Summary
He wasn’t Batman, he couldn’t cloak himself in his loneliness so often that it solidified around him, became his normal to the point where letting people in required herculean effort (mostly, he knew, Batman just did not bother). No, in the circus, with the Titans, even in the Manor around only Alfred and Bruce, Dick was a people-person. Being isolated, pushed away, denied all the love and friendship in his life, hollowed him out.
Dick wouldn’t have survived these days, without Slade.
-
Alienated and estranged from those who gave him love and affection, Dick Grayson caught himself in the tangle of a relationship so tempestuous and wrong he never has admitted it to anyone else, lest they think even less of him than they already do. His on-and-off relationship with one Slade Wilson has been on for a few years now and Dick struggles to come to terms with what that means for himself, the shadows from his past and the mistake in his future. -
