Heroes Only Save People That Matter, Guess I'm Not One Of Them

Summary:

His life would be something most people would kill for. No kidding, he has like 5 assassination attempts on him because of my family. But he wonders why they would try to kill him if he doesn't matter that much? He doesn't compare it to the real heroes, the true heroes. Like my older brothers, one has the power to control people to his will and another with invincible fighting power. While my father can attack unsuspecting villains in the air. But that comes with a price.

After all with all the people that they are fighting for they can't spend time with him anymore. Every day he wakes up to a dusty and empty home, abandoned with the people that he had loved and placed close to his heart. But they broke it, shattered it into tiny pieces unable to be brought together again. So he wondered one day, one day where it was dark and dreary and they weren't there yet again, would it really be that bad if he joined the people that they are fighting against?

-

hero sbi but tommy is neglected by them so he joins the villains also known as the dteam (note: changed everything to 3rd person limited bc i just found out that existed, sue me)

Chapter Text

Childhood. What a particular thing. For some people, childhood is about hugs and warm homes. Childhood is playing on swings and slides and not worrying about a thing. Freedom is something that he will never experience.

Childhood is a word that brings anguish and loneliness. Dark nights waiting;  waiting for anything. Waiting for reassurance, but instead getting biting cold and frozen words. Words that don’t mean a thing. Words that would use any chance to hurt or stab you again and again.

Rushing footsteps and shouts are what woke him up one fateful morning. He was shaken awake and bleary, slowly coming to his surroundings. He didn’t know what was happening at all. Ignorant of everything, his past self.

But soon, he realised. Realised what all the shouting was for. He realised why he was awoken and dressed in a hurry. Mum is usually here with them, comforting him and explaining what is happening.

But she isn’t here.

She isn’t here.

Standing outside the emergency room, moving, constantly moving. And in an act of innocence, he asked Wilbs what was happening. He said that mum was going to be fine. His voice sounded shaky. His powers are going haywire.

Going to where his father was, he saw him in a ball, sitting on a chair. Mumbling, mumbling about how this couldn’t have happened. That he should’ve protected her. He didn’t go to him. Big brother wasn’t an option. He was in another room dealing with the voices. Dealing with what? He sat down. And he just stilled.

What is happening?

(Later on, empty words were said.

She was a wonderful woman who always stood up to the world.

I am sorry for your loss.

If you need me, I'll be here.

Don’t worry, she's in a better place.

He looked at the coffin as it was slowly lowered, and many people mourned that day.)

Empty and dust collecting is what became of his childhood house, not home never will be because she isn’t here- People never come anymore. Only him going out and coming back again. He has heard of the rumours of the dreary house seated at the end of the richest street.

Yet no one's ever seen inside of it, and the wood was rotting apart. Anyone who comes close would recoil just because of how haunted it looks and the cold air you feel when you come close. But it was just that, rumours. The truth of the place is not about ghosts and spirits, but instead abandonment and one child in the house. A story full of grief and suffering.

A story of a dead mother, an absent father, and two brothers. One guilty, and one overworked.. A family, one would call it. He would call it. After her death, they weren’t present anymore. They would go and work for her sake, to protect other people like her. A hero, they would call his father and brothers. Heroes, he scoffed.

If they were truly heroes, then would they have left him? Left him to die alone? He would think not. They are only heroes in their job description. Heroes for the government, only committing to work for the people.

The people that matter anyway. He wasn’t a person that matters to them. And oh boy, did they commit. Every day since her death, they don’t live in the house anymore. Their home isn’t the house that contains every memory of what used to be. Instead, their home is a giant building made of glass and steel.

This was where they worked and slept and spent their time. He visited the tower when they first moved in here. It was dull, and there were no colours. Modernistic, they say, as they fill the tower with the newest technology.

Many other so-called heroes lived in the tower-ones that just brush him off as spoiled or unimportant because of his status of him being related to the top heroes and yet not living inside the tower. Or just push him into the back burner as an employee of the tower that was insignificant. They had never heard of him, they claimed. He didn’t believe them.

Until he searched the internet one day. While in his bed and his family was away on a business trip. He put on the old headphones that were once Wilbur’s and searched away for videos on HeroTube of his family.

He continued watching the short clips that vloggers faithfully recorded, blurry images of the heroes saving civilians and fighting villains, till he saw one that caught his eye. Clicking on it, he thought nothing of it, it was just a clip on a news channel of one of many interviews with his family.

The HeroNews, Interview with the Top Three Heroes (Transcript) -

[Interviewer] : Hello and welcome to HeroNews! Where we are committed to giving you the top and newest information on your favourite heroes!

[Audience] : Clapping

[Interviewer] : Today, we have very special guests with us. Please welcome the Top Three Heroes! Messenger, Songbird, and Angel!

[Interviewer] : Now, everybody, you have all heard the rumours. So that leads us to our first question for tonight. The question is, are you biologically a family? We noticed that you have a unique bond with each other. Is it because you all grew up in the same house?

[Angel] : Yes, that's correct. We have heard of the rumours, and it is true. We are part of a family and grew up together. It was just my two sons and me.

[Interviewer] : Aww, that’s so sweet. The next question is, what are your thoughts and opinions of the motives of the Dream Tea-

Two sons, not three? Double-checking, he looped the video. Every time he hears those words feels like a stab to the chest. Not allowing him to breathe. He took a deep breath and put the headphones down, gripping his bedsheets..

He never considered me his son, did he? On his recommendation, he continued watching the same clip over and over again. People in the comments said they were such a cute family of 3. But it isn’t just them. Where is he? Did- did they forget?

When he first heard of that, he stayed up in my room. Not going to his weekly family dinners where they tried to connect. But as he heard them laugh and generally have fun. He cried. He cried hard.

Till his eyes were dry, and it would hurt if he spewed any more tears. That didn’t matter. Nothing mattered. When the sun was high, and his brothers were out, they didn’t even question my puffy eyes and dishevelled clothes. They just went about their day, like it was normal for me to not be there.

They just kept working. They never cared enough to actually see him. He wondered what changed from the hugs and stories every night. He wondered what he did to deserve it. This must be some way the gods are punishing him. It was always his fault. It was always his fault. It was always his fault.

When he first came out of my room it was a week later. A week of mourning and tears. Of doubt and hate, not hate for my family. Never, only him. He was the problem. They weren’t there. They left to live in the tower completely,to dedicate their lives to their work. He crumpled the note on the counter top from days ago. He had heard of the stories of what they accomplished in such a short amount of time, about how many people they saved when searching on the internet. He fell on the ground, looking at the dusty ground that hasn’t been touched since days before.

He took a bath.

The water felt cold and hot at the same time. Too much. Too much.

He changed his clothes.

The rough fabric brushed his skin. It was uncomfortable but miles better than wearing their clothes.

He ate some old food.

Food that wasn’t touched at all for the duration of the week. Food that lost its flavour. Food that is bland and disgusting, but he hasn't eaten in a week. He needed this. He convinced himself as he swallowed.

He went outside.

