Chapter Text
Leo has been feeling weird since his battle with the Krang I mean it makes sense cause of everything that happened that day so he wrote it off as him still being shaken up from the battle, he was too pre-occupied with worrying about his family to look too deep into any off feeling he has.
Like every other day since the invasion, Leo and Donnie would help with bandaging, even though Donnie knew more about medicine, Leo was still a great help, he would do most of the bandaging because Donnie would do most of the disinfecting. Donnie and Leo both had the habit of staying up late, so they would usually stay up late and talk about whatever, though in recent years they haven't done this as much since Donnie stays up in his lab and Leo stays in his room doing anything to keep himself entertained until he could sleep.
But after the encounter with the Krang the habit of staying up together came back, even if they didn't talk Leo would sit in Donnie's lab as Donnie typed away on his computer not letting Leo touch anything, and Leo stayed there even if he bored out of his mind, Leo needed to be by his brothers at all time and he noticed that the others get startled from him checking up on them late at night so being able to be by at least one of his brothers was comforting. Tonight the two decided to stay in the living room since Splinter went to sleep in his bed instead of the couch where he normally slept.
After a while of just sitting in the living room not being able to make small talk, because one, they didn't want to wake the others, and two, the twins have had a hard time talking to each other since most of all conversations recently were kind of emotional and these two were the worst at dealing with emotions, Donnie decided to go to his lab to do some extra work.
"Leo, I'm going to go to my lab" - Donnie
"Got it, I'll probably go to my room soon as well" - Leo
"Call me if you need anything, okay" - Donnie
"Okay, have fun" - Leo
"Night Nardo" - Donnie
"Night Don" - Leo
After Donnie left, Leo sat on the ground for a couple of minutes, looking at the projector screen, when they watched Jupiter Jim or Lou Jitsu movies, it looked kinda sad when nothing was playing on it, Leo got bored quickly and decided to grab some water from the kitchen, Donnie kept saying how it's crucial to drink water during the healing process and stuff, even after a huge crisis happens, Leo couldn't make himself listen to one of Donnie's rants but at least he could say he tried.
The kitchen was always the coldest place in the house, you'd think it would be the Medbay or something cause cold air kills bacteria but it was the kitchen, Leo didn't like being cold he hated the feeling of shivering, chills, or a cold sweat. He couldn't stand it but he wanted something from the kitchen so, we all have to make sacrifices I guess.
Leo opens the cabinet door and takes out an empty glass, he could chug another cup of coffee but he just wants to sleep right now and coffee wouldn't do him any good, before he could turn on the sink to fill his glass, he hears the sound of a whistle, it's playing a melody that made Leo uneasy. He turned around quickly locking his eyes with a tall Wolf, Leo's eyes moved around to see that the wolf was holding twin sickles, Leo goes to grab his swords on his back but after attempting to grab nothing he realizes his swords are somewhere in the living room, should he fight without swords, he's in the kitchen there are other things he can use, like a knife. Leo goes to grab the closest knife which is a kind of dull knife but until he sees a better one, I guess this will do. He gets into a fighting stance but before he could move the wolf was gone. Leo quickly looks around, examining his surroundings precisely.
The wolf was nowhere to be found
Leo runs to the living room to grab his swords quickly and runs upstairs to the Medbay where Raph and Mikey reside. Mikey stays in the Medbay cause his arms were horribly damaged from opening the portal, and Raph decided to stay with Mikey to make sure he was okay. So Leo, worried about the wolf hurting anyone runs for the Medbay, his brothers were just as jumpy as he was so they probably would've heard it but he still needed to check. Leo went into the room in a slightly loud panic to check on them, both his brothers were fine. Raph was startled awake by Leo's abrupt entrance.
"Is everything alright Leo?!" - Raph
Raph was half asleep and fully panicked from Leo standing in the doorway clutching his swords, he didn't mean to scare Raph, he was just worried, maybe he was seeing things, and it wouldn't be a shocker if he was. These past few days have messed Leo and everyone else up so maybe the best thing was to not say anything, but what if the wolf was really there, then what? Before Leo could even process the 1 million questions racing in his mind Raph snaps him back to reality, getting up from the chair he was once sleeping in to stand in front of Leo.
"Leo?!? What's wrong?" - Raph
"Nothing I-, its nothing" - Leo
"Then why are you coming in here, with your swords, like you just saw a ghost" - Raph
"I thought.. I saw something.." - Leo
"What do you mean you, "thought you saw something"??!" - Raph
"Nothing, it's nothing just seeing stuff.. I was just about to go to bed" - Leo
"Leo..?" - Raph
"I said it's fine Raph, I didn't mean to startle you. We should sleep now" - Leo
"I'm gonna check around the lair then okay, just to be safe" - Raph
"Okay, I'll tag along then" - Leo
"No, you're staying here, to watch Mikey" - Raph
Even though Leo tried to seem calm and collected, he was extremely panicked and anyone could tell. Leo was embarrassed he felt like a kid asking for someone to help check for monsters under his bed, Raph was worried as well but more about his brothers being in harm's way than an intruder, Raph knew he could handle an intruder. It seems Leo was unharmed just startled, which surprisingly enough made Raph feel a bit better but he did plan on checking up on Leo since by what he can tell Leo is panicked from seeing something inside the lair whether it was real or not. Since it would still be bad if Leo was hallucinating, it would also be bad if he wasn't.
Raph continued to quietly look around the place as Leo sat near Mikey's bed watching over him and glancing around the room just in case the wolf was near.

Around 10-15 minutes go by and Raph hasn't returned to the Medbay, the place is pretty big so Leo wouldn't doubt it would take long but he still couldn't help but worry with each second that goes by without knowing exactly how his brother is doing, for all he knows he could've sent Raph to his death, he knows Raph's strong but he doesn't know how strong the wolf is. As he sits by Mikey examining the scars along his brothers' arms he can hear the same faint whistle from before, Leo gets up quickly and goes towards the entrance of the Medbay, his vision moving straight ahead to where he sees the wolf once again, the wolf is standing in a fighting stance immediately alarming Leo as he grabs his swords. Before he could attack the wolf quickly disappears as Raph steps in front of Leo, causing him to step back and go into a defensive stance with Leo.
"Leo I- wow wow wow! Are you okay!? What's happening?!" - Raph
"I saw the Wolf!" - Leo
Raph turns around as Leo pointed behind Raph looking around Raph at the room, both quickly scanning the room, to see nothing
"I don't.. See anything.." - Raph
Raph didn't move his sight from the room as he talked to Leo continuously scanning the Medbay in case he missed the Wolf, Leo scanning from behind Raph.
"I must've.. just been seeing things" - Leo
"Well I'll keep a lookout, and you should sleep" - Raph
Leo nods silently, not feeling like fighting Raph since he has a point, he leaves the room as Raph watches with a concerned grimace, Raph wanted to ask Leo if he was okay and ask about what he was seeing and why, but Raph knew that now Leo needs to rest.
Leo's constantly checking behind his shoulder holding onto his swords as he makes it to his room. The turtle sits on the edge of his bed, looking around as if he was unable to lie down, feeling as if he did, that maybe, it would give the wolf an opening to strike. eventually, Leo stiffly lays down, not putting in the effort to get comfortable, and just lays with one hand on his swords that he placed next to him on his bed, he couldn't get rid of the image of that wolf, tall with gray fur and red eyes, it was straight out of a nightmare, maybe it was just his brain messing with him, maybe he's just seeing things, but why does it feel so real then? All Leo could do is sit in his bed as he waits for himself to drift away, his eye constantly checking the room as he tosses and turns from the unease.
