Summary

He cups Wangji's cheek in his palm the way their mother used to when they were fussy, thumb stroking across his cheekbone. It is a gentle caress. An almost violent contrast to the emotions thrumming through Xichen's body. There is no lingering over what could have been when there is much to tend to regarding what was and is.