Ignoring the empty house behind me. Ignoring the feeling in his heart.

The sky was grey, and everybody was inside, waiting for it to rain. Yet it didn’t. Like how you waited for your family to come up to your room asking how you are? Walking, walking farther than he has ever walked before.

With his money in his pocket, he wanted to distract himself from anything. Everything. Soon the smooth concrete sidewalks and metal buildings turned into cracked wooden planks and broken brick houses.

The sun in the sky was hiding behind the greenery that barely survived. He needed to go home. This place is dangerous at night. But it's better than an empty home. Better than reminders of what used to be.

This place, which looks like it's falling apart from the neglect of the Hero Commission, is warmer than the house (not home, not anymore) . Soon enough, the lamps were lit, and fewer people wandered around. The moon replaced the sun and nocturnals awakened.

With his hands in his pockets, he nervously entered an area. An area he later discovered was a cafe. Taking in the view of a cosy restaurant with the smell of coffee in the air. He walked up to the counter. “Hello! Welcome to Niki’s Cove, what can I get you?” The nice-looking lady there said.

Fidgeting nervously while she waited patiently. Finally, he spoke. “Um, may I please get-” He looked at the menu while flinching at the hoarseness of his voice. There was a unique snack on the paper, he raised his eyebrow. “That?” He asked while pointing at the bee cookie covered in yellow and black icing forever preserved inside the picture.

Bees aren’t that common anymore, not after the refurbishment of the forest. The species was dying out.  He has heard that the children don’t even know what they are anymore. She smiled mysteriously and started to get the cookie and place it in a bag with their logo. Opening his wallet, he paid $2.99 for the cookie. Which was pretty cheap for the quality of it, he thought while eating it and with the hot drink in hand that she recommended to him.

It is peaceful here, with flowers he has never seen before and music in the background. He hasn't relaxed for a long time. He realised as time went on by, the night is when the cafe shines. With their amazing coffee and atmosphere, people who were tired and sick of the atmosphere outside were naturally attracted here. While there, he saw many unique people he would’ve never seen before stuck inside that home.

It was a breath of fresh air compared to the damp home, pushing that thought away as soon as it came. He looked up from where he was looking at his drink because of the loud bell and saw a fellow extremely tall and a dude who was a dwarf compared to him. But that’s not what he noticed.

What he noticed was that the people had bees following them. He gasped as he shot up. He needed to see them. They looked so pretty, just flying around. When he came closer, he heard them speak up while he watched the insects come to him. “-av this new job that pays really well! Anyways, here's your fresh honey Niki!” the short person said as he gave the owner two big jars full of the pale yellow liquid he hadn’t seen in years.

His eyes were blown as he saw them. “Who’s the newcomer here Niki?” The man taller than everybody here whispered as he pointed to me. He had the urge to cower just because he couldn’t see the full extent of his body.

“Oh he just came by today! That reminds me, I’ve never gotten your name before?” she softly said. “I- uh-, my name, my name, right! Tommy, yup Tommy’s my name. My pronouns are he/him and your bees are really cute. Did you know that? Um, I'm just going to shut up now.” he stammered. Well, there goes his good impression and his dignity. They just laughed, and he flushed his cheeks.

“Alright, nice to meet you Tommy!” The person that gave Niki the honey said. “I’m Tubbo and the person next to me is Ranboo. We both go with he/him as well” The probably seven-foot boy just waved their hand at him. They conversed, and he learned many things about them. Like how the bees are from Tubbo’s power, Ranboo has memory problems, and when he sat down as they rested for the walk that they were going to make, he learned about their ways of living here.

About how the heroes didn’t care so much for this area even though this was where the most crime was. About how they had to avoid different places because of the frequency of getting mugged there. How he had to wear less rich-looking clothes if he wanted to survive. How to cook with little money and find a place here. All of these things are stored in his brain for future reference, and he continues to visit the small bakery. He used their advice every time, and soon he became more familiar with the environment than his own house.

Getting along with the people living there. Like the man in the corner, when talked to, he gives you donuts and gossips about the hero society in his funny accent. His name is MD, strange but not the strangest he knows of. The two brothers stayed in the back of the cafe. The guy named Purpled is pretty nice and kind of annoying, but nothing he can’t handle.

His brother, Punz (seriously, what is up with those names?) has the same look as Technoblade, but he lets Purpled come with them to our not-harmful pranks on the richer dudes in the area so he must be not that bad. He scoffed at that thought. Why would they come here anyways? He knows that Punz feels bad whenever he shivers at his gaze, at least they care.

In the time that he spent in Ranboo and Tubbo’s apartment, he figured out more things about them and them about him. Under the dark sky and the TV spewing nonsense about the Dream Team, the Safety Rescue Incorporated, and the BeeDuo, they find out about his home life. About how his family abandoned him, and that’s why he stayed with them most of the time.

In turn, he learned about their pasts, about how Tubbo’s dad was an alcoholic, and how he ran away on one cold night. That Ranboo, with his memory problems, has forgotten everything about himself, even his name, and he’s scared that he did something to harm others.

They welcome him into their home, and he fits into their lives perfectly. Providing his side of the rent and more. Fixing up the furniture in the house and organising the odd assortment of items. Coming into Niki’s bakery every day and eventually getting a job there. He doesn't know how it came to that when he was just eating every day, but Niki says that he was good at handling Karens.

He should’ve known the consequences when screaming back at the rude bitch in the cafe once. But it’s fine. He gets to contribute more money to Tubbo and Ranboo without them being more suspicious (as well as getting away from the old house, where they don’t even visit anymore, why don’t they visit anymore, why, why, why, why-)

Every Friday night they would take a break and stay in the living room where there is the fraying sofa and a small vintage TV where they would watch whatever was on the cable that night. Usually, they would just stay silent and eat the snacks he brought over to share.

The noise from the TV, romance, action, or drama filled the awkward silence that indicated they weren’t used to him yet. He was the thing wedging in their relationship.

He knew the side glances that Tubbo would share with Ranboo. And it hurt. It hurts so bad. But it wasn’t as bad as staying in an empty home. At least there were people he could interact with. People he can talk to and won’t brush him off for being annoying (most of the time).

The job at Niki’s was fun as well. Not just for scaring away Karens, but the people he could talk to too. There are some very unique regulars there like MD and the brothers, such as a fellow who is really eccentric and has a big scar on his eye, Quackity.

He met him while taking out the trash. Apparently, Niki doesn’t let him do drugs in her cafe, which was not surprising at all. After the shock he was glad to tell him about his criminal empire, which was probably not a good thing to brag about to a 16-year-old he just met.

But that was his choice, moving on to another person who visits often is a subdued man who is colour blind and just sleeps all the time with the companion who has fire lit on his body, who has to drag him to get their order. He caught their names when they were fighting, it was pretty amusing to watch.

Others he sees are Puffy, fiance to Niki, who is very nice to talk to and even helps him with his problems sometimes. Puffy would make some tea and they would just talk about life and its ups and downs. On those nights he had less nightmares about his family leaving him forever.

