Work Text:
Wednesday could not understand why her roommate had been so desperate to show her something. She had been working on her writing on her typewriter in the afternoon, next thing she knows her eyes are closed shut with no idea where they are going, great. This is not sketchy at all, “It seems that this is my last day on earth,” She’d think as the wind blew through her dark hair, Thing crawled on her shoulder with a light tap, then a hyper and excited voice sounded from the blonde werewolf, who was gripping at the Addams wrist leading her to an isolated area.
“Come on Wednesday don’t be so gloomy! I promise this will be perfect!” She stated with glee, though the psychic could not see, only in pure darkness. The dark-haired girl groaned under her breath in frustration. “I’d rather jump into a hole than be here right now.” She muttered, “Don’t be silly…” The highlighted-haired girl zoned off as she swiftly turned her head, “Oh, Willa! We are here!” she excitedly spoke with eagerness. Wednesday stood in silence. “I’m opening my eyes now—”
“NO! No,” Enid nearly screamed, “you said we have arrived, so I assumed I could open my eyes again. Can I not?” The dark-haired girl asked in a straight and forward tone. “It’s a secret,” Enid winked, although Wednesday had her eyes closed, she still felt that damn wink like many times before. “Whatever, the more I wait the more I feel sickened. Hurry up and get this over with,” “Aw, I love you too!” The blond-haired girl stuck her tongue out, damn it this girl. A faint blush appeared on the pale girl’s face. “Ugh, I loathe when you flatter me.”
Minutes passed, after mindless walking and nothing but a darkness through her eyes, “Now, Open your eyes, Willa!” She sounded genuinely excited when the dark girl opened her eyes, a field of flowers came into her view, many types of flowers scattered throughout the area. Roses, Tulips, Sunflowers, any you can ask for, Wednesday stuttered before speaking a word, “a--- a field of flowers?”
“Mhm! You deserve some peace after… the incident. I think its worth the shot.” The werewolf said with a smile. “And why would this make me feel peaceful? It is very appreciated Enid, but I feel at peace when I am writing. I do not see a point, goodbye.” The dark-haired girl turned around before being stopped. “Come on, Willa. This is a great place to lay low for a while. I scouted the internet just to find this! Come on, please?” She said with a whine as she tipped her head on the side.
The Addams let out a loud sigh before silently nodding, “Let’s go!” The werewolf said, enthusiastically. Wednesday could not help but follow.
A breeze flew, the beauty of the flowers glistened in the light sun, the air smelt fresh and brand new with the sent of the nectar aroma in the flower field. Now in the middle of the patches of multi-colored flowers, the hyper werewolf sat down, motioning for her friend to do the same. She had put her hand in her bag, “...What are you doing?” the dark-haired girl cocked her head towards the sound of its zipper.
“Surprise!” The blond-haired girl took out a few wires, tape, and scissors. “I am not understanding.” The Addams looked with a confused face, “I brought supplies to make flower crowns! Isn’t this exciting?!” She said with eagerness, “If you dare think I will touch these dirty pests, I will personally throw a knife at you. No remorse” The dark-haired girl said with a blank face. “Don’t be silly, I will make them!” The blond-haired girl smiled; she would pick up the wire. “Oh, I should go look for flowers. Anything in particular?” She shifted her head as she stood up from sitting.
“Whatever.” Wednesday laid her back on the grass, ignoring anything in hearing-range, Thing crawled off to look around the field. The blond-haired girl shrugged her shoulders, “I’ll be back.” The psychic, once again, nodded silently. She walked deeper in the lighted area, frolicking in the field of flowers, red flowers, blue flowers, yellow flowers scattered throughout the field. “Which ones, oh which ones should I use?!” She happily looked around excited. “Oh! Black flowers!” She shrieked with a sparkle in her eyes, “Ooh!” She picked out roses, tulips, lilies. Anything she could put in her palms. As well for herself with multi-colored flowers, mostly blue and pink.
She trotted her way back, the dark Black and white girl differed from the distinctive colors surrounding her calm and relaxed body. She had her eyes closed, slowly breathing in the fresh air with her palms together, she looked so peaceful, Enid did not want to bother such peace. She stood there for a minute. Mouth gapped open but she straightened up as she see saw the girl move her hand, Thing flicking something in her hair as she attempted to grab at them; it was time to act and walk over with the flowers Enid picked. “Back!” She exclaimed as she sat down.
“That took you long enough.” The Addams dark hair was covered with flower petals, ah, so that’s what they were. “Thing has been putting these pathetic parasites on my head for the past ten minutes…” She swatted at her hair to take them off, “They won’t harm ya,’ They are just petals alone.” Thing scattered near Enid as he tapped at her knee. He put a flower on the ground and pointed as his head. “I’ll get that for you!” The blond-haired person said happy as she placed in on the top of the severed hand. “You look gorgeous!”
