And lizzie whispered something, and jimmy turned redder the the bloody water, and hit her on the arm, and she just laughed.
It never crossed their mind that fish are very cannibalistic.
OR: jimmy, lizzie are siblings, axolotls try to eat their siblings when young, and some dont grow out of it, and cod are just fuckin cannibals. so its apart of their culture to try to eat and kill each other. but its really fluffy, and jimmy is trying to show off to scott as a way of courting.
