"Alright mate, hand the gross stuff over" Sirius held out his hand. James drained the last of his tea and slid the cup over. Remus did the same, giving it to James, and Sirius passed it to Remus.
"What a load of rubbish" Remus muttered, staring at Sirius' tea leaves.
"God that right Moony" James muttered, swirling the cup. "Peter, Lily and the rest had the right thought to skip this class eh?"
"Now boy, we know that the art of divination is the easiest scoring subject, innit?" Sirius sang, mimicking the slightly crazy witch who had graduated a couple years before."
"Stop invoking the spirit of Trelawney you never know when she might show up" a girl from a neighboring table called out to them.
"Get to work boys," Professor Mayl chided from his table in the stuffy classroom.
"Bloody Mayl" Sirius groaned, pulling the copy of the book on the table open. "Alright, Potter, lets see what fate awaits you."
He flipped a couple more paged, occasionally stopping to examine the cup. "I have no idea what this is so i'm just going to make up a bunch of shite." he placed his finger on one of the markings in the book.
"Well you've got this weird hippogriff looking thing, so you're going to be betrayed. Sorry in advance mate, but if Lily asks me who ate her crackers I'm ratting you out."
James rolled his eyes. Remus snorted.
"This arrow looking thing says you're going to be hunted. Like I said, there's nothing saving you from Lily's cracker induced wrath" Sirius laughed. "And this here potato says you're going to die early, probably murdered. that's what'll happen when Lily catches you."
"You ate her crackers, asshole" James retorted. "Go on then Remus, make him die a gruesome death."
Remus smirked. "This flower says you will be killed by family."
Sirius snorted. "Not surprised move on"
"This hippogriff says you'll also be betrayed"
"That's what will happen when i rat you out for fake ratting me out" James grinned.
"Sure thing mate. this squiggle says Sirius will be imprisoned. And this says he will have a strange encounter with household items, like drapes" Remus finished.
"I'll just be watching my girlfriend trap you and then strangle you"
Sirius stuck his tongue out at James.
"What do I have in store for me?" Remus prodded.
"Well, you will also be betrayed, seems we'll all be betrayed" James began.
"Bet it's Sirius and then we all get him back for it" Remus smiled.
"As per this circle-ish oval thing, you will also be killed in a valiant battle" James continued, swirling the tea a little. "Oh you will have a teachers job at one point"
"Eugh" Remus grumbled. At the same time Sirius let out a barking laugh. "Professor Moony!"

"you've got this hippogriff that says you'll be betrayed"
Peter had betrayed them. he couldn't believe Peter had betrayed them. As Lily whispered her last goodbye and sprinted away with Harry, he could only feel the betrayal.
if only he had kept Sirius as his secret keeper. he shouldn't have played right into the hands of Voldemort. Darned Egg was about to come and kill him.
"This arrow looking thing says you're going to be hunted."
He looked back on the past year of his life. it had been the best in his life. yes his death was wanted by that oversold Egg, yes he was probably going to die, but he had his friends, he had Harry, and he had Lily and he couldn't ask for more.
"this here potato says you're going to die early, probably murdered."
James faced Voldemort, his head held high. He knew he won't make it past this day, this moment, but he could try to give time for Harry and Lily to get away. foolishly, he had left his wand in the living room.
Death wasn't painful, but Lily's screams were.

"This flower says you will be killed by family."
Sirius smiled to himself as he dodged another one of Bellatrix's curses. it was a lovely family reunion, they even had Lucius crawling around somewhere.
Andy was probably sitting with her family, Narcissa in Little Lucy's house. Regulus was gone. so it was a wonderful reunion.
Sirius' guard slipped, and Bellatrix's curse missed him by inches. he smiled at his godson, turning to his cousin. he remembered something.
"This hippogriff says you'll also be betrayed"
He was mad. he stormed down the street, tearing everything in his path. He wanted Pettigrew's head on a pike, and he wanted it it in his hands.
Lily and James were dead and it was his fault. Lily and James were dead and had he not insisted the change of keeper they wouldn't be. Lily and James were dead and had that rat bastard Peter not been a traitor they wouldn't be.
"this squiggle says Sirius will be imprisoned."
He fought against the Aurors holding him. He strained because Peter had gotten away, because Lily and James were not properly avenged. he clawed and bit wherever he could.
"He's mad" he heard someone say. "Probably just excited he killed The Potters and poor Pettigrew"
Sirius lunged at the source of the sound, trying to bite it's head off.
"Take him to Azkaban, Crouch says he ain't giving this one a trial"
Sirius' stomach dropped. If he went to Azkaban, peter would be able to live and Remus would blame him. he stopped moving, all the fight in him gone.
"this says he will have a strange encounter with household items, like drapes"
The memory weakened Sirius. He didn't realize Bellatrix had shot a spell at him until it hit him. He faintly heard Harry shouting as he let himself fall back into whatever was behind the veil.
At least he'd see James again.

"Well, you will also be betrayed"
Remus stood at the door of the cottage on Godric's Hollow. It was blown apart. he didn't know who was alive or not. Muggle Policemen were flocking the place. they were utterly baffled as to what happened.
"Two bodies, one male, one female, no visible cause of death" he caught from an officer.
His stomach dropped. Lily and James. But where was Harry? deciding he had to investigate for himself he cast a fast charm over the place. it was probably temporary, would last the next hour, too powerful a charm to be cast in a haste.
The Officers around the scene looked baffled as to where the house had disappeared off to.
"Bloody hell, not again" one of them muttered.
"Shut up Fisher, no one believes you" another muttered.
Blindly Remus obliviated and stunned as many as he could, not caring about the effects on their brain, not caring about how many people wouldn't remember what happened. all he cared about was getting in, seeing for himself.
He reached the door before he knew it. he stepped in, only find a body on the floor. James. it hadn't been nearly long enough for the color to drain from him. someone had closed his eyes. he could have been merely sleeping. Remus' heart shattered as he made his way up the stairs.
There was another body in the nursery. When he saw Lily, he couldn't hold back his tears, falling onto the floor in a fit of sobs. Harry's crib of conspicuously empty. Dumbledore he was sure.
Remus stood up, and wiped his tears. Ignoring the fact that he could never believe Sirius had done such a thing, he cast a more powerful charm around the house. He let his anger, and his pain fuel the magic.
He made it a place for any wizard to visit the memory of Lily and James Potter.
"As per this circle-ish oval thing, you will also be killed in a valiant battle"
Remus' body lay in the line of the fallen fifty for far to long. Even in death he was placed near Tonks.
Who knew where he was now? Probably wreaking havoc in heaven with Potter and Black.
Minerva smiled the weakest of smiles, as she wiped away a tear watching the body of the last of her favorite four students get carried away.
she had heard he died fighting, just as he had lived. He had even managed to take down Dolohov.
"Well, you will also be betrayed, seems we'll all be betrayed" James began.
"Oh you will have a teachers job at one point"
She remembered him, walking into the staffroom in 1993. He looked so awkward, because she knew he had never officially walked in, only snuck around with his mates.
The Marauders. They had been an honor to teach, however taxing. Minerva took pride in the fact that she could say she taught them Transfiguration. Remus had been the last one of them left.
She supposed she ought to pay a visit to Mary Cattermole, see how much the poor woman could remember of her days as Mary Macdonald.
Minerva put down her goblet. she would mourn later.
