George is clearly new in town, and the only male cheerleader at his new school. Of course, this doesn't bother him, neither does the attempts at bullying, or the glares from the new kids. George actually ignores all of that in favor of people he's quickly become friends with:

Luke Z. (Punz) A deaf kid who willing to teach help George understand the deaf community, while also showing George his amazing art skills.
