Chapter Text

The last piece of gear was dropped into the locker, followed by the door slamming shut. Johnny began his escape quickly, not being in the mood to be scolded at the moment. His mind was flooded with thoughts already, he didn't need ghost adding to it. Soap could already feel the thundering steps of Ghost on his tail, speeding up with each of his strides.

"Johnny, What the fuck was that out there?" Simon's voice was always so loud and demanding, could always take hold of a room.
" I know I fucked up, Ghost. Leave it alone, the misson still worked out." Johnnyed chided out, continuing his strides towards his room. He didn't need this or Ghost on his ass right now.
"Soap, turn the fuck around now when I talk to you, that's an order," Ghost yelled, his hand landing on Johnny's shoulder harshly as he forced the other to turn around.
"Ghost!" Johnny glared at his superior, challenging him. "Johnny, you almost fucked up our entire mission just because you can't fucking listen! You deliberately disobeyed my orders on holding back," Ghost yelled again, his voice vibrating the walls. "You could gotten yourself and the rest of the team killed! Whats the matter with you?" Ghost bellowed. "Sorry I'm not perfect, Ghost. Sorry I'm not like your Roach, Ghost. But, I did was I thought was right, and id do it again, wether I was going against your orders or not" Soap hissed out, every single doubt threading through those words.
It stunned him. Ghost, for the first time, was speechless. Johnny used this time to turn around and walk away towards his room, the sound of his door slamming knocking Ghost free from his mind.
"Simon, you alright, mate?" Price turned the corner, hand lifting on the man's shoulder. "Yeah... I'm fine, price," Ghost said lowly, eyes slowly making their way to Price's. "Ya know, he's been having these thoughts for awhile now."
"What do you mean?"

"Since we found roach in that old warehouse. Boy's been in his doubts since. You and roach have been together a lot, and I completely understand that since you just got him back, but he's probably worried. He likes ya quite a lot, Lt. He's a bit hard to get to when he's in this type of headspace, ya know? Just, go easy on em, please, the boy wears his heart on the sleeve" Price spoke, showing off the little crinkles at the edges of his eyes, his lips in a small smile.

"Of course, sir. Thank you for bringing this to my attention, Captain." Simon nodded.

"Of course, Ghost! I care about my whole squad, think of you guys as my family, even though you guys can be a big pain In the arse," Price laughed, making his way towards his office to start filling out paperwork and such.