He also met Bad and Skeppy, and when he cursed Bad would always yell “language!” Skeppy would just laugh while he stared at Bad’s figure, not his fault that Bad is a 7 foot demon! Antfrost was just there standing on the side, he didn't know what’s up with the hybrid.

Clay, oh get this. The older guy was so nervous the time that he met Tommy that he fell right in front of the kid. But in reality Clay is a bitch that cares too much and has strange glowing green eyes and burn scars all over his face.

One night while they were outside and drinking Clay’s favourite drink, the older man would spill some secrets here and there. Like how his family died to a villain attack because the heroes didn’t bother to save him and his family. He had only gotten out with his powers which he manifested earlier that day.

It was one of those moments where Tommy hated his family's job. He hated the fake heroes who would claim that they were beating up a villain and putting them for a life-long sentence just for a robbery to feed their family. After a couple moments of silence, Tommy would share that heroes had treated him badly before.

And if Niki and the others saw that they were a lot closer than before after the trip they didn’t comment on it. He held Clay’s hand tighter while they walked by any person that would stare at him for his physical appearance.

Smiling as he went home, that was a fun journey. But it was one of those days where he had to go back home because Tubbo and Ranboo were both out this time and they didn’t trust him enough to stay home without them.

Like what can he do? Nothing, bitch. he thought as he felt a pang in his heart. Opening the front door felt like a tedious task, it was too hard. There was something clearly wrong. It wasn’t silent like it usually was. He heard talking beyond the door. Who would be in there?

Sure he wasn’t in the house most of the time but no one would be brave enough to venture inside the house. He froze. “Wow~, this house is old” he heard a familiar voice say. “Wilbur, this is our house, stop talking bad about it.” Philza , Philza, said.

“Hmm, where is Tommy?” His older brother who wasn't here in his life when mother died. Why are they here? Why are they here? Repeating this phrase over and over in his head and slowly backing away from the door that now felt too hot to touch.

Why now? Why not so many years ago? When he was alone and had no one to turn to? Gasping as he tripped over the grass. Cursing the Gods. Soon enough they slammed open the door. In the doorway they stood.

Someone with pink hair braided and royal clothes. Another with soft brown locks and a voice that could kill. And finally a man who has majestic black wings on his back. This is what some people would call a family. It was, was, something that he called a family. Not anymore.

“Theseus?”

Chapter Text

Opening the door, there laid Theseus. He hadn't seen him in years, oh how he had changed. Instead of the dark blonde hair it was almost white. His skin has also lightened, wearing a pink apron with the words Niki’s Cove and a nametag with the name Tommy on a white shirt with cargo pants instead of the familiar white and red shirt and blue jeans. He looked almost frightened.

But that couldn’t be right? Maybe it's because we are in our hero gear? Yeah, that’s probably it. “Hey nerd, you’re this frightened of us in our costumes?” he asked to ease some of the tension. It didn’t work. He slowly stood up and brushed his pants afterwards. “Why are you here?” Technoblade flinched because of how cold his voice sounded. “Theseus, that isn’t the way to speak to your family,” father said.

His eyes hardened but he didn’t say anything. “Well, how are you? We haven’t visited you in ages! Oh! How is school? Did you get good grades? Hopefully so, you know-” Wilbur keeped nagging on while we all went inside. “Hmm, actually why are you wearing those drab clothes? Are you working? Na, that couldn’t be it, you're too irresponsible and you don’t need the money.” He snorted, Wilbur was too irresponsible to work with sometimes. What a hypocrite.

Philza began to freshen up the house, while he began to cook from the limited amount of food inside the house. “You know, you should buy some food. I barely see any, did you even eat?” He tried to joke, trying and failing to find ‘real’ food inside the cabinets. “How did you even live like this?” asking in disbelief. “Oh that’s easy to explain,” he started. “I go to my ‘fake’ job and work there for a couple of hours while getting free food.”

In a voice that was no longer quivering before us. He had really changed. He had told father that we had to visit sooner, we haven’t even been in Thesues’ life in so long. He had missed the hugging in the middle of the night and songs in the morning. He wanted to at least come back to some semblance of his younger brother.

“Well, you can’t work there anymore,” Father said while seated in the seat next to Theseus. “Wait, WHAT?” He covered his ears from the screeching. Father looked sympathetically at him. “Didn’t you know? You're going to be joining the hero program to become heroes with us.”

Technoblade was surprised when he just blinked, thinking that he would be happy to be right by their side. We were planning this for so long, he had to argue with Wilbur that no, Theseus would be safe and that you don’t need to worry so much about it. He was planning to show him a couple of moves and get to know him even better than before. Why didn’t he want to save people who are in need of help?

“But, what about my friends?” Now that was new information. “What friends?” Wilbur questioned. “My friends that I made at work?” Philza just sighed, clearly not believing that Theseus has work, he knows for a fact that a weakness of his is that he just believes what he wants to believe.

“Oh fine, you get one day. Only one day to say goodbye to your friends and we’re going.” Standing up, father looked even more tired to be here. He knew that it was hard to come back to their old home but he didn’t know that it would be this hard.

“And I’m coming with you!” Wilbur shouted from where he found a lollipop and is currently eating it. “And Wilbur has to come with you,” He just grumbled and went into where his room was. Technoblade just shrugged when dad looked at him.

“I don’t understand teenagers, don’t look at me” Getting off from the old chair, he also went into his own room. Going up the creaking stairs and going past the old paintings. He would have to take them down soon if they don’t want father to shout at them as he looks at mum.

Opening the door where he and Wilbur shared before he looked at the tape that separated their sides and brushed his hand against the photographs where he placed all the good memories. Eyes skimmed over the worn pink bed sheets and dusty awards.

Sitting on the bedpost and laying down. His feet were hanging as it was too short, but it was fine. Everything was fine. He tried to convince himself as he wondered, what made his younger brother change so much?

-

Waking up the sun shone in his eyes. The bed is too short, he huffed. Flipping to the other side he could see his brother sleeping soundly. How could he do that? Eh, it’s probably just a Technoblade thing.

Standing up and checking his Twitter like he does every morning. He has to do it if he wants to stay in the top ten and crowd favourite. Mostly everyone is talking about the team’s newest program. As he closed his phone and put it on the floor he frowned, why did Theseus look so unhappy, when we decided to enrol him in the program?

He should be excited! Maybe it’s because we left him for so long, but he wanted him to be safe. Safe like your mother? Look how that turned out?   He didn’t want to be hurt.

And that reminded him! He needed to accompany Theseus to his workplace for his retirement and saying goodbye to his friends. Honestly, why would Theseus need to have friends if we were here?

Opening the door and quickly changing into his civilian clothes. It was a soft yellow sweater, sweatpants, and wire glasses. Putting on his beanie he rushed into Theseus’s room. Pausing at the changes. Instead of the sky blue wallpaper it was now full of flowers.

Looking at his desk there were a few bee plushies. His bed was with red bedsheets and the most changed thing in his room out of all of them. Hearing groaning he quickly switched on my smile to look at him. He was still wearing the uniform from before. Must’ve hit the hay after he came upstairs. “It’s too early…,” he pushed him off the bed.

