Work Text:

It was moments like these that Jean remembered why he did it all. Why he put himself through law school, why he worked two part time jobs, why he woke up every morning.

It was for them. Eren, his rough, funny, and passionate boyfriend. Armin, his sweet, intelligent, and radiant boyfriend.

Everything he did was for them and them alone. For their happiness, for their safety, for their well-being.

Most importantly, for their love.

Jean was blessed to be able to come home to two boyfriends who would pamper him and love him until he couldn't take anymore.

Whenever anything went wrong, whenever he felt like giving up, his lovers were there for him.

Jean couldn't be more thankful.

The day had been rough, to say the least. He hadn't eaten since breakfast, he bombed his test so bad he was going to have to retake it, the traffic was so slow that he wasted an entire tank of gas, and he was incredibly sleep deprived.

All he wanted was to get home and fall face first into bed and never wake up again. If that happened, Jean would be content.

He walked up the concrete stairs to his apartment and barged in with a gloomy look on his face.

Almost immediately Eren and Armin we're by his side, guiding him over to the couch, and helping take off his shoes and coat.

Jean sighed and let his head fall back and meet the back of the couch. Eren hung up his lover's jacket and ran over to plop himself down by Jean's side, his eager jump making it creak.

Jean instantly felt himself relax. Everything felt safer now with the familiarity of home setting in. He took a deep breath in, taking in the scent of Eren that he knew so well. Eren smelled as he always did, like cinnamon and peanut butter.

"How was school?" Eren asked as he leaned into Jean's side, needy as ever.

"Mhm," Armin hummed. Armin was sitting on his knees in front of Jean, hands rubbing up and down Jean's thighs, massaging him in all the right places.

This was a routine they'd fallen into. At first, Jean felt bad, like he was burdening the two by having them cater to him. Though after a long discussion with his lovers, he quickly learned that this wasn't just soothing for him, they enjoyed it just as much.

Jean was very lucky.

"I bombed my test," Jean groaned as his hand came up to play with Eren's hair, "I'm gonna retake it on Saturday."

"Do you know what caused you to fail?" Armin asked kindly as he kissed Jean's knees.

"Wording," Jean patted Armin's head and motioned for him to come up, "I didn't understand the way it was worded. I think I know how to study for the retake now though."

"That can be tough," Armin said as he crawled into Jean's lap, "With tricky wording, try to find the meaning of the passage by finding the meaning of each line and putting the whole picture together, if it comes to that."

Armin was a genius, there's no better word to describe just how smart he was. He was in med school and passing with flying colors. Jean was sure that he'd go on to become a phenomenal doctor.

But he wasn't just a genius, he was also kind. He helped Jean work through his problems, helped him study, helped him regain confidence, he helped him in more ways than he could count.

"I know," Jean sighed and pressed a kiss to the side of Armin's head, "Maybe you could help me with it later."

He heard a whine from next to him. Jean turned his head to see the pouty face of his Eren, "I want a kiss too."

Jean couldn't not smile at that. Eren wasn't like Jean and Armin, he was more passionate, more spontaneous. He wanted what he wanted when he wanted and would do what it took to get it. Even if that meant whining about a kiss.

"Baby," Jean insulted him as he leaned in and pressed his lips against Eren's in a chaste kiss.

Jean felt Eren sigh against him. Jean liked this side of Eren, this relaxed and dependent side of him. It was vulnerable, and Jean treasured being entrusted with protecting it.

"How about your days?" Jean asked as he let his hand come back up to Eren's hair.

"Eh," Armin shrugged and rested his head on Jean's shoulder, "I took more melatonin than I thought I did last night, so I slept in and was pretty drowsy all day."

"Awe," Jean sympathized with his blonde lover. He watched closely as Eren reached his hand out in search of Armin's. Without even looking, Armin's hand found Eren's and intertwined them. His heart swelled with affection for the two.

"It was okay," Eren followed up, "Everything was going good down at the shop 'til Floch almost set one of the cars on fire."

Jean blinked rapidly, "Fire? In a car shop?" He asked in shock, "That's asking for a disaster. How did that even happen?"

"Floch was smoking and his cigarette fell right next to a thing of gasoline," Eren leaned into Jean's hand, "Thankfully it was just far enough not to start a fire."

"Guess we've all had rough days, haven't we?" Armin closed his eyes and shifted on Jean's lap.

"Mhm," Jean agreed. He pressed a kiss to the side of Armin's head. He let the hand holding Eren tug him closer. Eren happily obliged and rested his head on Jean's free shoulder.

Within seconds, Jean felt Armin's breath slow. Jean snorted to himself. Armin had the unique ability to pass out anywhere without warning. It used to catch Jean off guard, but now, he just laughed and admired.

"Is he out?" Eren whispered into Jean's ear. His lips gracing his lobe, his warm breath encasing it.

"Yeah," Jean nudged his nose against Eren's before going in for another kiss.

Their lips met, but neither deepened it, though neither pulled away. Jean did his best to memorize the feel of Eren's lips against his own.

Every ridge, the plumpness of his lower lip, the lip balm that Armin always chastises him about. Jean tattooed these things to his heart

Eren was the first to pull away. Their eyes slowly opened and Jean couldn't help the way his heart skipped a beat or two at the way Eren seemed to stare at him with a sleepy wonder.

"I'm tired," Eren whispered, eyes never straying from Jean's.

"Then go to sleep, dumbass," Jean chuckled and moved his hand down Eren's back and around his waist.

In one move, he hoisted him closer, as close as close could be. Eren nuzzled his head into the juncture of Jean's neck.

Jean threw his head back and closed his own eyes as he counted the seconds it took for the rise and fall of Eren's chest to slow.

Lazily, he opened his eyes and stared at the ceiling. He picked his head up and looked down at his lovers.

Together, in Jean's lap, their hands stayed intertwined.

It was in these small moments that he found himself.
