Summary
It's been two years since the Battle of Hogwarts. Voldemort's tyranny is over. All the remaining Death Eaters are in hiding, in Azkaban or living out their days under the watchful eye of the Ministry. Not one person expected Narcissa Malfoy to plead to Minister Kingsley not to send her sister back to Azkaban, even after she and Bellatrix had fled from the battle that night. Narcissa Malfoy didn't beg. The Noble and Most Ancient House of Black didn't plead.
It was enough, Bellatrix Black was to be put under house arrest at Black Manor when at home and was working towards rebuilding Hogwarts when not. Headmistress McGonagall had already mourned her once favourite student. She was lost. She had gone down a dark path. Dumbledore didn't believe that she would ever come back to the light, even for all his faith in Snape. But Minerva was willing to try, she believed the war had taken enough. She would help mend the Black sisters if she could and she knew just who could help them. Although she feared Miss Granger might hate her for what she was about to do...
