“Here.”
“Oh…thanks.”
It wasn’t often that Katai would offer his Futon to the other but the warmth of it made his heart skip a beat. Kunikida was in pajamas and staying over at Katai’s for the night after a long day of cleaning and cooking. He knew Katai was not the most homely person in terms of housework but unlike a certain bandaged maniac, he was better.
Making sure the futon was secured on the other’s shoulders, Katai moved and sat down next to him. He took off his glasses to wipe them as he looked at nothing in particular. “It’s not too heavy is it?”
“Hmm?” Kunikida glanced at him. “The futon? Not really, it’s just part of a bedding—”
“I meant,” Katai’s tone firmed up. “Work. Like the agency lately. You doing alright?”
Silent for a moment, Kunikida lowered his head before looking at the other full on. “You know how it goes. Some days are just…more taxing than others. I’m fine though.”
“Sure.” Katai, being there for Kunikida before he became part of the agency, didn’t believe that. “Whatever you say.” But he wasn’t going to push. When and if, Kunikida wanted to vent would be up to the other. “But know that I’m here for you…when I can be for you, okay?”
His eyes widened before he moved to lean his head against the other’s shoulder. “I know…I just wish you can at least clean a little of your place sometimes.”
“Oi, I meant talk about work, not my shortcomings.” Katai half joked as he smiled, hearing Kunikida chuckle. Yeah, this was nice. Making sure the other was comfortable despite how the days were was good.
That and giving the blonde some kisses to top it off.
