Chapter Text
Ren should have stayed at camp. Camp was boring and lonely and hundreds of thousands of miles away from home in Japan but at least in camp there were no asshole rapists who tried to get kids arrested for playing the hero.
Well, actually. There were the gods who visited sometimes…
Yeah, whatever, the point was Ren really regretted coming back to Japan to try to live with his Dad. It had been awkward from start to finish and it ended with a bang and a court order to live out his probation in Tokyo.
Realistically, what had he imagined would happen after the man dropped him off in a foreign country at the age of six with a half-hearted 'good luck?'
Not knowing English had been hell in the beginning and he had only survived by the skin of his teeth and a whole lot of ancient Greek.
One brightside to this is that he should pass his English classes. If his dyslexia doesn't do him in.
If his dyslexia doesn't the spiders might.
Throwing a child of Athena in an attic is just plain cruel in his opinion.
Not that Sojiro knew Ren was a demigod. He might not even know what one is and Ren certainly wasn't going to tell him. No, it's better to just ride out this year of Tartarus-in-Tokyo and then go straight back to camp.
At least his bunk in cabin six didn't have spiders.
Today had been the weirdest day in Ren's entire sixteen years of life and that was including that one quest that he had been on that shall never be mentioned.
His school was a castle.
The king wears pink briefs.
Ren was maybe a little traumatized.
The cat was probably the only part he liked.
But he may have made a friend. Positives, right?
His dreams are getting weirder.
Demigod dreams are the worst.
Ren was taught to kill monsters since he was six years old. Mortal bastards who try to get kids arrested or expelled were not part of his curriculum.
He didn't want to hold Ryuji back.
Morgana is Ren's favorite person in the whole world and no one can change his mind.
Who needs an owl when you can have a talking cat?
Ann Takamaki speaks English. This is something he didn't realize he had missed in the few months he's been back in Japan but conversing in the language he's had to live with for a decade is surprisingly comforting.
They did it.
They really, really did it!
Sure, Ren made sure to pray to Hermes before the heist but the infiltration plan went off without a hitch, no gods needed in his opinion.
Ren had never been prouder of somebody than he had been of Ann today. She was the real hero.
Ren can't help but clutch onto the treasure tightly. An Olympic gold medal. How ironic.
