Damian close

"Dami, these are good people." Jason spoke in Arabic, as Rachel understood each word.

"Be safe," Dami asnwered him back, as they hugged.

"Well do something after this mess, eh kids?" Jason turned to the rest of them, as he and the redhead left.

Rachel noticed how quiet it was, before looking around. "Did they bring anything for him?"

"No." Dick shook his head.

"Okay, We need child supplies." Gar spoke up, as he moved to the kitchen.

"Let's order some clothes Dami." Tim waved his phone, as if he was showing Damian the images.

"Do you like Bananas, Dami?" Gar asked, as he brought back the food.

Damian nodded, reaching for it as Gar passed it to him, after peeling it back.

"Am I even needed?" Dick jokes, as he sat down beside Rachel.

"I don't do diapers." She told him, smiling as she watched the boys fuss over the toddler.

"Diapers." Dick reminded him, "I am guessing size two, I don't think he's a three."

"Diapers." Tim noted it down on his leg, with a pen.

Rachel noticed  Conner was taking pictures of Tim cuddling Dami on his chest, as Gar fed him. It looked so sweet and loving.

"You're not going to run in there and hold him?" Dick smiled at her, reading her mind.

"He's overwhelmed, I'll let him come to me." Rachel blushed softly, she really did want to hold him, he looked like the perfect baby.

"His background is rough, he will need all the love we can offer him." Dick told her, as he took her hand. "Can you open your heart to one more lost boy?"

"We are all lost boys here." Rachel reminded him gently.

"But, We are full of love here." She smiled at him, squeezing his hand. "Damian is safe with the Titans."

Dick hugged her closer as she watched Damian take his banana and shove it into Conner's face.

"He belongs here." She decided, as Conner wiped off his face.

"Dami, that's not nice." Gar laughed.

"I done." He told them, smashing what was left in his hands. "Mess now."

"Messy boy." Gar laughed, Rachel noticed he was preparing his paper towels.

"Not on me!" Tim cried, as Damian smashed  what was left on his chest, laughing. "My shirt!"

Damian wiggled out of Tim's reach, running with his little legs, as he tried to escape.

"Get the baby!" Tim cried, as he playfully died on the couch, from his Banana attack. "I am dying! Ahh Banana acid!"

Damian laughed, as he rushed to Dick, climbing up onto his lap.

"Quick, he needs CPR!" Gar asked out, jumping to Tim's aid, pressing on his chest as he called to Conner. "Give him. Mouth to mouth!"

"Coming!" Conner knelt down, as Gar pressed Tim's chest.

"Are they okay?" Damian asked, watching back to the boys, as Conner kissed Tim.

"That's play." Dick told him softly. "They are being silly."

"My hero!" Tim cried out coming back to life, flinging his arms around Conner's shoulders.

"Quick, he needs the hot tub!" Gar laughed, picking Tim up as the boys rushed off to finish their game.

"Hot tub of life!" Conner called out.

"They have Grandfaders, tub?" Damian asked, confused.

Rachel turned to the toddler confused, but not willing to ask. She couldn't get a reading on him, and it was bothering her.

"No." Dick shook his head. "They are strange."

"Okay." Damian nodded, as he looked Rachel over.

"Rachel's calmer, then the boys." Dick told Damian softly. "Rachel's my quiet, sweet girl."

Damian looked her over, his green eyes piercing into her soul.

The toddler has old eyes, like he had seen a thousand wars, yet he was still searching for something.

"Why do I feel like I am being judged by a mini Batman?" Rachel voiced, as she looked the kid over, he had many of Bruce's feathers.

"He's Bruce's." Dick nodded. "God, he's going to freak."

Rachel looked up, Dick was worried, so she wasn't going to pry father, not right now.

"Hello, Uncle Damian." She nodded, changing the subject as she  turned to the toddler.

The toddler broke out into a smile, as he reached for her hand, searching safely.

"That's my daughter." Dick spoke gently. "I saved her, just like Jason saved you."

Damian looked her over.

"You're safe here, Uncle Damian." She whispered softly, as he lay his head down on Dicks chest.

"I am tired." He told her softly, with a yawn.

