It has become their own private little tradition. Each time they can't sleep, Darcy and Steve meet up in the tower's communal kitchen and chat. Lately, they have even been meeting on purpose.
Steve is enchanted by Darcy. He finds her magnificent and alluring. She's everything he thinks is fascinating about the future and she's funny and she gets him.
They are having another little midnight rendezvous, complete with some homemade snacks, when he finally asks her out. She says yes.
Their next meeting is at 7 pm at a lovely restaurant. They still have their midnight snack. Kisses, too.
