Chapter Text
Another morning at BioSyn Valley meant another day of much-desired peace and quiet for Rexy. After being pursued and hunted for so long, Rexy was truly grateful (as much as any intelligent dinosaur could feel grateful) that she finally had a good place to settle down. Ever since that huge spiky predator, larger and younger than her was dead, Rexy was now officially the apex predator of BioSyn Valley.
Her new home provided everything: herbivores to hunt, shade to rest in, a constant supply of fresh water. By all her standards, it was paradise, far more so than her former home. Until, one day...
Rexy caught the scent in the air on that particular morning. It was unfamiliar...and yet, unbelievably familiar. She felt drawn to it for reasons she couldn't yet fathom, but her instincts told her that she would benefit tremendously by following them. And so she did, her heavy footfalls echoing through the forest as she followed the scent - no, scents. There were two of them. The Herbivores of the Valley, from the skittish Gallimimus and cautious Iguanodon, to the armoured Ankylosaurus and towering Dreadnoughtus, all fixed their eyes on the Queen alertly as she thundered as fast as her aging, aching legs could carry her, but she paid them no heed. The scents grew ever stronger, ever closer as she made her way to the small hill where water trickled down into the river. And when she turned to face the forest on her right, there they were.
A pair of fully-grown Tyrannosaurus Rexes like her. The one on her left had reddish-brown skin, while the slightly larger one of her right had a distinct light-green skin tone. Her scent-no, his scent had grown significantly muskier. But she still remembered him - and her. She remembered her siblings.
Any doubts that they wouldn't remember her were dispelled when they roared at her softly in affectionate greeting. Rexy responded with a trumpeting, joyous roar of her own. Finally, after all these years, she was with her kind again.
She drew near to the pair as they drew near to her. The Buck and Doe drank in their sister's scent, as she drank in theirs, the scents instantly bringing back a cascade of fond memories from their childhood together. Their snouts drew ever closer to each other as they continued inhaling each other's scents, before Rexy's snout met the Doe's snout in an affectionate nuzzle. They nuzzled warmly, lovingly, before Rexy turned to nuzzle the Buck as well. Unseen to them, Ramsay Cole smiled as he bore witness to their touching reunion through the Valley's cameras.
