Summary:

The Bella’s are in NYC…unfortunately while there they are attacked. Now forced to hide out in the Avengers tower, they learn some things about their “legacy.”

Notes:

Well damn, my first work in this series with multiple parts. I have an idea of where this is going, you can expect fluff, smut, action, and confused Bellas. :)

Chapter 1: The Incident

Chapter Text

The Bellas are taking NYC! It’s been about 4 years since graduation and the Bellas desperately needed a reunion, so they all hopped on a plane and flew to the big city for a week. Well, all except the newly graduated Emily. No one knew what she was up to. Beca would never admit it to anyone, but she missed the youngest Bellas. The two of them had always been close and she had been looking forward to seeing how Emily turned out after the events of the USO tour. But alas, the day before the Bellas were set to meet up un New York Emily called and said that "something had come up.

The rest of the Bella's were there. Stacie lived in the city and that's why they decided on New York. Had they not, Stacie would've had to stay behind with her daughter. They all got hotel rooms down the street from Stacie, but of course they weren't really using them all. Instead, they found themselves invading one room or another every night.

That's how "the incident" happened.

"Why my room? I had plans." Aubrey complained, not fully meaning it. She did not have plans, she was just a little tired.

Chloe made herself comfortable on the bed, Beca right beside her. The rest of the Bellas scattered around the room. They weren't all doing something together, just doing their own things in a room together. After a day full of shopping and sightseeing, it's not like any one was dying to go out and do something.

Beca laughed and leaned against her fiancé. "We are your plans Bree."

With a reactant sigh, Aubrey sat on the bed next to her best friend and pulled her book off of her nightstand. A peace fell over the room. Jessica and Ashley were teaching Flo and Lilly a card game, Cynthia-Rose and Amy were having some conversation about something no one has heard of, and stacie was showing baby pictures of Bella to Beca and Chloe. It was beautiful peace, all of them just enjoying each other's company. Chloe opened her mouth to say just that, when suddenly the sound of glass shattering disturbed the moment.

All the Bellas jumped up in fear as they stared at an indiscernible figure floated outside the window, staring at them. "Bishop." the figure spoke in a low voice. Before they could ask what he meant, a shot rang out. The bullet lodged into the wall behind Amy's head. All hell broke loose.

The figure made his way into the tiny hotel room, holding them all at gun point. "I know who you are. I know who all of you are."

Terrified, the Bellas stood still. Once again, held at gun point with seemingly no way out. Just their luck. Amy searched her mind, trying to figure out if she could do something like what she did the last time this happened, when they were up against her father. But alas, every scenario she came up with ended with at least one casualty. They were trapped.

So why hadn't he killed them yet.

A loud thud startled the whole room, including the perpetrator. The startle didn't last long for him, however. Slowly, a smirk spread across his face. "Looks like they found me. But hear this," he pointed his gun at each of the Bellas, "I will never stop coming for you. All of you."

And with that, the door burst open, none other than Natasha Romanoff and Maria Hill coming in with their guns on the figure. The figure promptly jumped out the window and disappeared.

"Shit!" Natasha cried out, holstering her gun. "That's just fucking great. Go around from the back, great idea babe."

Maria scoffed. "Like you had any ideas at the time. If you weren't my wife." She mumbled that last part.

"I'm sorry but who the fuck are you and what the fuck just happened!" Beca shouted, finally regaining her composure.

The bickering wives turned to the Bellas, both of their faces falling. Of course there had to be witnesses to this.

Maria was going to offer an explanation, but was cut off. "He said he knew us. He said he'd come for us."

This was definitely new. Maria and Natasha looked at each other. They had never heard of this guy before, never seen him before. The only reason they were going after him was because they just so happened to be in the area when he made his power known. It was supposed to be their day off. However, even if they knew nothing about this guy, they knew one thing for certain, he was after these girls and they had to protect them.

"You better come with us."

The Bella's were taken to the Avengers compound and put into a briefing room. They were met by Fury, Steve, and Tony. Starstruck and terrified, the Bellas sat quietly, the most quiet they have ever been. This was not how they had planned for their vacation to go.

Chloe felt horrible. She loved these girls more than anything and she couldn't believe that they were in harms way. She looked over to her fiancé. They had so many plans together. They were going to be married in less than five months. They were starting to discuss having kids. They had a dog. If anything happened to Beca, Chloe wouldn't be able to go on.

All of the Bellas felt the same in their own way. None of them were ready to die.

"We don't know who this guy is." Fury told him. "But until we do and until we stop him, you all will remain here. We will have your luggage brought from the hotel and we will give you rooms and whatever else you need. You can't leave this compound, you're safe here."

It should've been comforting, but it wasn't. The girls didn't want to be trapped at the compound, it just made them more scared and more confused. Why was there a psychopath after them?

