Chapter Text
Trust is a fragile thing. While it can be easily obtained, it can be shattered just as easily; It's how you handle it that determines which outcome you will get. This story tells the adventure of three heroes learning to build up the trust between them and growing closer because of it.
The sun basked its beautiful light down on Avant City on a peaceful early June afternoon. Andy breathed in the fresh air as he enjoyed the peacefulness of the park. He, Alex and Aster had decided to hang out at the park since that's what friends did. The two siblings were leaning against a thick oak tree while Aster sat up in it's branches.
At that current moment, they were taking a food break, letting their energy recharge before they went back to more activities. Andy was enjoying a plain baguette (Alex had given him a weird look when he'd decided to eat just bread), his sister in question had a simple sandwich while Aster seemed to have an entire banquet. In all honesty, Andy was surprised and kind of impressed that the younger teen was able to eat what was basically her height in food in one sitting. He liked Aster as a person; she had a positive outlook in life and was quite energetic and bubbly. He was glad to have a friend like her in his life; he was pretty sure they were friends.
Finishing his food, Andy pushed himself off the tree and stretched his limbs and cracked his back.
Alex looked over at him with a smirk. "Easy there old man, you need to be gentle with your bones."
Andy glanced back. "You're the older one so I think it's your bones that need attention."
His sister feigned hurt and scoffed. Aster let out her small chuckle from her place on the branch. "Technically you're both old. Soon you'll be old and grey and yelling at kids to 'get off your lawn'.'"
"You're one to talk; You're only a year younger than us. It wouldn't be long until you're old along with us, all wrinkly and hunched over," Alex commented, looking up at her friend.
Now it was Aster's turn to feign hurt. "I'm going to age gracefully I'll have you know. I'll be able to run circles around you."
"Okay okay, you've made your point," Andy interjected. Aster chuckled in response.
After a few moments of silence, the younger teen spoke up. "Hey, can I ask you guys a question?"
"Sure go ahead," Andy stated, looking up at Aster.
"How is your hair white? You don't have to answer but I'm just curious. It looks too natural to be hair dye but it doesn't look natural enough for you to have been born with it."
That... was a question Andy wasn't expecting. He glanced over at Alex, unsure of how to answer the question. Obviously they couldn't answer with the whole truth as that would raise too many questions neither of them would want to answer. His sister had a hint of concern in her eyes and mouthed 'simple answer'.
Turning back to Aster, Andy replied. "We were in an... accident when we were younger that caused our hair to turn white."
It was a half truth. Aster made a 'hmmm' sound and hung down from the branch by her legs.
"So what was this 'accident'?" she inquired, looking at both the twins for an answer.
"For legal reasons, we can't speak about it," Alex answered.
That made a smirk appear on the younger teen's face. "Oh it's not legal? What are you a lawyer?"
Andy couldn't help but crack a smile and nudge Alex in the side. "Alex? A lawyer? She doesn't have the temperament to be one and would probably end up fighting the opposing side instead of debating."
A scoff escaped Alex's mouth and she gently smacked Andy on the arm. Laughter erupts from all three of them and the day goes on.