Dick kissed his head softly, with a smile.

"Can I nap with you?" Damian asked in Arabic as he looked up to her, as Rachel found herself nodding, those eyes had her under a spell.

"How do I hold you?" She asked, Rachel never held a child before, none would dare allow a child near her. Even her own mother wouldn't let her hold a baby.

"Take the couch, sit down, have him sleep on you, the way you sleep on Gar." Dick explained softly, as she moved.

" I'll take the boys downstairs for proper CPR training." Dick nodded, as he moved Damian to the couch. "Tossing people into a hot tub doesn't work, 99.9% of the time."

Rachel smiled as she sat down, as Damian crawled into her lap, his legs bent at her sides as he lay on her shoulder. Rachel settled him as he cuddled into her body.

"You got him?' Dick asked softly as she breathed in the spices of Damian's clothing. "Just like Tim, when he's half asleep and wants cuddles."

"Mine now." She nodded, wrapping her arms around him, as he cuddled close.

"I got you little Robin." She whispered into his ear as he closed his eyes.

"Rachel, where did the child come from?" Kori asked, coming into the door, as she placed several bags down. "And who ordered from Uber?"

"Which question first?" Rachel asked softly, brushing Damian's hair as he slept.

"The kid?" Kori smiled gently.

"Jason and ..Roy I think?" Rachel shook her head.

"Jason had a baby!" Kori cooed, moving closer.

"Shh!" Rachel hushed her, with a smile. Kori's excitement was what she loved about her, but her interesting views came close. "I didn't know he was pregnant."

Rachel laughed, shaking her head, she loved Kori.

"No, Jason brought him to us, this is Damian, Bruce's son."

"When was Bruce pregnant?" Kori walked into the room.

Rachel just laughed at the idea of a pregnant Batman fighting crime.

"Kori, men can't get pregnant, that's our job on this planet." Rachel told her, as Kori sat down. "Women only."

"Explains why Dick isn't pregnant." Kori looked dead serious.

Rachel shook her head, doing her best not to break out in laughter and wake the toddler up.

"This is Damian, he's a baby Robin." Rachel looked over the messy black hair fighting to curl. "Dick didn't really share too much, I think he wants us to see Damian as the child he is."

"He looks like a Wayne." Kori looked over the pale face, pressed into Rachel's chest, as he breathed quietly.

"He has Bruce's stare." Rachel nodded, brushing his hair.

"Second question: What did we buy?" Kori asked, looking back to the bags.

"Clothing, and toys I believe." Rachel nodded.

"Are we keeping him?" Kori cooed, as she rocked gently.

"I don't know?" Rachel didn't.

"Well, let's take an inventory before we decide what he needs next?" Kori smiled at her, as she moved to collect the bags.

Rachel wasn't sure of children, but Damian sleeping on her, was changing her mind. He was quiet and calm, as Kori organized the clothing and items bought for such a small body.

"So we have diapers, and a few days worth of clothes." Kroi smiled as she picked up the plate set bearing a bunch of Zoo animals.

"They are plastic, just in case he drops his plate, or throws it." Rachel explained, as she took a small wolf from the pile, and placed it beside Damian for him to find when he woke up.

"He wouldn't be the only one throwing the dishes around." Kori laughed, as she got up, looking her over. "You look good with a child."

Rachel just blushed, as she tilted her head into the sleeping toddler.

"You just stay there, and looked relaxed." Kori told her, as she walked into the kitchen. "I am going to try to make something to snack on, you want something?"

Rachel nodded, as Damian stirred, but didn't wake up.

"Hello, little Mama." Gar purred into her ear, as she opened her eyes, looking down confused to not see the toddler. "Dick kidnapped him, after Damian told us he was wet."

"I was comfortable." She frowned at him, pouting.

"My poor demon." Gar pulled her into his arms,  kissing her cheek. "You look like it, but you have enough issues trying to sleep at night."

Rachel nodded, sleeping wasn't easy.

"I made you a coffee." Gar told her, pointing to the mug on the table in front of her.

Rachel blushed, he always took care of her.

"Lots of sugar?" She asked, as he passed it to her.