"You picked a great time to be attacked though." Tony grinned, earning him a smack on the shoulder. "Not that there's ever a good time for that. What I mean by that, is I'm throwing a party tonight. As new residents, you are all invited."

The Bellas stared blankly at him. "So you're telling us that we're being stalked by a psychopath and may die but, hey, it's okay because there's a party tonight?" Beca scoffed.

"It's how we cope. You get used to it eventually." Tony shrugged.

Fury rolled his eyes. "Please excuse him, he's an ass. Come with me and I'll show you where you're staying."

"Are we really staying? I have a baby, I need to get back to her?" Stacie asked as she paced Beca and Chloe's assigned room.

The Bellas had gathered there to figure out what was going on. They had no idea what to do and they didn't want to stay. But they didn't want to leave if that meant they would be in danger. They were starting to think that Emily had the right idea by not coming.

"Stacie, Bella will be fine, your sister has it covered." Amy told her, a wicked grin spreading on her face. "I say we go to the party. I mean, crazy psychopath aside, when is the next time that we will have opportunity to go to an infamous Stark party."

The Bellas looked around, their eyes finding each other.

"Damn, you're right."

The party was in full swing by the time the Bellas rolled in. Music playing, people drinking, and Avengers mingling. They were starstruck yet again.

Across the party, a tall brunette was dancing with her much shorter blonde girlfriend. She had no idea who had just walked in. The blonde looked up, pulling her archer down for a kiss, both blissfully unaware.

"Hey! Come on!" Their frosted tipped friend, Pietro, groaned, dramatically covering his eyes with the beer in his hand.

The couple pulled away laughing. "You're just mad that you don't have a boyfriend." The brunette flipped him off.

"Oh fuck off Kate." The blonde laughed at her girlfriend being called out. "You too Yelena."

Yelena scoffed and turned back to her girlfriend. She pulled her down for a long, performative kiss. "I'm going to make you another drink, detka."

Before Kate could get a word out, her girlfriend was gone. Kate hated to see her leave, but loved to see her go. She couldn't imagine a more perfect girl and she could hardly believe that Yelena would ever settle for her. But thank god she did.

Taking her eyes off of her girlfriend, Kate turned to look at her friends, her favorite people in the world. Pietro, the guy that can never sit still and always has a quick comeback. Wanda, one of the sweetest women in the world and the first person she would call if she needed a voice of reason. Peter, the youngest of the group but no less important, he was the most loyal guy in the world. Then there was Yelena, Kate could spend years talking about her.

So that's Kate's little crew. Of course she had more friends, but no one knew more about her and no one loved her more than those four. So, she was content with seeing most of her other friends only on occasion. Like this weekend, she was supposed to meet the Bellas in the city, but Peter was having a rough time with nightmares and there was no way that Kate, Yelena, Wanda, and Pietro were going to leave him alone. Two days at Aunt May's and Peter was like a new man.

"Kate!" Peter pulled her out of her musings by slinging his arm around her shoulders. She could only laugh as the drunk teenager began to talk about everything in his head. And that is a lot of things.

"who are you?" Yelena asked from behind the bar as she mixed a drink for her girlfriend. "I saw you talking to my sister and her wife."

The Bellas approached the bar, looking very out of place in their current situation. The party was great, but they didn't know anyone there except the people who saved their lives.

"Your sister?" Aubrey asked. "But you're the bartender and she's...she's the Black Widow."

Yelena laughed heartily as she poured vodka into Kate's drink. "You are very funny. I'm not the bartender. I am Yelena Belova and I am making my girlfriend a drink."

The Bellas stood in stunned silence, if they were uncomfortable before, they sure as well were now.

"It is alright." Yelena grinned. "You did not answer me though. Who are you?"

They looked around at each other, silently deciding that Beca should be the one to talk. "Um, we're, well there's a lot of us so...we used to be in an acapella group in college. We were doing a reunion trip and we got attacked so here we are."

The gears started turning in Yelena's head. Those girls looked familiar, very familiar. And an acapella group in college. Why would they be targeted? Unless...

It hit her.

"Barden." She said, causing all of the Bellas to stare at her in schock.

"How did you-"

"You are the Barden Bellas." Yelena chuckled. "Of course you are."

The Bellas were terrified. They didn't understand who was standing in front of them and how she knew them. But Yelena knew a lot about them. In the two years she had been dating Kate, and the three year that she'd know her, she'd heard a lot about them. This was going to be fun.

"You must meet my girlfriend." Kate smirked, picking up Kate's drink and a handle of vodka. "Come with me."

Not really knowing why, the Bellas followed the Russian over to the gang young Avengers. The Bellas looked at each of them, only two looked about their age, but probably younger. They didn't understand. Until they did.

"Meet my girlfriend." Yelena said proudly, tapping Kate's shoulder. "

Kate turned around. It all clicked.

"Emily?"

"Oh fuck."