“It is never too early to have the last day with your friends.” He shot up from the bed. “WHAT? OH YEAH!” He quickly changed out of the uniform he wore last night and into his more casual clothes. It was a shirt that had a flag on it with the words L’manburg on the bottom. He was a bit confused but he’ll just ask about it in the car.

“Come on!” dragging Theseus to the stairs. “BOYS! MAKE SURE YOU EAT BREAKFAST!” He heard his father shout in the kitchen. “DON’T WORRY! I’LL GET SOME FOOD ON THE WAY!” He screamed back while grabbing the car keys and opening the front door. Outside there were some people who looked perplexed at us but he brushed it off as they did not see us for a long time. He hoped that the neighbours were still kind.

Getting inside the car, he looked at it strangely. “Come on, get it. You aren’t scared aren’t you?” He came inside and grumbled that no he isn’t and he’s a big man. Laughing as he started his car.

“Hey, where is the place?” Theseus typed on his phone, placing it in the holder. He raised my eyebrow as the destination was in the poorest part of town. That was the place where the most crime was, how did he even get a job there?

But he started driving. “So, how is school going?” he asked to start up some conversation. “The school shut down because it was destroyed in a villain attack.” He responded dryly. He gripped the wheel as he turned left. At the red light, he took a look at him.

“Are you still going to school? Because it might be hard to catch up with your classmates if you enrolled in the hero program.” He kept looking forward and soon it was green-light. The road soon turned rough as he kept asking meaningless questions.

“So how did you get your job?”

“Did you miss us?”

“Are you excited for the hero program?”

“Did you know that there was a hero student I really like? His name is Toby, I think you would like him.”

“So you don’t drive like me, okay?”

Not responding to any, he just kept on driving. Until Theseus asked a question of his own.

“Why now?”

“What do you mean?” Making a turn.

“Nevermind.” When he looked at him, he looked dejected.

Did I fail him again?

Stopping at the cafe that looks significantly better than the other buildings surrounding it, he turned off the engine and got out of the car. Entering the cosy building Wilbur asked him how he landed a job here. He just whispered back that he didn’t know. Before he could question how he didn’t know he ran off into the back of the building.

The cafe was nice in general, but a bit too old-fashioned for me. Wondering where he heard the name Niki from, he opened my phone and sat down in the corner, just waiting for Theseus. Opening the bird app he tweeted.

Laughing out loud as the replies poured out. He put my phone down, with its sea theme case and stared at the window, reminiscing. He was brought back to reality. “Wilbur?” A questioning voice said.

Looking at my side he saw Toby, our newest addition to the office standing there with the person he was seen picked up by. “Oh hey Toby! How are you here?” He just stared. “I usually come here? How come you are?”

He just laughed and motioned him to sit down on the other side. “I just came to drop off my brother,” he said cheerfully. “Technoblade?” The teen asked. “Oh no it isn’t him, it's my youngest brother. You’ve probably never heard of him.

Anyways, how was your day?” He brightened up and talked all about it. The tall teen next to him slowly began to relax as they slowly forgot about the reason that they were there in the first place. They didn’t notice as they saw a bright-blue eyed teen slipped out of the store.

Karl sighed at the missing information on this profile. He leads an organisation that sells information for money and one person is asking for this out of the blue character.

Cracking his knuckles he started to pull out the portals. Dipping his hand into the colourful spiral he felt the freezing cold, but as he did many times before he closed his eyes and waited for the expected.

“Wow! Back so soon?” He heard his fiance say. Laughing as he saw the villain standing dramatically over the people that he was punishing.

“And I was just getting to the good part,” jumping down he pouted at him while glancing at the now confused employees. “Now come on, get out.” As he turned to him he admired his scar over his face.

Quackity was so pretty. Shaking his head he snapped out of it. “I need help with this profile.” Pouring down a drink while they sat down where they usually do, the large window beside them giving them light from the neon signs outside of Las Nevadas. “Really? You never get that much trouble with collecting information.”

Taking a sip out of the cold drink, “have you heard of Theseus or atleast Tommy?” he asked him. “Well I have never heard of a Theseus, but I have heard of a Tommy. You know the one who caught me with drugs but was surprisingly fine with it? Near Niki’s cafe.”

“Well, that gives me more information on his profile,” putting the glass down. “Someone asked for him?” He was raising his eyebrow, “what would someone want his information?” He put his glass down as well. “It seems the person you had met is also known as the youngest child of Angel and is apparently missing.”

-

People could hear him stomping on the steps of the stairs, but their opinion doesn’t matter right now. As he slammed the door opened to the apartment he allowed himself to break down. Falling on the floor he curled up on himself and started to sob.

It feels like the time that he was locked in his room. Grabbing the fur of the rug he hugged himself tighter. Why was Tubbo near Wilbur? Why didn’t they invite him? Gasping as he couldn’t breath. Everything felt so hot. Just like before. Was Tommy just not good enough?

Looking around the room around him he broke . Grabbing the nearest thing he threw it, the item shattered so easily. Why was Tubbo with Wilbur? As he came to the kitchen he threw all the glass items, they didn’t deserve this. Not at all.

He felt the satisfying crack from the porcelain. Soon enough the floor was covered with debris, sharp items everywhere. He turned his attention to the couch, not caring about the wounds. Not caring about the future.

Picking up the couch on one side he threw it over. Tearing up the photographs over and over again, and letting the paper fall onto the ground. His hands burned from doing so.

Going upstairs to the room he scavenged where they slept, they didn’t deserve any of this. Scoffing at the shared bedroom. He wonders if they would ever look at him, truly look at him if he did something like this.

That Philza would stop looking at his documents and duties all of the time. They wouldn’t do that. They wouldn’t do that. He stopped caring for you after your mom died. Because she was the only thing that Philza ever cared to teach you.

Tubbo was his friend. Tubbo was his friend. But he didn’t care either. He would rather talk to Wilbur than talk to you. He tore apart Tubbo’s and Ranboo’s bedroom as well. Ranboo was a pushover, he would believe Tubbo more than him. He doesn’t trust him. Well he doesn’t trust him either.

By the end of his ‘tantrum’ the apartment was a mess. Books and papers and random items thrown everywhere. Furniture ruined forever with stains from water spilling because of the broken faucet. It’s a wonder that the other people hadn’t wandered in yet.

Smiling sickly at his work he knew that he shouldn’t be doing this. He knew that he was in the wrong. But he didn’t care, if they were just going to come back to his life unannounced then he would just leave them just like that. They didn’t care so he didn’t care. Simple?

It isn’t. Pacing around the mess he had one bright idea. One very bright idea indeed. Grabbing a lighter he picked from Bad in his pocket he took one of the last photos intact. It was him and his so-called friends.

Watching the photo become ashes and soon the whole building felt so good. Like a weight that was lifted off his back. Tommy didn’t have to care about this place anymore, it was gone. The fire alarm soon went off and he rushed out of the building, the orange flames flickering high.

