Work Text:

“When Marinette lured Monarch into a trap, he escaped by making the completely insane move of forcing Chat Noir to use his Cataclysm on him.”

“But what would have happened if they had acted quicker…?”

“Is this what you were looking for, Monarch?” Ladybug said, holding up a piece of paper, “My real address was written on this, but I replaced it just before you got here.”

“How?” Monarch asked.

“Shh,” Chat Noir shushed him.

Ladybug was tempted to explain her plan to show him how she outsmarted him, but decided to take the Miraculous back first.

“I’ll explain later.”

She took the Horse Miraculous of his face, “Hey!”

“If you try to do anything else other than de-transform, Chat Noir will Cataclysm you,” Ladybug told him as she retrieved the Dragon.

Monarch suddenly pulled Chat Noir toward him, screaming out in pain as the Cataclysm touched his arm.

“No! Chat cried, “Why did he do that? Is he crazy?”

“Nooroo, Stompp, Unify!”

Monarch pushed Chat off and stood up.

“Resist–”

Ladybug punched his wounded arm.

“Aaarrrgh!” He screamed in agony and collapsed.

Ladybug and Chat quickly retrieved the remaining Miraculous until only the Butterfly was left.

Once Ladybug removed it, Monarch’s costume faded to reveal Gabriel.

“What?!” The heroes said in unison.

Once he was arrested, the police questioned him, but he refused to cooperate until they asked him a question Ladybug had requested they ask.

“Ladybug tells us you had all but one Miraculous on you. Where is the Peacock?”

Gabriel snorted, “You’ll have to ask my nephew.”

“Your nephew? You mean Félix Fathom?”

“Yes, did you not wonder how I got the Miraculous? He was impersonating my son when Ladybug gave him the Dog Miraculous. He used it to steal Ladybug’s yo-yo and traded it to me for the Peacock Miraculous.”

“Why would he do that?”

“You’ll have to ask him.”

“You say he impersonated your son? Does that mean Adrien is involved with your activities?”

“No!” Gabriel shouted, “No.” He said more calmly, “He knew nothing.”

Ladybug and her team were on a roof next to a skyscraper in London. They could see the apartment that Félix and his mother lived in.

“Okay, his mother claims she hasn’t seen Félix, but Gabriel says the last he knew, Félix was on the train to London. There’s only one way to be sure if he is here or not. Viperion?”

He nodded, “Second Chance!”

The other heroes all smashed through the apartment window.

“What is the meaning of this?!” Amélie demanded.

“Where’s Félix?!” Chat demanded. He had been angrier lately. Ladybug knew she would have to talk to him about that.

“I already told you I don’t know!”

“Then you won’t mind if we look around your home?”

“I most certainly do mind–”

“He’s here!” Rena Rouge shouted before she abruptly disappeared.

“We don’t like uninvited guests here,” A figure in a blue hood said.

“Félix!” Ladybug said, “Where’s Rena?!”

“You can call me Argos, and as for your friend, you can thank Red Moon here.”

“A Sentimonster!” Carapace cried.

“Yes, she gives me the power to wipe out anyone who’s been bathed in its light with the snap of my fingers.”

He demonstrated, causing Carapace to disappear.

“Stop him!”

Argos snapped his fingers again and again until only Ladybug was left.

“Now you’re alone.”

“That’s where you’re wrong, Viperion, now!”

Viperion had listened to everything and, at Ladybug’s command, he turned back time.

“He’s in there. He’s using the Peacock and calls himself Argos,” Viperion told the team, “He uses a Sentimonster called Red Moon that can make you disappear at the snap of Argos’s fingers.”

“That’s going to be hard to fight against,” Rena said.

“Not if he never gets a chance to transform,” Ladybug told her.

Félix was relaxing in his room when suddenly, a portal opened in front of him.

“Venom!” A yellow-and-black blur shouted, before jabbing something into his stomach. He tried to transform, but he couldn’t move.

“How many times did that take?” Vesperia asked.

“Twelve,” Viperion told her, “It took a while to get the portal in the right position.”

The Kwamis were flying around Marinette’s room, celebrating their freedom and being reunited with Nooroo and Duusu.

“I’m glad they found Adrien a new home. He has been feeling better since then,” Marinette said.

“Yeah,” Alya agreed, “But I must admit, this all feels a little anti-climactic.”

“Huh?”

“I mean, with Hawk Moth or whatever he’s calling himself this week. It just seems… unsatisfying.”

“What? You were expecting some big final battle?”

She shrugged, “Kinda, yeah.”

“Well, I for one am glad for an easy victory,” Marinette said as she sat down to relax.

“What? You were expecting more? Well, I don’t know what to tell you. The bad guy has been defeated. All the Miraculous recovered. It’s over. No more to see here. The end.”
