Work Text:
“The first time I met Derek, he saved my life and said we were brothers.” Scott opened his mouth to continue but was immediately cut off by the sound of the front door banging open.
“What the hell is going on?” Stiles demanded stepping into the room.
Everyone turned to stare. “Stiles?” Rang out from a handful of people in the room.
“Okay great, I’m glad you guys all remember me because I was starting to believe that the wild hunt erased me from peoples memories again.” Stiles threw back in response. “Now let me ask again, what the hell are you guys doing?”
Lydia piped up this time. “It’s a funeral, Stiles…for Derek.” She was hesitant to say Derek’s name in front of stiles. Afraid of breaking the news to him.
“Why are you wasting time with a funeral, we need to be working on going and rescuing him from super hell or wherever he ended up.” Stiles looks around the room at the faces of his friends and family. His eyes land on Deaton. “Dr. D I’m going to need you to get all your books and herbs and whatever else together. Might have to have you call in some favors with some of your other Druid friends.”
“Uh stiles…” Scott says as he starts to approach his friend.
“Nope!” Stiles yells walking away from Scott and directly towards Eli. Eli just stands there and stares at him with red rimmed eyes as he approaches. Stiles giving absolutely no fucks, pulls Eli in for the tightest hug. “Everything is going to be okay, Eli. We’re going to get your dad back. I promise.” This must have been the last straw because after hearing that Eli’s composure breaks and he crumples into Stiles’ hug.
They stand there a few moments before Eli pulls his head up and runs at his eyes. Stiles looks over at his dad, “Dad, take Eli to get something to eat. I’m sure he is starving and the rest of us have some work to do.” Noah nods and puts a hand on Eli’s back, “You like cheese fries, son?” Eli steps towards the sherif and nods.
Stiles whirls around to face the rest of the pack. “Alright let’s get started. I need to know exactly what happened, no detail is a minor detail, give me the facts.”
Scott steps forward. “Stiles I really think we should talk about-“
“Not a chance Scott. You are my best friend but I am pissed at you right now. I mean how could you not have called me! Your ex girlfriend comes back from the dead and is hunting our pack and the nogitsune comes back and is trying to kill you and then my husband is burned alive by hellfire. I deserved at least a text! So no, we are not talking about this. We are going to rescue Derek from wherever he is and then maybe I will forgive you.” Stiles turns back to look at the rest of the group. “Now someone start talking, I need details.”
Allison speaks up, “Scott, Derek and Eli were fighting with the nogitsune. They pinned him to the tree stump and then Parrish stepped up. Derek told Scott that he had it and to take care of Eli. So Scott moved away and Parrish…well he did what hellhounds do.”
“Thank you Allison. Nice to have you back.” Stiles says with a smile and then starts to ponder the information. “Anything else?”
“Don’t forget the red eyes.” Jackson says, casually fiddling with his cuff links. Stiles’ whips his head towards Jackson, “WHAT?”
Jackson looks up to meet Stiles’ glaze. “Yeah, his eyes turned red right before he went up in flames.” He said it as the most casual bit of information.
“Holy shit! Derek became a true alpha! That’s gotta be it, that has to be out loop hole for getting him back. Jackson i would kiss you right now if I wasn’t so afraid of Ethan.”
“Please don’t.” Jackson moves farther away from Stiles.
“Okay everyone, research time. Follow Deaton to his place. I will be ordering food when we get there so no stops along the way.” Stiles says ushering everyone out the door. “And where the hell is Issac? Did someone forget to call him too?”
