Summary
Devi takes a deep breath. “When you called me an unfuckable nerd, I decided I wanted to prove you wrong. Lose my V-card. That was my goal for this year. It’s how the whole thing with Paxton got started, actually.”
Regret washes over Ben like the heat from the fire, starting at the top of his head and melting all the way down his body. “Jesus, Devi,” he says, “I didn’t actually mean it.”
“You did,” she says, looking down into her drink. “It’s fine, being mean to each other is our thing.”
-
California announces Covid-19 stay at home orders when Devi is living at Ben’s house in S01E10. His parents are stuck overseas, Patty is quarantining with her own family and Nalini and Devi are in a Cold War.

Summary
“But Will,” Mike says slowly. “I think you were wrong. I mean— no offense. But El doesn’t need me. She never has.”
“Mike—”
“No,” Mike interrupts, feeling somewhat stressed himself. “I’m sorry. But I need to say this.”
“Okay,” Will whispers, sinking back into the couch. He trains his eyes on Mike, giving him the overwhelming intensity of his full attention. “Go ahead.”
Mike takes a deep breath. “El doesn’t need me,” he repeats. “But I needed her.”

a reimagining of the couch scene in 4x09, because my brain works in mysterious ways.

Summary
Will’s eyes sting with tears, and his nose prickles with heat. He feels like he’s burning, like he’s on fire. But Mom’s right—he doesn’t have to be afraid. She knows, and she loves him, and she’s not leaving. All that’s left is the words. And he shouldn’t be scared of words. After all he’s been through, if what takes him down is the English alphabet, then the world has a really fucked up sense of humor.
He just needs to rip off the bandaid.