Chapter Text

“Hello and welcome to HeroNews! Today we will be talking about the attack on an apartment complex. Alex, please explain” the frame switches to a man who is in the background of a burning fire. It is clear that this was pre recorded. Clamping my hands he looked at Ranboo, his platonic husband.

He knew that this was an attack, after all this was their apartment. But why? Why attack him? Sweating, he looked around the room to distract himself. Songbird (or Wilbur as he insisted to call him) drove him to the tower after they had heard that his home was set on fire. They were really rich he thought as he compared his apartment to where he is at right now.

There was actually design and everything felt so new, and the technology. It was amazing, ghosting his hand on the walls which were so technologically advanced. “You know if you are impressed by that you should see our equipment.” A voice snapped him out of it. His eyes widened slightly as he saw the number one hero right in front of him. Right behind him was Ranboo, that traitor.

“You left me!” Tubbo screeched while he stammered trying to explain himself. He then heard a laugh, oh no, they had forgotten Angel was there. “I’m sorry for laughing, it's just that you remind me of my sons.” The shortest of them all looked up at the hero. “Oh we do?” scratching his head on how they remind him of Messenger and Songbird.

“It's just how you interact. You act like Wilbur and Technoblade when they are fighting.” Laughing, he realised something he had been questioning about. “Who is your youngest? I think their name was Theseus.”

Angel frowned, “where is Theseus anyways? I swear-” he whispered under his breath. “WILBUR, WHERE IS THESEUS?” He shouted in the next room. They must be doing this everyday. He wondered what the youngest son was like, hopefully he wasn’t too rude to him. He wished to be friends with him to get a better relationship with him.

He sounds nice to be honest, a break from Tommy. He knows that Tommy is trying his best but he is always trying too hard to fit in. Even he know that there was something greater Tommy wanted to accomplish, it was always that way. Glancing at Ranboo he knew that he thought the same thing.

“What do you mean by Theseus?” Wilbur walked in the room and sat next to Technoblade who was just reading quietly. “I mean where is he? I entrusted you to him.” Wilbur blinked. “I thought he was already here.” How would they forget a family member? Oh well it isn’t his business. He turned on the TV. They were still going on about the apartments. “By the way have we figured out why they would target Toby?” said Wilbur during the commercial break.

“Wilbur,” Philza hissed. “Did you leave Theseus in his workplace?” A person who was born with privilege still chose to work? How strange. “It isn’t that important, he could just come back again.” Wilbur said without consequence. Technoblade slammed his book down on the table.

We all jumped. “Theseus may be missing because of your actions. Remember that Wilbur, you might've lost another member of your family because you just forgot.” He said grumply and changed into his hero clothes and went out of the front door.

Wilbur just grumbled and said something that sounded like “overprotective bastard.” Philza just sighed and went back to paperwork. He made eye-contact with Ranboo. He didn’t want to have a relationship like Songbird and Messenger.

-

Awaking on an unfamiliar bed was very uncomfortable, he decided as the tall teen tried to stretch but kept hitting the roof of the tower. As he looked over his best friend he smiled softly and opened the blinds. Hopefully they wouldn’t mind. Tubbo needed to sleep badly.

As he went down the stairway and into the kitchen he saw Messenger making coffee. Standing next to him Ranboo started to make some cereal.”So, did you find him?” He asked to start up some conversation while the coffee machine was brought to life.

He doesn’t really seem to be a coffee person. Ranboo heard some grunting while pouring out the milk onto the lucky charms. “I didn’t find him, we have to write down a missing person report.”

He pulled out a chair and started eating. He hadn't had a proper meal in a long time so might as well enjoy it.. “Does he usually go like this?” If Theseus does this often it would explain Songbird’s reaction but not Messenger’s.

“I don’t know” He heard the older man whisper. “Let me tell you something kid.” he said after a while of silence and drinking of coffee and milk. “When mother died we were really upset so we left him for a while alone inside this house. Now I know that was wrong, so don’t say it but we haven’t been in his life for a long time.”

Messenger took a long sip of the brown liquid. “You seem nice, just don’t let them corrupt you.” Wondering what that meant, Ranboo just said nothing and continued to eat in silence in the early hours of the morning.

Soon enough someone burst in. “Good morning Technoblade and Ranboo.” Grabbing his own cup he looked at Ranboo. “I have been trying to find the reason why someone would burn down your building.” Angel whispered after a couple of sips. “What I found is nothing, no motives, no suspicious people. Do you know someone that would try and burn down your home?”

Ranboo closed his eyes and thought of some people, but they didn’t hate them enough to try and kill them would they? Ranboo shaked his head. Angel frowned, he figured he didn’t want to make them mad. “Oh well, have you found anything about Theseus?” He looked towards Messenger for the answer he asked earlier, Angel got the same answer. “We need to look for him.”

“And Toby and Ranboo will come with us! Right?” Songbird and Tubbo came inside the room and took their seats. “We will?” Tubbo looked surprised, he was too. Why would they want them to come along?

“Yes, it would be so nice if you decided to come and help us! Right dad? We do need some help.” The brunette said. The oldest man just hummed, “okay but Technoblade and I are coming with you just in case.” Messenger nodded his head as he cleaned up the mugs and plates that were left on the table. “Fine~ can we go now?”

“You just want to get out of the tower.” Songbird just smiled and motioned Tubbo and him to follow. He did what he was asked. He would’ve never expected the Top Three Heroes acted and lived like this. Gasping as they went into the changing room. It was full of things that Tubbo would and will drool over.

Everything was accented and smooth, metallic and perfect. Running towards his hero suit, “welcome to somewhere you are not supposed to be.” Songbird grinned and went inside the glass.

Trying to reach him in worry but when he and Tubbo looked at the suit there was the hero being fitted into the suit that was floating towards him. This is so cool, he thought to himself. Eyes wide Wilbur came out, “now you can’t do that yet since we don’t have the space, but once we clear up the area you can do that too. Welcome to the hero world kids.”

Coming out of the stall they placed just for this he admired his hero suit. Well, his vigilante suit but upgraded. And it was upgraded all right. When there was supposed to be a simple worn business suit with black pants that we found in a cheap thrift shop there was a fresh looking suit that probably contained some metal. The red tie was bright and soft, the gloves he wore were comfortable and his shoes were easy to move around.

Smiling as he saw Tubbo come out as well, with his new bee suit. It was more reinforced and tech-based from what I could see. “What about our masks Mr. Songbird?” He asked hesitantly, he quite liked the black and white mask and glasses covering his face. “Oh, you won’t be needing them anymore after you join our program. Also, don’t call me mister. Makes me feel old like dad.” Songbird, or well Willbur shivered.

The first time they came outside everybody looked at him and his husband. He shivered, he wasn’t used to seeing their faces. Technoblade kept me close by his side, probably noticing his nervousness. Tubbo seemed to glow under the attention of the people.

He guesses it's because he was just born that way, an actor. Wilbur seemed to be that kind of person as well from what he could see. Keeping that thought for later he waved at a group of people. They just stared and soon started jumping. What caused that reaction?

