There’s a lightness to Ava as she steps on the beach. Beatrice notices it immediately. It’s not pretend either. There’s no jokes, no hiding pain and fear behind a laugh or cheeky comment. Ava is actually carefree and happy as her feet touch the sand. Beatrice likes that. She likes Ava.
“Are you going to join me?” Ava asks as she runs into the water.
Beatrice hesitates for a moment and decides she can be carefree too, for once. She takes off her shoes and runs after Ava. They play around in the water. Then Ava kisses her. It’s incredible.