"And cinnamon." Gar winked, as she smiled, sipping her sweet coffee with a smile.

"You need a check in?" Gar asked softly, rubbing her arms.

Rachel leaned back in her spot, Gar was always in her corner, always watching over her.

"Kori believed Jason carried Damian." She smiled, as Gar laughed softly.

"Aliens?" Gar reminded her.

"Seriously, Kori believes men can carry." She tried to explain.

"Poor Dick, he'll lose his figure." Gar shook his head smiling down at her.

"You're the worst." She shook her head, as he kissed her shoulder

"Where does the baby, birth from?" Gar asked, just as she took a large drink, spraying it all over the table in front of her as she laughed.

Gar looked as if he was thinking it through. "Hopefully it comes out his butt."

Rachel choked, as she shook her head laughing, as she signed him to quit.

"Here we go Mama, deep breaths." Gar encouraged her as he rubbed her back. "I'll stop now."

"Please." She turned to him, as she shook her head. "I hate you."

"Use your hate on the emany." He kissed her again, as she pushed him away laughing. "The emany, not your kitten, your sweet green eye tiger."

Rachel just leaned back into his arms, Gar drove her crazy, but he made her happy doing it.

"You okay, with a kid around?" He asked as she settled into his chest. "You looked worried about him."

Rachel took his hand in her, smiling at his black nails he let her paint.

"I can't read him." She admitted.

"He's just a baby, maybe there is nothing to read." Gar spoke gently. "But Dick told us a little more downstairs, which is why Tim's gone. He's in research mode to find out how Bruce ended up with a child. But I don't think it was willingly. Both Tim and Dick seemed to be upset by the name Taila."

Rachel looked up, as Gar shook his head.

"Bruce never wanted to father a child." Gar spoke gently. "His quest for vengeance- and his long talk about birth control use, I really don't think he would slip up."

"So he has truly no idea?" Rachel looked up horrified, to have a child and not know of it.

"Dick is talking to Alfred, but as far as we know no." Gar looked upset by the facts. "Bruce doesn't slip up."

Rachel felt like he had more to say, as she stroked his fingers gently.

"What if he was drugged- this Taila person took advantage of him?"  Gar spoke with some growl to his voice. "Bruce isn't the smartest when he's drinking, what if she did something to him?"

Rachel sighed sadly, the idea that a man as strong and capable as Bruce being abused was alot for her to take in.

Would Bruce push Damian away, like Clark did, seeing his DNA used against his power?

Would Damian be locked in the bathroom scared of himself?

"Rea?" Gar wiped the tear from her cheek.

"So... We have another child, who's parents might push him away?"

"No." Gar shook his head. "Clark fucked up. What Clark did, what he's trying to make up for, that is not happening this time around."

"What is Bruce shuns him?" Rachel cried softly into his chest.

"Then we have Dami, here at the tower." Gar told her gently, petting her hair. "You love Tim and Bart, Damian will be just as easy to get used to."

"Promise?" Rachel turned to him, as Gar nodded. She had no idea about children, or even toddlers, but she knew Tim and Bart, they both had childsidea.

"He's your little bird now." He teased softly. "You might have a new study partner."

Rachel just blushed, as Gar held her close.

"Good, Dinners ready, you too." Dick walked by, stopping to see them cuddling.  "Arnt you both cute?"

Gar tossed a pillow at him, as Dick skipped out of the room.

Rachel looked up, petting Gars face.

"We're cute."

Straws were chosen to pick who would stay home, and who would go out for the night.

Rachel never felt happier to draw the short straw, as the thunderstorm raged outside.

Kori made her coco, before leaving, something she couldn't quite make herself, Mamas was always better.

Damian sat on the floor, watching the lighting as it flashed across the sky, as he sat across from her playing with a dinosaur.

"Big!" He noted, as the tower shut down, setting off alarms. He turned to her alarmed.

"Don't worry, we lost power to the building, I'll fix it."   Rachel picked him up, speaking gently as she carried him  to the power box, to change it to the generator.

Damian didn't cry, but made a few small sounds of being worried, as she kissed his head.

