Work Text:

“Whoa, this looks great!”

Sasaki grins as his latest client observes his work in the mirror he gave her. His latest masterpiece being a full sleeve, filled with flowers of all shapes and colors.

“I love it,” his client sighs, standing up from her chair. “I’ll tell all my friends about you.”

“Heh, thanks!” Sasaki replies, scratching the back of his neck sheepishly.

His client waves, and as she leaves his tattoo parlor, a small figure slowly walks in, a face mask covering the lower half of their face. A ball cap covers their black hair, as they timidly walk over.

“Uh… hey there!” Sasaki says, waving.

The person looks up, and Sasaki is met with large, light brown eyes. And the dagger to Sasaki’s heart is the absolutely adorable mole underneath their left eye.

“Uh… hi.” They greet, readjusting their messenger bag. “Um… C-Can I stay here for a little while?”

“Sure,” Sasaki says, motioning for them to take a seat in one of his many chairs. Though, he senses that something is… off.

“...Are you alright?” Sasaki asks.

They flinch, before looking at Sasaki and take him in. Sure, Sasaki might look a little… intimidating, with two full sleeves of tattoos, and his black leather jacket and ripped jeans, and his rings, earrings, lip piercing- okay, he might have scared the poor person.

They look at the ground, before removing their mask and ball cap. Looking up, Sasaki sees it’s a guy with curly black hair, though it’s a bit of a mess. He’s absolutely stunning.

“I… someone tried to rob me.”

Sasaki’s train of thought is immediately derailed.

“Wait, what?! ” Sasaki yelps. “Where?!”

“Um… by 13th Street crossing 6th Avenue…”

“Do you want me to call the cops?” Sasaki asks, his brows pinched down in worry.

“N-No, it’s ok. I’m ok.” He sighs, fiddling with the strap on his messenger bag. “Just a little shaken up.”

“I understand,” Sasaki hums, taking a seat next to the poor guy. “I’d be scared too.”

The guy glances at Sasaki, before he gives him a tiny smile.

“...T-Thanks.”

“No problemo,” Sasaki happily says. “My name’s Sasaki, by the way. What about you?”

“Um… Miyano.” Miyano looks at the ground, his face flushed. “B-But you can call me Mya.”

“Cute!” Sasaki says, giggling as Miyano’s face goes red. “Ok then, Mya-chan . Can I get you some water or anything?”

Miyano jumps at the nickname, but doesn’t argue against it.

“S-Sure. Water would be nice, I suppose…”

“Ok!” Sasaki jumps up and grabs a bottle of water from his mini-fridge, and gives it to Miyano.

Miyano takes it, bowing his head in thanks. He quickly unscrews the cap and downs half the bottle. Sasaki retakes his seat next to him, watching him as he drinks.

“Do you go to college?”

“Yeah,” Miyano pants, wiping his mouth. “I’m a third year. What about you?”

“I graduated last year,” Sasaki says. “And, not to be rude, but… you look a little young for a third year. I thought you were a freshman.”

Miyano pouts, and Sasaki finds it absolutely adorable. “Funny, cause that’s what everyone says.”

Sasaki laughs, bumping his knee against Miyano’s.

“Thank you, though. For helping me.”

“Of course!” Sasaki says. “You’re welcome here anytime. And, if you want a tattoo, let me know!”

Miyano looks away, his face red. “...I don’t think that’s in the cards for me.”

“Aww, why not?”

“I don’t really want one, plus my mom would probably kill me.” Miyano explains.

“So you’re not attracted to them?” Sasaki asks, pouting.

“T-That’s not what I said!” Miyano squeaks, jumping in place and waving his hands.

Sasaki barks out a laugh, grabbing Miyano’s cheeks and pulling on them. Miyano groans, admitting defeat. Looking out the window though, Sasaki notices the sun is starting to set.

“Hey, it’s getting dark out, and I have to close up.” Coughing, he looks away. “I-If you want, I could give you a ride back to your place…?”

Miyano gives him a flat look, though his red cheeks betray him. “...What a gentleman.”

“That’s not a no, though.” Sasaki says, teasing Miyano.

“You can, b-but I live in Center Square. It’s a little far, no?”

“Oh, no worries!” Sasaki says, smiling. “I live just a few minutes away from there, actually. Plus,” he adds, smirking, “we can take my motorcycle.”

Miyano’s eyes shine, making Sasaki laugh. Standing up, Miyano watches awkwardly as Sasaki puts everything away, and locks his tattoo parlor up.

“C’mon,” Sasaki says, leading Miyano to his bike out around the back. “Let’s get you home.”

Hopping on, Miyano hesitates, before he carefully wraps his arms around Sasaki’s middle. Sasaki takes a deep breath, urging his heart to slow down.

“R-Ready?”

“Yeah.” Miyano confirms.

“Alright, hold on tight.”

“Okay– AHH!”

Sasaki laughs as Miyano’s light hold on him turns to a bone crushing death grip. Seriously, he did not think that someone of Miyano’s size would be so damn strong. What the hell?!

He rips his bike around corners, but he doesn’t go too fast. He wants to have fun and tease Miyano, but he doesn’t want to scare the poor guy.

Pulling up to Miyano’s apartment complex, Sasaki parks his bike and turns it off. Hopping off, he helps Miyano dismount, before walking him to his door.

“W-Wait here,” Miyano quickly says, before he disappears into his apartment.

Cocking his head, Sasaki waits at the front door patiently, his head cocked to the side like a giant, curious dog. Coming back, Miyano returns with a tin of cookies, and presents it to Sasaki.

“Please accept my gift. I-I’m thankful that I met you, Sasaki.”

Sasaki smiles, and gently takes the tin. “I feel the same way, Mya.”

Miyano blushes, but rises up on his tippy toes and quickly gives Sasaki’s cheek a kiss.

Feeling his face aflame, both boys separate, though they grin like lovesick fools.

“....I’ll see you around, Mya-chan.” Sasaki squeaks, waving goodbye.

Miyano nods, waving back. He doesn’t close his apartment’s door until Sasaki is back on his bike, and disappears around a corner.

A little while later, when Sasaki gets back to his own house, he opens the tin and takes a cookie. Munching on it, he spots something else in the tin. A small note.

Reading it, he feels a wide smile take its place on his face.

Sasaki,

Thank you again. If you’d want to as well, I’d like to get to know you more. Call me: (XXX)-XXX-XXXX.

– Mya

Sasaki happily laughs, hugging the note to his chest. Adding Miyano’s contact information, he sends the other boy a quick text, before falling asleep.

He dreams of a future full of love, happiness, and the piece he’s been missing all along.

Sasaki [20:05]: Hey Mya-chan, it’s Sasaki!

Sasaki [20:07]: How does next Friday at the hot pot place in town sound? At 8?

Miyano has changed your name to The Gorgeous Ginger

Miyano [20:47]: Sorry, I was in the shower.

Miyano [20:48]: Oh, and deal. See you then. Bring your bike please ;^)

Notes:
