The town of Maddison was quiet. It was a tight-knit community, everyone knew everyone.
Ellie had lived in a lot of small towns similar to Madison. Never for long.At first, she didn’t even realize she was doing little things that made it impossible to maintain relationships of any kind. Skipping work days for no reason, and picking fights with potential partners, Ellie had burned every bridge she’d ever crossed.
She used lost jobs, broken hearts, and anything else she could think of as an excuse to pull up stakes.
She had been living out of a suitcase her entire life and now she was sick of it. It was time to get her shit together. Time for her to build a life for herself and find a home.
This is a rewrite of one of my first fics! I didn't write it all that long ago but reading it back physically made me cringe!