“Ugh, whatever.” Wednesday decided it was best to lay back on the ground. She had closed her eyes; she felt a tug. “You imbecile---!” She started to squirm before she stopped, she felt something underneath her braided hair as she opened her eyes. Her heart felt strucked by cupid. Damnit why does she have to be so cute? She pinched her nose, as she watched the girl above picking up a dark flower and begin her work. Flowers were a beauty, weren’t they?
She uttered into silence as she slowly blinked, she stared into the eyes of her roommate as a fuzz came to her cheeks, she had never seen anyone as prettier than a flower before. Her shoulders relaxed; she closed her eyes to let this moment soak. Enid weaved, and weaved, adding more flowers after another, Thing crawled on the blondes shoulder as she smiles at the severed hand. The dark-haired girl steadied her breathing, she was relaxed.
She felt a still silence, her eyebrows furrowed, she sensed something was wrong. A unsettling presence around her head made her reflex immediately, she jolted awake. “It’s finished!” The Addams slowly blinked, unaware before she steadied her hand on the object, “Oh.” She nearly smiled, “This,” She grew silent, “This is acceptable.” She said as she sat up, eyeing at the flowers beside the blonde. “Thank you, it’s wonderful.”
“Finally, it’s my turn to have a crown!” Enid turned towards the group of flowers she placed nearby to start the wiring. She noticed as Wednesday’s hand grabbed them before she could, “Uhm. You can do it I guess?” She said with an awkward laugh. The Addams stared at the wire on the ground. “…What do I do with it?” She twisted the wire between her fingers.
“Oh, here let me show you.” The blonde werewolf carefully traced her hand over the dark-haired girl’s. Her face turned red with blush, Enid carries on with showering her how to wire the stem slowly, and after that she went to grab a flower, the Addams started to get the deal, she had enough before she flicked the blonde’s hand away. “I can do it. Thanks.” She said with a blank face. “Okay, Okay!” The blond-haired person steadies her arms in her lap.
She tipped over to lie on the dark-haired girl’s lap, startling her. “What are you doing?” The dark-haired girl quickly said as she held the flowers still in her hand. “Just like you did, hehe!” Wednesday rolled her eyes before continuing, she picked up the blue and pink flowers along with many other colors, it seemed more complexed, but she started getting into the rhythm of weaving the crown.
The werewolf smiled upwards; she stared up with a happy glare as she looks at the focused brown eyes of the Addams, and oh her beautiful freckles glimmered in the sunlight that peered from above. “You’re so beautiful.” She said with a giggle, “Oh, shut your trap. I’m trying to focus” The dark-haired girl said sarcastically. “Sorry,”
The blond-haired girl realized the crown was done as it was placed on her head, she excitedly sat up with a large smile on her face. “See! It was not so bad, wasn’t it?” She asked with curiosity as she gently touched the crown on her head. “I’d still rather be back at the dorm room, but it was nice.” The dark-haired girl curled her arms around her legs.
“…You’re also very beautiful.” She said with a hidden smile. “Awe, Willa thank you! Now Come on, let’s go!!” The blond-haired girl stood up. “Huh? Enid what---” she felt a grasp on her wrist as she was pulled up, Thing happily bounced with the flower still on him. “Let’s dance.” The werewolf clapped her hands into a beat, “Fine. Just once, I guess.” The Addams took the blonde’s arm and pulled, placing her leg on the ground, “Let’s dance, Sinclair.” Enid looked around, “I don’t know how to do this—” she was interrupted, “Follow me, I will show you. Take it as a thank you gift.” She said with a feint smile. “Mhm…” The blond-haired person nodded in silence as she awkwardly smiled.
They were dancing like an old married couple, “Pull back when I do so,” the dark-haired girl steadied as she backed her right foot up, the blond-haired girl followed, they leaned the opposite direction. “This isn’t so bad! I can get used to this!” Wednesday looked at the blond-haired person’s happy smile, she brought her back with her hands around the blonde’s waist they stood for a moment, taking in how relaxing and exciting this all was, they both looked at each with soft eyes, both slightly blushing as she stilled. She’s so beautiful. They had in mind.
But just as the blonde was soaking it in, the dark-haired girl pulled back as she wiped at her shirt. “Well, that was wonderful.” Despite her kind words, she still sported her blank face.
“Yes--- Yes it was.” The blond-haired girl looked around as she blushed harder. “You’re so kind, and you don’t even know just that.” She quickly stated as she looked to her right. “Oh, I know, you hadn’t need to worry about it.” She paused as she took her hand into hers, Thing scurred onto her shoulder as the flower fell off him. “Now, sha’ll we go home, mi amor?”
Enid swiftly nodded her head as she looked away, “Yeah.” She paused as she took a deep breath. “We sha’ll.” She said with a smile, a pink blush crept upon her face. Wednesday smiled quickly, but went back to her blank face. “Your smile… It is pretty.”
“Thanks, it’s getting late, let’s go home.” They walked off, hands tight together. The sun was lower in the sky than before, the dim sunlight glen against the two, flower crowns still on their heads, looking at each other, admiring one of another.
They were both filled with love, and they both knew the truth about their feelings.
