Chapter Text
Steve, Eddie and Robin are hanging out like they normally do, which is that Eddie and Robin are playfully fighting and rambling to each other. They’re in Steve’s house, more specifically the living room because the house deserves more happy memories. Steve being neglected and living basically alone are not good memories. Steve is sitting on the couch and watching them with love, because he loves his friends a lot and they mean a lot to him. They’re Steve’s closest and best friends.
He dissociates, and suddenly gets reminded of his ex girlfriend. He remembers how weird she sometimes acted, like she was hiding something but didn’t tell him what it was. Their relationship ended quite abruptly and she didn’t reason why it did. He then also gets reminded that she once kissed him against his will. That realisation scared and shocked him a bit.
Eddie & Robin noticed that Steve wasn’t really ‘there’ anymore and check in on him. They walk up to him and both sit besides Steve. Eddie sits left of him and Robin sits right of him. They ground him by each holding one of Steve’s hands which is closest to them.
When Steve is grounded he looks next to him and sees that Eddie and Robin are sitting next to him.
“What are you thinking about Stevie?” Eddie asks.
“I just suddenly got reminded of my ex, and realized that she wasn’t like I thought she was.” Steve replies.
When Robin hears that, she gives him a sideways hug and put her head on Steve’s shoulder. Eddie does the same on his side.
“We’re always here for you Steve, you know that?” Robin tells him.
Eddie gives a nod that confirms that he agrees with Robin.
“I know that, you two mean a lot to me and I love you two so much.” Steve replies with a sad tone in his voice.
Both Robin and Eddie hug him tighter and let him cry.
“We can take care of you if you want that.” Eddie says after they let Steve calm down, but you can tell he wanted to say it as a question.
“But you don’t have to though? I can take care of myself! Please don’t feel forced to do so..” Steve replies with hesitation.
“The thing is dingus, we want to and we don’t feel forced to. It’s your choice to accept our help and let us take care of you.” Robin says.
“I guess I accept it then, but do let me know when I’m being too much.” Steve answers.
“You’re never too much Stevie.” Eddie replies.
Steve blushes and holds them closer to them so they’re both properly hugging him. They all end up falling asleep cuddling together on the couch.