Hearing a ping on his new earpiece he now knows what it meant. There was an attack, a villain attack on a series of banks. Our very first one on the job, it was really it. They soon started running towards the coordinates that they were given. Philza and Tubbo in the sky, Technoblade and Wilbur were running.

He teleported to the area to see what the damage was, just like always. He froze as he saw the smiley face. No, it couldn’t be. But the evidence was right in front of him. Why would they be here? The Dream Team , they were the ones responsible for the attack. As he looked around he saw Inferno setting fire to the place and 404 glitching everything around him. Now where is Lucid?

“Who do we have here?” Looking to his side he saw a green glowing hand right next to his face. “A little hero, isn’t it? I have never seen you before, what a unique power.” Lucid tilted his head, the coldness and curiosity in his voice, towards me was painful. That was never a good thing. Never. His hand gripped the younger’s hair, he winced and quickly quieted. “You would be a good hostage.”

Why does he have to be so useless? Come on do something Ranboo. “Oh no you don’t!” A black and yellow blur kicked him on the head. Thank prime, Tubbo and the others caught up. Dropping his hand, Ranboo kicked his shins. Wincing as he was grateful that it wasn’t him. “Gosh! Inferno, 404, we have company.”

He threw a sphere of green light towards them, they dodged as the object went past them. They felt fire lick their skin as Technoblade attacked Inferno. They could fight major villains, but not someone like Lucid. Do hero interns usually get him on their first mission?

Gasping as I went close to the villain, teleporting left and right as Tubbo threw his stingers at him. Being surprised when he caught them, “you know your tactics won’t work on me. We already have most of your information, Honey and Ender, or should I say Toby and Ranboo.” I heard a smile in Lucid’s voice while he just kept fighting, even if it wouldn’t be as effective they still had to try.

But the battle will end soon, because we heard a voice coming through the comms. The villain’s face dropped. “RETREAT, I SAY RETREAT” So they were aware of that as well. The work isn’t done yet as he looked at the broken buildings and glass.

Chapter Text

Tommy was moving through the city, he had never been brave enough to venture to these parts. But he has to, why was he so stupid. He could’ve gotten arrested! But the satisfaction when he burned it all to the ground.

Kicking the rubble in the ground he avoided anyone here. He knew how to hide, he knew how to steal. That was the only thing that Tubbo and Ranboo were good for. But can he use that knowledge to survive? He was just a rich person coming into the dirtiest part of the city expecting what?

Looking through his pockets he knew only one place where he would go. Walking into the small shop was like when he first walked in. “Hey Tommy! You missed yesterday, what were you doing?” Niki asked me as she prepped the pastries for showing.

“Oh nothing,” he smiled nervously as she turned to face him, she gasped. He was quickly brought into the back, “What happened, you look like you just avoided a fire!” That wasn’t so far from the truth.

“Here I have some spare clothes, what happened to Tubbo and Ranboo are they okay as well?” She gave him the clothes and he slowly went and walked into the bathroom. “I haven’t seen them,” the truth. “You have to be more careful, my guess is that you probably were affected by the fire by the district's apartments. Who would do such a thing?”

“Apartments?” He asked. He thought that it was only one. Putting his burnt shirt to the side he gripped his side. It seemed that he didn’t get away from the fire fast enough. Searching through the cabinets he found what he was looking for. A roll of bandages, nice. Wrapping the tape around his body he figured that it wasn’t safe but what other option can he get? “Yep, apartments.”

Opening the door as he breathed in cool air from the outside, walking towards Niki. “It was all over the news, I thought you already knew.” She threw an apron, catching it he went to the TV to turn it on. As he fiddled with it it turned on and off randomly, it was always like this but this was the only television in the area as far as he knew.

Moving the antenna he walked away and went to the counter to finish Niki’s job on the pastries and started up the coffee machine. “Hello and welcome to HeroNews! Today we will be talking about the new vigilantes turned heroes! Please welcome Honey and Ender, also known as Toby and Ranboo!” He snapped his head to the screen.

There stood Tubbo and Ranboo, he started giggling. He didn’t know why, did they really leave him and then take his place? A place that was supposed to be his? It wasn’t his place, it was never his place. He knew that his family would rather take the Beeduo’s side instead of his according to what he saw. He saw the videos of Toby in the car while Wilbur was talking shit about him. He saw the interactions with him and his family. Why would Tubbo trust them instead of him? Why did he forget? Niki came out. She noticed when he pointed to the screen.

“Oh yes, Tubbo’s job! How could I forget? He was so excited, I guess that it was lucky that he found Sleepy Boi’s Incorporated.” She didn’t notice the look on his face. It was lucky that she didn’t. A clattering sound echoed through the empty and unopened shop when he dropped the platter he was holding.

“You do know that you just cannot drop a plate of perfectly good food! It’s a waste, didn’t they already tell you of the job?” She was picking the fallen food on the ground. I avoided her eyes when she looked towards me. They were wet. They didn’t trust me. Not at all.

“Can I take another break? I think I need it.” He helped pick up the iron plate as well. “Well, if you really need it.” The sun was out and the sky was lighter than before. He threw his apron on the floor. If Niki knew about Toby’s job then she was not to be trusted.

How foolish of you to harm other people with your selflessness. This is why your family left you.” There was nowhere to go. He couldn’t go back into the shop, he couldn’t go back to the apartment, and he couldn’t go back to the old house.

Soon reaching new territory, a park that looked like its only visitors were people who were lost like he was. Sitting down on the bench and ignoring the cold metal on his thin pants he took out his phone. 56%, good enough he supposed.

There were no notifications, he wasn’t expecting any. Scrolling through his contacts he searched for anyone that could help. His finger was hovering over a name. Clay, he hoped that one interaction with him would take pity on him. Taking a deep breath he pressed the call button.

“It’s that big park right?”

“I see you, coming in a sec.”

Call Ended.

-

Dream didn’t know what he expected when he picked a call from the kid he met weeks ago. He thought that it must’ve been a prank or a dare. He paused. “H-hey Clay? I need help.” Tommy said in a weak voice. A voice that he never heard him talk.

“Tommy? Is this you?” He heard Tommy confirm. “Oh, really You need some help?” He heard the strong winds of the city in the background. Checking the forecast it was about to rain. “Alright where are you at?”

“I’m in the park, a park with lots of greenery.” He grabbed his raincoat and 2 umbrellas. “Coming right now, don’t worry okay?” He rushed to get the keys and started up the car. Ignoring the blood-stained tools behind him he started driving. Pulling the thing down so they would be out of sight. No need to scare Tommy. “It’s that big park right?”

Putting his bright green rain coat on he opened the door and the rain was starting to pour. He winced. He hoped Tommy would be okay. Looking around the fog he squinted his eyes. He saw a slide, some swings, and a wooden pathway. But no Tommy, looking further out he saw a bench with a person on it. “I see you, coming in a sec.” Ending a call since there was no use in it anymore.

