Champagne glanced around the room Vasilia had dragged him and Benny into as she closed the door, biting her lip anxiously.
“Alright, I have something important to tell you two, but you must swear not to tell anyone.” She glared at Benny who raised his hands in defence.
“Hey, I learnt my lesson last time! Besides, I’m not that bad!” Champagne sighed, signalling to Vasilia to continue.
“Right, now this is something I am planning to tell everyone, but slowly-”
“Is it that you and Heath are together?” Benny interrupted quickly, tilting his head curiously.
“I- wha- how do you know that!? Have you told anyone?” She was glaring at him again.
“Of course not! but it is kind of obvious, isn’t it?”
“How is it obvious?!” She squawked, gaping at him. Champagne decided to step in to save his boyfriend who was clearly struggling to find the words.
“I mean, you two are constantly hanging out alone, you hunt together, plus whenever you lot go on missions you two tend to stand together for briefs. Isn’t it kinda clear?” Vasilia blinked several times, looking similar to a stunned cat. Champagne smirked at the thought. It made sense, what with her being a were-jaguar, after all. Benny spoke up after a few seconds of awkward silence.
“I mean, it might be obvious to us, but when it comes to most of the group, this lot are pretty oblivious, especially when it comes to relationships.” He paused, frowning slightly. “Actually, Alexis might know. I don’t know how she does it, but she always seems to know that kind of stuff.” Vasilia let out a relieved sigh.
“Alright, well at least there’s that. But, wait, how many of our group are unaware of you and Champagne’s relationship?” Benny shrugged.
“I mean, I thought it was pretty obvious, but I was just talking with Sterling earlier, and-”

Benny glanced up as Sterling approached the table where he and Astra were sitting.
“Hey Silver, what’s up?” He nodded a greeting, Astra raising her head from her book and twisting in her chair to watch Sterling walk over to them.
“Not much, Alexis is off on a mission with Kayla and Mara, so I’ve been down in the gym.” Benny raised an eyebrow at the thin sheen of sweat covering the superhuman.
“I can tell.” He said dryly.
“Oh, yeah. Ha, anyway. Speaking of missions, how’s that friend of yours? I got the impression multiverse stuff freaked him out, has he been to any other worlds?” Benny blinked. Astra facepalmed silently, burying her face in her hands.
“I- wait, do you mean Champagne?” Sterling nodded.
“Yup!”
“My… my friend?”Astra’s face contorted as she struggled not to laugh.
“Yeah- oh, shoot did you two have an argument or something?” His face fell, and Benny got the very sudden image of a sad puppy. “Dang, I am so sorry that really sucks, I hate having fights with my friends. Hope you two sort it out!” He grabbed an apple from the fruit bowl on the counter and walked off. Astra stopped trying to hold back her laughter and howled, cackling like a hyena. Benny just sat in mild shock and amusement.

“Are you serious?” Champagne stared at him as he finished recounting the events of a few hours prior.
“Yup.” Vasilia was shaking her head, a mixture of bewilderment and amusement on her face.
“Did you not think it appropriate to correct him, Benjamin?” Benny shrugged again.
“I was too stunned. He came in, erased my relationship, then whirlwind-ed out.”
“I- I mean you’ve mentioned- he picked up on none of your signs?”
“Not one, it was honestly kind of impressive.”
“Geez, oblivious clown.”
“Yeah, he can be a bit dumb sometimes. Still, you’ve gotta have your token straight in every friend group right?”
“Token… straight?” Vasilia asked, clearly confused.
“Oh, right, so a-”
