New Agent

Summary:

The meeting of the agents!

Chapter 1: Your Hat

Summary:

Marie offers her hat to Summer.

Notes:

This chapter is purely based off the “cowboy hat” rule I saw on tiktok (basically where you give your hat to someone to wear to “claim” them as your person)

Chapter Text

Summer’s ear twitched, adjusting her hearing aid. “Stho, I’m finally meeting Agent Three of the Sthplatoon. How come I haven’t met them sthooner?”

Callie hummed. “They were on a mission with our gramps. Remember that crazy statue that came out of the ground? Did Marie tell you about it?”

“Yeah! Can’t believe Inkopolisth almostht got dethtroyed.” Summer crossed her arms.

“I couldn’t believe it when Marie told me about it! It’s funny thinking about Aspen knocked out while someone else saved the world,” Callie giggled. “I bet they were embarrassed.”

“Well, I can’t wait to meet them! I bet it’ll be intersthting!” Summer flapped her hands, flipping around the sleeves of Marie’s flannel. She didn’t have many clothes of her own. She was waiting to earn more money to get better clothes, so in the meantime she’s been borrowing Callie and Marie’s clothes. Mainly Marie’s. This also required cutting holes in the back of shirts to accommodate Summer’s fin.

She perked up upon seeing Marie approaching them, wearing her disguise outfit. “Hey, you two! They all should be here soon.” She stood beside Summer, stuffing her hands into her pockets.

“I can’t wait!” Summer clapped. “I finally get to meet your grandpa and Agent Three!”

“Along with the new Agent Eight. Her name is Bianca,” Marie explained. “We would’ve met her sooner, but Pearl and Marina were helping her adjust and stuff.”

“Pearl and Marina?!” Summer eyes widened. “You mean Pearl and Marina from Off the Hook?!”

“Oh, yeah. I didn’t tell you that part. They were helping Gramps and Bianca out the entire time they were down there. They took her in when she got to the surfa-“

“I get to meet Off the Hook?!”

“Yes, Sunshine. You do.” Marie patted Summer’s shoulder.

“Oh, gosh. I should’ve made mysthelf look better!” Her hands shook slightly, reaching up to her tentacles. “My hair lookth sthtupid! I need to cover it up!”

“You look fine, Summer.” Marie tried to reassure, but could tell her words wouldn’t help. She got another idea, taking off her hat. “If it helps, you could wear my hat.”

Summer blinked at her, lowering her hands. “You sure?”

“I am. Go ahead. Put it on.”

“Thanksth, Marie!” Summer accepted the hat and placed it on her head, starting to flap her sleeves again. “Doeth it look good?”

Marie smiled at her, ignoring the look her cousin gave her. “It looks great on you. Green is really your color.”

Summer grinned, her cheeks flushing blue. Something suddenly caught her attention and she looked past Marie. “They’re here! Let’th greet them!” She rushed off to meet the Off the Hook idols and agents halfway.

“Ya know, there’s a meaning to giving someone your hat.” Callie crossed her arms, walking beside Marie as they followed after the orange inkling.

“Not now, Callie. Let’s just go meet the new agent.”

“Ugh, you’re so difficult!” She gently shoved Marie, making her stumble slightly.

“Says you.”

“Whatever, Grandma.”
