The Kaminoans threaten this upon decanting. If there is even one mention of a potential defect, you are sent for reconditioning. All the clones know what that means. It's why they work so hard to ensure perfection from their cadet years until deployment.
Kix, however, is the only one to truly deviate from the norm. It's in the earliest years of The Clone Wars when he discovers a devastating secret that could potentially mean his end.
Obi-Wan Kenobi refuses to let it come to that.
SO.... This has been at least two years in the making. I've had this AU idea since 2021 when I was roleplaying on Star Wars Twitter as Kix (because I legitimately know so few people who actually like him lol) and ended up creating this intricate AU where Kix finds out he's force sensitive and Obi-Wan takes him as a combat padawan after Anakin is knighted.
Here's the AU you want but didn't ask for: Force!Healer Kix, Padawan to Bant and combat Padawan to Obi-Wan, learns how to navigate a war as a deviation from the clone norm: And it ends up costing more than he bargained for.
This is the FIRST time in my career as a writer where I am writing a story that doesn't include an OC in it. Please be gentle. I have poured SO much of myself into this au. It's the only one I've ever done besides the one shots you've seen of Bo-Katan and Kix.
