He Loves Me (He Loves Me Not)

Summary:

Distantly, he remembered Bella, lying in the next room, unmoving and deathly pale. He shouldn’t be thinking of this, not when he’d promised to love Bella and only Bella for the rest of his life, through sickness and in health.

Til death do us part.

Technically, they would have already parted.

Maybe it was alright to be moving on. To take comfort in another person.

To be with this man.

Chapter Text

He found me in the woods.

a thick wolf crumpled me to the floor i saw the light i was sure i was gonna but when… i hear the low growl of a much bigger wolf. the tiny puny pathetic wolf gets thrown into the thick oak.  the massive creature that i can only call my saviour stands up and transforms into a man….

I blacked out and he caught me. The last thing I saw before succumbing to the dark void was his eyes—like two fiery balls of gas that warmed my insides in this cold forest.

~*~

I hear beeping flatline from a room down the hall; someone is dying. But it was not me, like I thought it might have been. All because of him .

The man walked through the door, as tall as he was on that day he found me. He tossed his sleek, ink black hair over his shoulder and began reading my chart.

“You know,” he said to me. “It was really stupid of you to go out into the woods. I think you’re stupid.”

The moment his velvet smooth voice reached my ears, I knew he was irrevocably right. I was stupid!

To be eaten nearly to death by a random wolf in the woods; how dumb! I wonder what gods i’d pleased to be fortunate enough to be saved by such a majestic beast. But wait… my memories came flooding back. Was he…

“A werewolf?!?!!!” I screamed.

He looked up from the clipboard gracefully, but with a contained annoyance and a subtly buried woe.

“Not just ANY basic bitch pathetic werewolf,” he drawls. “I am—“

Someone down the hall screams for a nurse. “PLEASE, I AM IN DIRE NEED OF HELP!” Outside of the room there is loud sobbing.

My nurse puts the clipboard down. The sun’s rays reflect off his face as he turns around, his eyes gleaming. He rushes to the door to help.

“Wait!” I cry. “Who… are you?”

He looks at me. I saw a glint of the same sun that brought light into my life on that dark night.

He powerfully rushes away with a dominance like no other, leaving me colder than I was before my existence was graced with his.

I envy the one who doesn’t have to say goodbye.