The lights flicked above them, before turning on to a low setting.

"All better." Rachel told Damian as he looked around.

"No." He started, looking around.

Rachel looked around following his eyes, as she felt all around her. The tower was locked up, the only other place she could be safer was the Batcave itself, yet something was off.

"Nones here, little bird." She told him, as she moved back to their spot on the floor.

Damian was quiet, as he reached for his toy, looking around.

"You feel off too?"  Rachel picked him up, no longer trusting she was safe, and opened a portal to her bedroom, quickly locking it's door.

"Okay, I am going to call Dick, my second phone in here." She spoke gently, as she placed Damian on the bed.

"Mother is here." Damian told her, with a nod. "I know, it's Mother."

Rachel reached for her phone, as she turned to Damian.

"What does she want?" Rachel started to dial the phone into the network, so she would reach everyone.

"Me?" Damian looked to her, as her bedroom door slammed against it's locks.

"I don't wanna go." He cried in arabic.

"I can portal us to the safe. I don't have a wide range, but it's in the basement." Rachel turned the line on though her phone.  "Anyone: I need back up, Towers under-"

An explosive went off outside her bedroom door.

"Portal to the safe." Dick told her, responding first.

"No. Portal to the coffee shop on main, it's  a two jump push, but you can do it." Tim told her, "Portal to that stop on main- the halfway point, and portal to the shop."

She had never jumped that far, but Tim believed she could. She knew of both locations, the first being a flower shop.

"Do you get motion sickness?" She turned to Damian, who shook his head.

"Two more portals okay?" Rachel picked him up, placing him firmly on her side, grabbing her throw to protect him from the rain.

The door opened, just as she opened the portal and jumped though, quickly closing it behind her.

Gasping as her energy drained quickly from the jumps, as she opened a second one.

Conner caught her as she came out of the last portal, gasping as her knees buckled.

"I got you." Conner swore, picking her up and taking her into the alleyway, pressing a sugar drink to her lips, for her to drink. "You are doing good."

Rachel nodded, as he helped her learn against the wall to catch her breath, as the sugar kicked in.

"Can I take you, Dami?" Conner asked, as he took the toddler.

"What about the tower?" Rachel looked up concerned.

"Dick, Kori, Tim and Gar are there." Conner winked at her. "I am to calm you down, and go help."

"I am good." Rachel nodded, as she recollected herself. She was out of the tower, Damian was now her concern, she needed him to feel safe. " I am good, give me your wallet."

"My wallet?" Conner looked confused, as he passed it to her.

"There is a dinner two blocks south, the new BatBurger down the street. I need money for food." She explained, as he nodded.

"I got a 50?" Conner gave her the money.

"I'll give it back." She nodded, taking the money."You like fries, Damian?"

Damian just shrugged, as Conner passed him back, flying off back to the tower.

"Zoom." Damian spoke, as he watched.

"Superboy does go zoom." Rachel held his head, as he laughed.

"Let's find out if you like fries, I love them." She told him softly. "They are potatoes- umm.. albatatis, right you like those right?"

Damian nodded.

Damian was not amused with his Bat-themed

Toy, a clown called Harley. Apparently she worked for the Joker, Rachel read the card the story of  felt heartbroken for the women lost in lust.

Damian did enjoy chewing on her head, which kept him busy and quiet, as Rachel attempted to feed him.

Damian touched the fries once, and wiped his hands on his clothing saying it felt bad. But when she would hand feed him, he would accept them from her.

The phone was quiet, with messages being pinned when possible.

"Who is your mother?" Rachel asked softly, as she put her phone down.

"Motder, is a great warrior." Damian spoke with pride.

"What does she want?"  Rachel asked softly, taking a drink.

"I am special." Damian told her, as he took a frie from her.

Rachel smiled, as she wiped his mouth.

"Yes, you are." She told him softly, as she noticed Dicks car pulled up. "Are you all done with your apple juice?"

Damian nodded, as she got up cleaning up the table off, before collecting him as Dick walked in, a black eye foaming as he smiled at them brightly, like he wasn't just in battle.