Running towards Tommy he paused. “Hey Tommy are you alright?” Instead of the uniform of Niki’s cafe like he had always seen him in he saw him in a red and white shirt and blue jeans, but that isn’t the worrying part. He saw him curled up in a ball on the bench. He couldn’t see his face and his phone was soaking wet.

Holding an umbrella for him he cursed, he had forgotten the towels. Dream though he didn’t need them. Dragging Tommy back to the car was creepy. Tommy wasn’t saying anything. Looking closer he thought that the water on his face was tears and not raindrops. It was raining cats and dogs by now.

He opened the door for Tommy, the drops hitting hard on the umbrella. “Come on, if we stay here any longer you might get sick!” He tried to joke as the younger boy went inside. After starting up the car, he stayed there for a while, the windows in the vehicle were fogging up and cold to the touch.

He hoped that Tommy wouldn’t catch something. “Why were you out there?” I asked him. Tommy didn’t respond. Dream was looking worried as the clothes finally dried. The pounding on the water hitting the car was loud.

He started to tap his foot. When you got close and really looked at Tommy, you could see that his hair was messy, his clothes didn’t fit and he wasn’t moving. I put my hands on the car wheel.

Then he was soon in a hug. Tommy was crying loudly. His tears wet my shirt once again. He paused and hugged him back. Tommy was cold, But the hug was still nice. He hugged him tighter.

Looking at his phone as he tapped his foot on the ground. Where was Dream? He was supposed to be here by now. Looking to his left he saw George do the same thing. The rain was going hard and heavy yet they didn’t hear anything from the missing blond.

The brightness of the phone hurt his eyes, checking Find Me constantly. Dream wouldn’t leave them right? Dream wouldn’t abandon him and George. “Did the heroes capture him? Was he hurt?” The mutterings of what might have happened didn’t help at all.

The door finally opened, standing up as George was already opening the door. He heard George hug the man. Running towards them he joined the pile. Dream was wet from the rain and it was uncomfortable, but he was back.

He didn’t leave us. “Where did you go man! We have been looking for you forever.” Dream put his arm behind his neck which he knew was a sign of nervousness. “Rather, what did you do this time?” George added as he pulled Dream back inside.

“Uh well, meet Tommy? The person I told you about, the one that works at Niki’s?” Sapnap then noticed the teenage boy behind Dream. Tommy was about as wet as his best friend, the water dripping to the floor.

“Who is he again?” He didn’t remember the face of this person. “You have never met him before.” Dream got the towels from George. The colour-blind slapped the taller one. “OW, why did you hit me?” He said while pouting and wrapping the towel around him. He also handed one to the teenager who graciously accepted it. “I hit you because you were stupid. Why did you leave and didn’t tell us you were going!” George continued to hit Dream while he tried to run away.

He moved closer to Tommy. “Hiya, did you know that Dream and George do this like every day?” Tommy looked confused, “Dream?” His eyebrows raised. Didn’t Tommy already know his name? “Dream is his nickname.” He explained. “Actually why are you here anyways?” An accusing voice said.

He looked where Dream was on the ground defeated and George was sitting on the table. “I needed help and my only option was Dream.” He quietly said. The silence came back once again. He looked towards George and Dream, they made eye contact.

We will be talking about this later. Dream nodded. “You can stay here until you know!” He grabbed the younger’s hand and dragged Tommy to the guest bedroom. “HEY DON’T STEAL HIM!” He heard shouting behind him. “LEAVE, I NEED TO TEACH DREAM MORE.” Screaming was going on. “Is that normal?” Tommy asked as we went up the stairs.

“Yes.” He quickly responded as some crashing noise was going on in the background. Opening the door with the creek he said, “well you better go to sleep soon, we would offer you food but it’s already really late.”

Tommy looked around the room, he seemed to like it. Leaving him alone in the room to get used to it he grabbed some blankets, bread if he was hungry, and some medicine and left it out the door. Going downstairs where all the noise has stopped.

When he got downstairs Dream and George stood on opposite sides of the room with broken things all across the room. “You do know that you need to clean it up.” Grabbing the broom and duster in the corner.

“Dream, why did you bring a teenager to our base?” Avoiding all the dangerous parts he started brushing. “I brought him because he called me asking for help. We became villains to help civilians George, you got to understand.”

Groaning was heard and the brunet crossed his arms. “I do understand, I understand that you brought a suspicious person here. He could just kill us in our sleep!” So they were arguing about that.

He wonders how this would turn out, putting the cleaning supplies away because he could see no change to the floor. George would usually win one of these arguments because he had sound reasoning but Dream seemed really invested in defending the child’s life.

“He is just a child!” George was starting to glitch out. “A child that could be trained to kill us!” Crossing his arms. “Look, we can keep him until he has someone to live with! Prime, do you want to be responsible for someone's death just because we couldn’t take care of him for a couple of days?” Dream shouted. George huffed. “Fine but don’t blame me if we end up dead.” Shutting the door behind him George went to the kitchen.

Sighing Dream sat down on the couch. After a few minutes he got back up again and grabbed the forgotten cleaning supplies. Throwing one to him and started to pick up the biggest pieces on the floor.

Huffing as Dream just smiled at him and joined him in picking up the shards. “What did you throw anyway? It looks like an elephant bursted in the room.” Broken mugs and picture frames, he was lucky that it wasn’t worse. Dream just shrugged.

After cleaning up he went up into his room passing the guest bedroom where Tommy was in he thought to just take a quick look inside. There wouldn’t be any harm right? There was a bump in the blanket and some wrappers to his side.

Well it was nice that he ate something. We would’ve been a bad host otherwise. Going into his room he laid on his bed. He didn’t mind Tommy, he had heard some nice things about him from his fiance if he digs through his memories but it would’ve been nice for Dream to ask about their opinion on it.

The next day he climbed out of the bed. Blearly walking down the stairs he saw the teenager who was already awake was eating cheetos on the couch. He looked more comfortable and warm than yesterday.

Less pale as well. Dream was right next to him and he was talking about how he was doing right now. With no interest in listening to their conversation he continued to the breakfast Dream already cooked us.

He said that Sapnap wasn’t allowed in the kitchen any more after the incident, which is stupid since it only happened one time. “But you almost burnt down the entire house last time that you tried to cook.”

George responded as he probably noticed his pouting face. “You burnt down water, I didn’t think that was even possible.” George then went up to the TV and turned it on while unlocking his phone, side effect to his power he says, Sapnap would just say that he is addicted.

Spreading the cream cheese on a bagel he went to where everyone else was. Dream and Tommy seemed to already have finished the conversation and were now focused on the television.

The heroes are currently investigating the attack in Apartments 52 to 68. It seemed like it was a planned attack and was started by a villian with intentions to hurt the new heroes in the SBI, Toby and Ranboo. Currently they have no leads but stay inside and out of harm's way. This is HeroNews and thank you for listening.

“Well who wants to come with me to get some groceries?” He asked all of them. It was kinda creepy how everyone stared at him. “D-did you even hear the news Sap?” His colour-blind friend spluttered. “Oh yeah I did, it will be fine~” He sang as he got his jacket and boots as it was still wet outside.

