Chapter Text

“Hi dad! Pho and Phan are gonna be back with mom soon they just went to get some things.” Morpheus explained as the empty hall was soon filled with the talking between Morpheus and Hypnos. Soon some shades emerged and hypnos sent mo to go do his incarnate job

“Hello! Welcome to the house of Hades, and thanks for dying!”

Pasithea was walking back with Phobetor and Phantasos back to the house of Hades. She smiled gently as she heard the often bickering of the 2 over who would get to say hello to her husband first.

“Well it’s obvious that nightmares are not dads thing so i should say hi first!”

“You’re the god of unrealism so, that’s is by proxy unrealistic, therefore i get to say hello first, duh.” the two bickered on and on as they reached Lethe. they both stopped to talk to her and share about their days and continued to argue only now laughing at how dumb the fight was.

“Well i think we need a tiebreaker! Mom, who should say hi to dad first?” Phobetor asked while messing with the trinket bag Lethe had given him.

“Well that’s obvious,” She started while twirling a poppy she had picked for her husband. “Obviously it should be me.” The boys laughed and they ran to River of Styx to take them into the house of Hades. The boys and her emerged from the Styx and saw a floating black hooded figure talking to Hypnos, no doubt her husbands twin, Thanatos. She never saw him much but when she would she would see him giving an earful to her beloved. By this point she glared at him and told the children to go meet up with their other brother Morpheus so they can play and do their jobs together.

“I’m serious Hypnos, you’re always sleeping on the job. Mother Nyx has told me that you need to stop.”

“I was just closing my eyes since it’s a slow day today Than! Plus, i’ve already checked in everyone who has come today!” He chirped happily as who he thought was Zag emerge. “Hi Zag! Oh wait, your not Zag, but that’s okay because your better then him!” His mood improved upon seeing his wife, glad that she would still be there for him at the end of the day.

“Hello beloved, i just was bringing back the boys. I brought you a gift as well, my beloved.” Hypnos was always shy and blushing with she called him ‘beloved’. She knew this and often used it to her advantage during any chance she could. She handed him the poppy and gave him a quick peck before whispering to him “don’t worry my beloved i got you” and walking to his chamber. Hypnos by this point had his brain fried and was practically beet red, looking down with a goofy grin on his face, as if he had hit the jackpot. Almost forgetting entirely that his brother was there until her spoke once again.

“Hypnos, who was that. Also ‘bringing back the boys’? Do you have kids??” He seemed almost shocked but Hypnos noticed shades before he could be questioned further.

“Oh! Would you look at the line of shades forming i gotta take them why don’t you go see if the prince is back?” Hypnos said, he was scarlet red now, pushing his twin away from his post.

“Hypnos there is 3 shades and i was just with the prince helping him, now, would you mind telling me who that is?” Thanatos was curious and genuinely thought she was a threat to her brother, if she can make his honest brother deflect then she has to be some bad news.

“Oh well i think the prince is emerging now! Why don’t you greet him while i greet these shades right now?” He wasn’t looking in his eyes and Thanatos sighed realizing it was, in fact, his idiot boyfriend who he helped not even 10 minutes ago. As he and Zagreus chatted about how he died Hypnos was greeting the shades. Thanatos realized his break was almost up but he needed answers.

“Zag, can you make sure a lady calling Hypnos ‘beloved’ doesn’t come around? I saw her earlier and i don’t like the fact that when i try to get answers he deflects.” Thanatos huffed out of annoyance. He didn’t like the fact that this mysterious woman perhaps stole his brothers heart. He didn’t like the fact that ‘boys’ might mean he could possibly have nephews that he was never told about. He didn’t like the fact that his brother would possibly avoid him to never talk about it again. He didn’t like any of it. Not one bit.
