“You’re leaving?”
“Yes,” Jotaro’s using caution, Josuke can hear it in the slowness of his cadence, the gentleness of his baritone. He wants to push back, but he doesn’t want this to become a fight. He’s not sixteen anymore. In the time since that summer of ‘99, Josuke has better learned how to pick and choose his battles, and with a little well prescribed chemical help, as well as therapy, his impulse control is in a better place than it once was. And more than that, the thought of a single wrong move driving Jotaro away from him is threatening enough to keep Josuke from snapping. He bites the inside of his lower lip and looks away. Jotaro clears his throat: “In two months.”
Two months. Sixty-one days and Jotaro’s gone.
