Chapter Text
Atem was the lead guitarist of a rock band called ‘Millennium’. His closest friends, Jou, Anzu and Yugi, made up the rest of the band. It was awesome. He loved being on tour. Being on stage every night, hearing the fans screaming his name. He loved hanging out with his friends even when they weren’t rocking out. His life was perfect. Except for one thing. He had a crush on one of his bandmates.
Yugi was the lead singer of their band. He was the most hard core out of all of them. Always wearing black, leather, spikes, platform boots. He was nice to the fans, but if anyone tried to push him around, Yugi had an edge to him that made most people back down immediately. It was super hot.
The problem wasn’t just that Yugi was his bandmate. Of course Atem was worried about breaking up the band if it didn’t work out, but that wasn’t all he was worried about. In all the time he’s known Yugi, he has never seen him be… soft.
Atem wanted to take care of him. He wanted to brush his fingers through Yugi’s hair when it wasn’t full of gel. Hell, he wanted to be the one to wash the gel out in the shower. He wanted to kiss Yugi gently but what if Yugi only kissed aggressively? He wanted to lay in bed with him and slowly run his hands over Yugi’s body. But what if Yugi only wanted to get off and then leave?
Of course, if Yugi just wasn’t a cuddler, that was fine. Atem wouldn’t force him to do anything he didn’t want to do…
Atem shook his head. His mind was wandering too far. Was he just making up an ideal person? Was he even attracted to Yugi? Or just an idea of him?
Music was his life, so Atem decided to try to write a song. It felt like talking about his feelings without actually telling anyone anything specific. He wrote down every soft thing he wanted to do with Yugi. How well he would treat him if they were together. He affectionately titled it ‘If You Were Mine.’
It was the closest thing to a love letter he had ever written. And Maybe that was all it would ever be. Turns out, writing songs is hard.
His friends might be able to help, but he had no intention of bringing it to the band. He didn’t need them making fun of him for crushing on someone, or worse, asking who it was. Also, the idea he had for it was much softer than what they usually played. It wouldn’t fit with their current sound.
Whenever the band stayed in one place long enough to sleep, they always rented two rooms and took turns swapping roommates. Tonight, Atem and Yugi were sharing a room. After the show, Yugi told him he needed the room to himself for a bit first. Atem made himself comfortable in the lobby as he waited. He opened up his dating app to see if he could find anyone to help him pass the time. He was pulled out of his screen when someone walked through the lobby speaking loudly on their phone.
“Dude, you’ll never guess who just fucked my brains out. Fucking Yugi Muto from Millennium.”
Atem looked up before he thought about it. The guy was struggling to get his coat on and keep the phone against his ear.
“Yes, way! He was so intense. He asked me to bite him and scratch my nails down his back… I know! It was amazing.”
Atem didn’t really want to hear this. He got up and headed to the room.
He knocked when he got there. There was no answer. He used his key but only opened the door a little before calling inside. “Yugi?”
He could hear the shower running so he stepped inside. When he sat down on the unused bed, he heard the notification alert for his dating app. The phone on the table beside him lit up and there was a paragraph of a message. Atem started reading it instinctively.
‘Hey, Noah. Nice to hear from you.’
Noah…?
‘I’m sorry that you’re stressed. Of course I’ll take care of you. I’d start by giving you a massage. Take that stress out of your shoulders and your neck. Then I’d get you to lay down-’
The screen turned black. Atem clicked the button to bring it back.
‘Then I’d get you to lay down so I can massage your back. When I get to your pants, I’d take them off and pull your cheeks apart so I can lick your hole. I’d put a pillow under your hips so when you rock them, your dick slides against it. I’d eat your ass until you cum.
‘Before you get worried about the mess, I’m there with a warm cloth to wipe you down. Then I take the pillow away to the laundry. When I come back, I hold you close until you fall asleep.’
Atem set the phone back down on the table. Did he write that? Obviously he didn’t, but that’s exactly the type of thing he wanted to do with Yugi. Does Yugi actually like that?
Yugi came out of the shower with a towel around his waist. When he started digging in his bag for some clothes Atem saw his back.
“Holy shit, Dude. That looks really bad.”
Yugi just shrugged.
“It looks like he broke the skin. Let me put something on that so it doesn’t get infected.”
“It’s fine.” Yugi insisted.
“Yugi.” Atem said as he got off the bed.
“‘Tem, don’t.”
“Fine.” Atem headed for the bathroom. “You got a text by the way. And you might want to turn off message previews for that app.”
“You read my messages?” Yugi demanded.
“Just the one.” Atem admitted before he closed the door.
During his shower, Atem couldn’t stop thinking about the message. Not even the fun parts. That person had said that Yugi was stressed. Was Yugi stressed? Why would he ask the guy from the lobby to be rough with him and then ask someone else to take care of him?
Yugi was in his bed with his lamp off when Atem came back out. Atem got his pants on and crawled into his own bed and turned off his light.
“Hey.” Atem said into the dark. “Are you okay?”
“I said it’s fine, Atem. Let it go.”
“It’s just… the message… you said-”
“Can we please not talk about that? And don’t tell the others.”
“Why not?”
“It’s none of their business.”
“Well if it’s going to affect your performance-”
“It. Won’t.”
“Is it the number of shows? We can cancel some if it’ll help. I’m sure the others won’t mind some extra rest days too. Although the people that bought tickets might complain…”
“What the hell are you talking about?” Yugi shuffled around in his bed. When he turned on the light, he was on his belly facing Atem.
“You told that person you were stressed… What did you think I was talking about?”
“Nothing.” Yugi said as he looked away. “It’s not the shows. I’ll be fine.” He turned the light off again.
“Are you sure? You can tell me if you need a break.”
“I don’t need a break… but thanks.”
“Sure.”
Before Yugi had a chance to fall asleep, Atem spoke again.
“I didn’t mean to read your message. I heard the notification and thought it was my phone.”
“It’s okay.”
“Good idea using a fake name. I did that too. How did you get around posting a photo? It took me forever to try and disguise my hair.”
“I used a picture of a cartoon.”
“Smart.”
“Thanks.”
Atem thought he could hear Yugi smiling. Even if he wasn’t, at least he wasn’t mad anymore.