"So, we are moving to Gotham, Gars packing your things for you." Dick spoke softly, as he took Damian kissing his head. "Text him which books you want. We are leaving now, they will catch up with us."

"My meds?" Rachel turned to him, as he nodded. "I will need my night dose."

"Grabbed your purse before I left the house." Dick opened the car door for her, as she noticed the car seat for Damian in the back.

"You ever been in a car seat before?" Dick asked, as he placed Damian in, locking him up securely. "I brought your wolf for you. He was ts to come for a car ride."

Rachel smiled, as Dick kissed the baby. "You're a safe, little one, we have a head start."

Dick told him, kissing his head again, before closing the door.

"You need anything right now?" Dick asked, as he pulled out of his spot.

Rachel knew he was talking to her.

"No." She watched as Dick pulled down her sunview, opening the mirror.

"You keep your eyes on him, just in case he gets sick in the car." Dick spoke gently.

"Damian has been in the portal three times tonight." Rachel reminded him, as she looked back, Damian was fighting to stay awake now. "But I'll watch him sleep, to calm your nerves."

"It would." Dick nodded, as he drove.

"Are we going to talk about what happened?" Rachel asked once she was sure, Damian was fast asleep.

They had been on the highway for an hour, weaving in and out of traffic.

"Talia wants her son back." Dick shook his head, keeping his eye on the road. "Jason and Roy kidnapped Damian from her."

"Why?"

"Damian is an al Ghul." Dick explained softly reaching for the monster they grabbed at the gas station, well filling up.

"You haven't told us about them." She shook her head, as he sighed.

"I never wanted to." Dick turned to her for a moment. "The al Ghul's are in charge of the League of Assassins- the same people who trained Bruce. That abused him."

"So bad people." Rachel nodded, as she looked back.

"They want to train Damian, to be everything Bruce is, and more." Dick growled, as she noticed his hands tightening on the wheel.

"More?" She asked.

"Think of an evil Batman."

Rachel turned to look ahead, she knew of Bruce's anger, she had seen it first hand as Batman. That evil and anger, would destroy everything Bruce had created.

As Damian let out a small snore, he looked so peaceful, behind her. Wasn't she created to be a weapon?

"Like a world's ending door?" She whispered, as she took his hand.

Dick slammed on the brakes, as he started to swear, before leaving the car to have a full on screaming fit at the sky.

His newest way of dealing with his anger, instead of holding it in and allowing it to control him.

"Ba?" Damian awoke, looking to Rachel.

"It's okay." She whispered, turning to him, as she undid her belt to face him. "Dick is very mad at things."

"Me?" Damian looked like he was about to cry.

"No." She took his hands, kissing them. "You and me, we are good."

Damian pointed to Dick.

"His daughter was wanted for something evil." She spoke softly, as she brushed his hair back. "Dick is angry that people are using children."

"I not a child. I'm prince." Damian corrected her, in Arabic.

" I am a demon." She told him softly, as she tried her best to translate, speaking Arabic was harder than reading it. . "Four eyes and horns, all of it."

"I see when we went into the magic wall." He nodded to her.

"You're observant." Rachel tapped his nose.

"Okay, I am back." Dick slipped back into the car. "You speak Arabic?'

"Raven does." Rachel nodded, looking him over worried. "You okay?'

"And yes, you and him will start some kind of group therapy for that."

"How do I do group therapy with a child?" Rachel moved back into her seat, bucking in.

"Play therapy, or animals." Dick smiled gently to her, taking her hand. "It's going to be okay. Nones coming for you, none is taking him."

Rachel wasn't sure of anything, but feeling herself in Gars arms, warm safe arms, as she awoke slowly.

"Time?" She mumbled, looking around, the last thing she remembered was watching the moon to Damian's breaths.

"Almost four, we popped a tire on the way here." Gar kissed her gently. "It's been fun."

"I was in the car last." She whispered as she turned into him.

"You're still in your clothes, Dick must have carried you up." Gar rubbed her back gently.

"Damian?"

"With Dick." Gar spoke softly, as he pulled her close. "Back to sleep. It's Sleep time for angels."

Rachel kissed his nose, as she blushed, closing her eyes.
