Kyouka blinked as she watched what was going on. She went out for a bit to pick up some bento boxes for lunch from the café and when she came back, she was met with quite the sight.
On the couch in the lounge area, there was Atsushi and Kunikida and usually with those two, it was Atsushi who was sleeping and Kunikida being awake and watching over him. That day, it was the opposite.
The morning before the moment was very hectic with paperwork, phone calls and a case that required a few of the members to investigate. By the time it was around noon, out of everyone, Kunikida was the most exhausted. If it wasn’t for Atsushi’s insistence, the man would have continued to work through the afternoon.
So the one sleeping was none other than Kunikida, whose head was on Atsushi’s lap.
Atsushi had his hand going through loose strands of the other’s hair, humming something though it was soft and too low for anyone to pick up anything but the young man had a soft smile on his face, glad the other was resting for once and not in the cold outside.
Kyouka watched that for a few more seconds before leaving. She then came back with a blanket and draped it over Kunikida’s body, making sure he was comfy.
Thanking her, Atsushi went back to watching the other sleep, leaning down and kissing a few strands of hair before leaning back. Sometimes things just have to be taken slow and easy.
He was sure the other will understand when he wakes up.