Looking at the distracted teen he soon had a mischievous grin on his face. “Hey Tommy, do you want to join me?” Dream soon glared at me. “You don’t have to do it if you want to but it would be fun.” After the youngest looked at the leader he nodded. “Great! Come here, we're going to get some burgers first-”

A hey was heard but ignored. He was still hungry from the bagel. “And then we are going to the mall and if we still have some money we can get you some new clothing and maybe toys if you want.” Feeling through his wallet in his pocket, they had enough and some to spend. “I am not a child.” Tommy huffed.

“Sure.” Rolling my eyes we soon reached the place. “Bad! I’m back!” I shouted into the restaurant. “Muffin! There are customers!” Looking through the empty shop he gave him a look. Exhaling the tall man led them to one of the many tables.

“You know what I want. What about you Tommy?” He was still looking through the menu. “I’ll get the cheese burger and honey muffin.” He said after a while. Bad looked from his pad. “Yup, also I think I recognized you.” Bad narrowed his eyes.

“Aren’t you the one that sabotaged my supplies with the two boys with you?” Tommy just laughed in nervousness. “Well as long as you aren’t doing it again, I'll forgive you.” Bad walked away.

Glancing at Tommy, he wanted to start a conversation. “So how did you meet Dream again?” Tommy lit up and started to rant frantically. Apparently they met when Dream was visiting Niki’s, he was a worker there. Laughing about how he only got the job because of how unique he annoyed unwanted customers. A bell rang and Tommy stood up to get the food.

Another bell was rung from the entrance. Eyes widening as he saw his husbands. “Hey, pretty boys!” He ran into his fiance's arms. Quackity just laughed and hugged him harder. Karl came up to them and smiled at me.

“I haven’t seen you in a while, you have changed Sap.” The colourful man hugged me as well. “I’ve changed how?” He asked while posing in an obnoxious way. “Am I more,” pause, “hot?” They just all burst out laughing until they hear a cough. It was Tommy standing in the corner with our drinks and burgers.

“Am I interrupting something because I can leave if you want to.” Tommy said awkwardly while fidgeting around. “No no you're fine, come and sit with us.” I ushered him to the table we were sitting in and the trays were placed on the plastic table. Tommy soon looked relaxed and we had to leave them because it was getting late and they needed to get the food. Though they did leave with an appreciation of Bad’s muffins and a will to visit this place again.

Going into the store he nodded at the cashier that lazy waved back. Pulling out the grocery list, Tommy came back with a cart. Peppermint, Pepsi, Coke-cola, bread, beets, potatoes, rice, pig meat. One by one the items filled up the cart with Tommy’s clothes. They heard a commotion in one of the sections.

Punz was standing in the grocery aisle looking confused at the different kinds of cereal while Purpled was just standing there looking at the candy. “Come on, choose what you want already! You are taking forever to choose what you want.”

Purpled threw some sour patch at his older brother. “But the lucky charms or fruit loops? There are many different types of cereal Purpled.” He said without missing a beat throwing some frosted flakes.

Purpled threw some sweet tarts for retaliation and Sapnap nudged Tommy and threw some gummy bears at Purpled. He threw some gumballs back and he saw Punz throw some raisin bran at Tommy.

“Oh that was a mistake.” Tommy threw mac and cheese containers at the two of them and Sapnap hurled a few gram crackers and marshmallows at the brothers. “It’s on.” Shouting insured and the store had to throw us out.

Chapter Text

When they came back George was thoroughly mad at them. But it did make sense when they were covered with all sorts of condiments all over their clothes and got banned from the closest grocery store.

But he thinks that it’s just because they invited more people to join them inside the house. As he fidgeted with his fingers, people conversed all around him.

He wasn’t used to that. Most of the time he’s only with Niki, Tubbo or Ranboo and even though he doesn’t feel comfortable around them anymore it was so much better than the encompassing silence if he were to be left alone. But this was the exact opposite.

There are more people than he had interacted with all at once and sure they are kind and treat him well doesn’t mean that he is used to this sort of attention.

“Hey! What are you doing sitting and moping about? This is a party!” Sapnap shook him as he heard Clay in the background saying that it was not a party and no they will not be drinking alcohol because there are children here.

Laughing at the ridiculousness of it all he pushed these thoughts outside for later. After all with his friends, his friends, here he has a lot of time on his hands. He had never been as free with Phil. He was free…

-

Phil rubbed his hands together. There is a big problem, Theseus is missing. Sure they had filed missing person reports but that had been ages ago.

Maybe a few weeks and he could see the restlessness of his father and brother. He knew that they were used to just leaving him to his own inside the house but now since they didn’t know where the fuck he is at they feel unprepared because what if Theseus was kidnapped?

Or tortured? Even if they didn’t visit often he is still his son. His annoying childish son but still his son. There was also the problem of Tubbo and Ranboo needing to train to become true heroes.

They didn’t have proper training and since with him being missing they couldn’t go with the hero internship plan. It was between saving Theseus or training Tubbo and Ranboo. Sighing he closed his eyes.

Sure Theseus was in a dire situation but he could wait a little longer right? He was grown and if they didn’t train the duo then they couldn’t save the masses of people. They needed to save what mattered the most.

Standing up and groaning he looked at his family on the couch. He would be found soon, just needed more police and public support to save him…

Sam was the warden, simple as that. He worked as a mole inside the police force working for Quackity, although his relationship with him is more like a partnership. He was to report any suspicious behaviour and information in order to help the villains.

So imagine his surprise when the heroes commissioned a mission to help find the youngest son of the heroes. And what does he find in the place of the picture in the missing poster?

A boy he had seen countless times before. A boy who helped him secure the spot working under Quackity in the first place.

Tommy Innit or Theseus Watson was right before him, he was in the shared home where he had met his boss and best friend.

He had the choice of spilling the secret or keeping it. And sharing a look with the informant Karl he walked up to him. “Hey, do you want to learn how to pick locks?” Oh how far he has come…

-

Clay or rather Dream didn’t know what to think of his new roommate. He was funny and kind and sometimes sarcastic but he had that look in his eyes whenever he showed him his carefelt feelings as well, as if he wasn’t sure what to do or think, as he was never returned the same care before.

He had researched a bit after there was a new worker inside Niki’s cafe as he always does but what comes up surprises him. There is nothing. Nothing at all, no information about a Tommy Innit inside the database.

So he was suspicious but after talking to him he realised it wasn’t that bad. He was another teenager working to earn money. And then there was this night outside the balcony.

It was strange for sure but he had this indescribable feeling that he could trust Tommy with all his secrets. That he could spill it all out and he did, and he was glad because what came after wasn’t pity it was companionship.

He shared his experiences with heroes as well and so they clicked. So when he looked towards Tommy and the poster before him he felt betrayed.

“Tommy, or would you prefer Theseus, why are the heroes searching for you?” He crumpled the missing poster up and sat down right in front of the sweating teenager ready to talk…
